Your Southern Music stimulant

Because we all need to recharge the batteries sometimes!

Everyone sing along!
Rollin' down a backwoods, Tennessee by-way,
One arm on the wheel.
Holdin' my lover with the other,
A sweet, soft, Southern thrill.
Worked hard all week; got a little jingle,
On a Tennessee Saturday night.
Couldn't feel better, I'm together,
With my Dixieland Delight.

Astronaut: World has no borders, pass immigration reform

From the Marxist People's Weekly World:

U.S. astronaut Jose M. Hernandez, a Mexican American, said one of the most memorable experiences during his recent trip to space was being able to look at Earth and marvel at a world without borders.

The last time I was on an airplane, I looked down and didn't see any rights to free health care, either.

But Americans have no right to secure borders

Bogus conservative Andrew Sullivan approvingly quotes this argument for Open Borders in an entry he entitled, The Right of Free Movement:

Showing that increased immigration tends to benefit natives reduces resistance on the margin, which is worth doing. But, in my experience, laying out clearly the immense benefits to the immigrants is extremely powerful. It highlights the needless misery caused by the heartless status quo. Even then, it is more powerful still to illustrate clearly how the status-quo system of borders, passports, visas, and citizenships systematically violates basic human rights to free movement and association.

The original piece Sullivan refers to equates Open Borders to the hallowed Civil Rights Revolution. Levelling everyone down to the status of Third-World peasants gives anti-Western leftists what they want, while the prospect of cheap, exploitable labor leaves globalist big business salivating. That's what puts these strange bedfellows together, leaving the native-born out in the cold.

More Lies, More Deception

Paul Craig Roberts shoots this humdinger of a zinger at Obama regarding the president's jihad against Iran:

... out of Obama’s mouth jumped Orwellian doublespeak: “The Iranian government must now demonstrate through deeds its peaceful intentions or be held accountable to international standards and international law.”

The incongruity blows the mind. Here is Obama, with troops engaged in wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, demanding that a peaceful nation at war with no one demonstrate “its peaceful intentions or be held accountable to international standards and international law.”

Obama's proven he can spin silken bs better than Clinton and Bush combined. And people accused him of not being qualified to be president of the US!

Military coup "to resolve the 'Obama problem' " is not "unrealistic"

Is this where we're headed?

There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America's military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the "Obama problem." Don't dismiss it as unrealistic.Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation.

Maybe we don't have a military leader as charismatic as Burt Lancaster's General James Scott. But what does it say when a military coup is imagined to be a solution to expanding Big Government?

This only proves what we've been warning about for over a decade: DC's monopoly on political and military power makes it toxic to the survival of American liberty -- or, more accurately, what's left of it. It is unnatural and inherently self-destructive to allow so much power to be concentrated within the beltway of the District of Corruption, and only -- ONLY a renewal of local self-government can save us from the false choice of which dictator will rule over us. That means the resurgence of what the Founders established, and that is the return of effective sovereignty of the people of the States. Whether that can be renewed within the existing system, as many of us have worked for, or whether total secession will be the only way to achieve local self-government, remains to be seen.

The Southern Poverty Law Center's Pro-Amnesty Anti-Free Speech Agenda

Tom Tancredo exposes the intellectual dishonesty of the most underhanded enforcers the Open Borders cabal has yet produced -- none other than the Southern Poverty Law Center:
Recently I spoke at a college in New York State. After my speech, a student handed me one of his text books entitled Understanding Human Differences: Multicultural Education in a Diverse America.

Given the title, I didn't expect sympathetic treatment. However, I was still shocked to see myself quoted as saying, "illegal immigrants were 'coming to kill you and kill me and our families.'" While illegal aliens disproportionately commit violent crimes, I would never make such a blanket assertion.

I contacted the publisher who gave the source as the Southern Poverty Law Center's hysterical smear piece against the immigration control movement creatively titled "The Nativists." The SPLC purported that I said this at a 2004 speech in Illinois.

What I actually said was that our open borders policies allow terrorists to sneak into our country. And yes, terrorists want to "kill you and kill me and our families." But the SPLC's intentional misrepresentation is now repeated across the internet and even in college textbooks. (To their credit, the publisher will eliminate the quote in future editions.)

The good news is that when the SPLC lie was exposed, the publisher agreed to correct the doctored quote from Representative Tancredo. Problem is, as Tancredo notes, there are many such manufactured facts still bouncing around the Internet and in the corporate media, too many for one person to hunt down and swat. We all have to get involved. Like ACORN, our enemies depend on hype and distortion. They hate the sunlight, and thrive only when good people let them get away with their fraud. So when your local paper quotes the SPLC, zip off that letter to the editor with the facts. They're only a click away.

The Sanity of Secession

What kind of nut supports secession? That is, other than William Wallace, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and modern-day Americans who've had enough of DC's corruption and waste? Well, responds The Southern Avenger, there's George Kennan:

Upon his death in 2005, George Kennan was remembered for lots of things, but being crazy wasn’t among them. As a U.S. ambassador, adviser, political scientist and historian, Kennan was known as the “father of containment” and was one of the most influential architects of U.S. policy toward the Soviet Union. Kennan’s New York Times obituary described him as “the American diplomat who did more than any other envoy of his generation to shape United States policy during the cold war,” Gen. Colin Powell described him as “our best tutor” and Foreign Policy Magazine declared Kennan “the most influential diplomat of the 20th century.”

But in his later years, Kennan had also become a full-blown secessionist, advocating independence for the state of Vermont and imagining a United States that would break up into “a dozen constituent republics.”

Selling another war

Paul Craig Roberts can't believe that we're falling for another bunch of lies from the War Party:

Does anyone remember all the lies that they were told by then-president Bush and the "mainstream media" about the grave threat to America from weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? These lies were repeated endlessly in the print and TV media despite the reports from the weapons inspectors, who had been sent to Iraq, that no such weapons existed.

The weapons inspectors did an honest job in Iraq and told the truth, but the mainstream media did not emphasize their findings. Instead, the media served as a Ministry of Propaganda, beating the war drums for the U.S. government.

Now the whole process is repeating itself. This time the target is Iran.

This time around, however, things are different. The American public is sick of war, the military is in shambles, and truth is, we're broke. So our handlers are bringing back their best hucksters:

Kelley Vlahos takes a long, hard look at how the Kagans do it. Essential reading for understanding how war-fever is spread.

Has Ron Paul Converted Michele Bachmann To Libertarianism?

Representatives Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul addressed a packed auditorium in Minneapolis last Friday. Here's a report from Smart Politics:

Paul talked about an impending "major crisis" that he believes is going to hit America, and that like-minded people will be needed to "restart" America in a much better way; Paul added that there will be a "de facto secession" after the crisis hits. All of these statements generated applause from Bachmann:

"I believe the crisis will come, because we're going to have a dollar crisis. When the dollar fails, that means the government checks bounce. And when the checks bounce there will be very little reason for people to be dedicated and worrying too much about the federal government. It will almost be like de facto secession because there will be no way they can control what we're doing!"

It gets even better: Bachmann joined the crowd in applauding Paul when he said, "The good patriot sticks with the people and questions the government."

That's what I'm talking about.

So I guess I'm a hate group member, too

Do you love Obama, higher taxes, and arbitrary rules from a remote bureaucracy? You do? Then you have nothing to worry about. But then there are those who need to be watched:

Via Erick at RedState comes an article from the Southern Poverty Law Center on "The Second Wave: Evidence Grows of Far-Right Militia Resurgence."

As closely-reasoned analyses go, it leaves a lot to be desired. As a fundraising pitch, or possible as a crutch for confused columnists, it's a bounty of bias-confirming hyperbole. But along the way, the piece touches on some issues that make me wonder whether I, too, can now be classified as a member of a "hate group" ...

I always wondered when the left would move beyond "anti-taxers" as an epithet and embrace something with a bit more zing. Now it seems they've found it: we're not merely anti-taxers, but pawns of a malevolent, militarist, racist fringe that seeks to overthrow the government.

If you oppose bigger government, you're denying needed resources to the Doers of Good in DC. Only hatred could motivate anyone to do such a thing.

South Sudan leader sees 'real chance' of secession

What do you do when different peoples are forced into one political system? The stronger could impose its will on the weaker (see Lincoln, Abraham). Or the two parties could peacefully secede. In Sudan, the Christian South wants to secede from the Muslim North. This is yet another correction of the artificial political boundaries imposed by European colonizers, as in India and Pakistan. A similar re-configuration could save a lot of bloodshed in Afghanistan.

William Safire on the War for Southern Independence

From the late William Safire:

But the greatness of Lincoln was his purposefulness. He saw something that few others saw: that the democratic experiment centered on the Union and that majority rule was everything.

Guess that means the US can't secede from the United Nations. Majority rule means majority rule.

Liberals seek health-care access for illegals

From the "Told ya!" file:

Fearful that they're losing ground on immigration and health care, a group of House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and allow illegal immigrants some access.

The Democrats, trying to stiffen their party's spines on the contentious issue, say it's unfair to bar illegal immigrants from paying their own way in a government-sponsored exchange.

OK, so when do the Democrats apologize to Joe Wilson?

You'd think a shrink would know better

Charles Krauthammer on the late Irving Kristol:

At 20, he got a job as a machinist's apprentice at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He realized his future did not lie in rivets, he would recount with a smile, when the battleship turret he was working on was found to be pointing in the wrong direction. It could only shoot inward — directly at the ship's own bridge.

I can't imagine a better metaphor for the Neocon ideology Kristol would later create -- a worldview that claimed to advance an irresistable democratic empire, but instead launched wars that gutted our economy, weakened traditional liberties, and wrecked the military.

More eyes on more prizes

Affirmative action will advance civil rights.

Invading Iraq will advance civil rights.

Obamacare will advance civil rights.

If you claim it'll be good for civil rights, people will have to support it.

Speaking of Bill Clinton ...

Who says demographics determine politics? This ex-president, for one:

Former President Bill Clinton told NBC's David Gregory on "Meet the Press" that the so-called "vast right-wing conspiracy" still exists and is "as virulent as it was," but has had its impact diminished by the nation's changing demographics.

And he's right -- importing vast populations from banana republics will certainly dilute the strength of conservatives. This isn't anything new for the rascally Bill Clinton. He championed radical demographic upheaval while in office, even going so far as to call for a "Third American Revolution" to prove that America could survive without a white majority -- with no apparent concern if this seismic, irreversible experiment went wrong.

But he won't have to worry about that. Let Chelsea's kids deal with it.

America has disappeared

Doug Casey, the chairman of Casey Research, LLC, on the underlying rot in the empire's economy:

Why people think that borders and governments are set in stone is actually beyond my comprehension. People forget that there are areas of France, Spain, and Britain, to name just a few among old and stable European countries, where even today, people are actively talking about leaving. And they’re at least as stable as the U.S. is – and notice that I call it the United States, not America. As far as I’m concerned, America has disappeared. America was an idea, not a place, and it’s been replaced with the United (by force) States.

Birds of a feather

Meanwhile, Neocon Victor Davis Hanson defends Charles Johnson in his smear attacks on Robert McCain. And what a coincidence that Johnson cites the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center as "proof" of his accusations against McCain.

Southern populist terrorism

Robert Stacy McCain lets Andrew Sullivan have it for his anti-Southern rantings about the murder of a part-time teacher and census worker in Kentucky. McCain promises to travel to the scene of the crime and do some actual fact-finding, something the opinionated Sullivan deems unnecessary -- after all, it is the South, right? Hit McCain's tip jar so he can afford to do this story. Think of it as hitting Sullivan, who's clearly the number two most pompous pseudo-conservative on the 'net.

Number one is still secure.

Quote of the day

"The solution to oppressive modern government? Start another country." Second Amendment Freedom

The Texas Nationalist Movement

Here's a great interview with Daniel Miller, President of The Texas Nationalist Movement. This excerpt makes clear that it's not just about Obama, but the corrupt regime he leads:

The truth is that George W. Bush was the Governor of Texas when TNM launched its initiative to say “Adios” to the United States of America. So, it’s really not an Obama thing, okay.

“We’re non-partisan with people from all walks of life,” Texas Nationalist Movement, President Daniel Miller told me in a recent interview. Truth be told, the TNM hasn’t much use for those now running the DNC, nor the GOP.

“Our organization rejects these dividing lines which are artificial. Both major parties fundamentally engage in the same activity,” Miller says. He also adds, “We (TNM) railed against Bush and the Patriot Act, too.”

So, if the Texas Nationalist Movement isn’t about party politics, what is it about? Party politics after all are what makes our Government go round. It’s about the two party system, right? Wrong.

“It’s about people who agree with individual freedom and liberty not putting trust in government,’ Miller says. “How long can people be disenfranchised from government before they say let’s do our own thing. You saw it in the American Revolution and in Texas history.”

Miller goes on to describe the U.S. Government as “overbearing, oppressive, unwielding and unresponsive.”

I think that pretty well covers it.

Click here for more information on the Texas Nationalist Movement.

Obama’s Hell-Ride to War on Iran

Hail Obama, the great peace president! Or maybe not:

Faced with the uncomfortable and politically unacceptable reality that there exists no evidence that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapon, confirmed by his own intelligence community, President Obama has taken a page from the book of his predecessors FDR, LBJ, GWB, and so on: he simply made something really scary-sounding up to justify his push toward war.

This time it is the artificially manufactured hype around an Iranian uranium enrichment facility that is under construction. Keep in mind that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Iran, under Article IV of said treaty, has every right to enrich uranium to its heart’s content. The treaty clearly states: “Nothing in this Treaty shall be interpreted as affecting the inalienable right of all the Parties to the Treaty to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes without discrimination and in conformity with Articles I and II of this Treaty.”

Notice there's not even a murmur about Israel's nuclear stockpile, despite Israel's refusal to allow UN inspectors access to its own actual secret facilities.

Japan Abandons America

Yukio Hatoyama, Japan’s new leader, is leading his country along a new course, one independent of its old occupier. After noting the serious economic and military failures of the over-expanded DC empire, this must-read article reveals the underlying motivation behind Japan's new assertiveness:

Being allied with America has become a problem for Japan.

The new prime minister is no doubt asking himself: How do I protect Japan’s interests? The distant Americans sit 5,500 miles across the Pacific Ocean. One billion Chinese could fly to Tokyo for breakfast, Taiwan for lunch, and back home for kung pao dinner before America’s fastest jets could make it much past Hawaii.

In the same article, Hatoyama answered his own question: “[W]e must not forget our identity as a nation located in Asia,” he said. “I believe that the East Asian region, which is showing increasing vitality, must be recognized as Japan’s basic sphere of being.”

“I also feel that as a result of the failure of the Iraq war and the financial crisis, the era of U.S.-led globalism is coming to an end ….” Hatoyama even said that Japan must “spare no effort to build the permanent security frameworks” essential to creating a new anti-dollar regional Asian currency shared by China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

In case you missed it, that was another powerful reminder that the growing wave of localism and culture is overwhelming the old 20th-century power structure.

The old imperial model is quickly dying, and the time to re-organize into more adaptable, human-scaled political units has arrived.

How social reengineering works

From Your Lying Eyes:

- Democrats push new proposal X
- Republicans claim X will lead to Y
- Democrats claim this is a lie and the proposal clearly prevents Y from happening
- After a passage of some period of time, Y is the norm and those who continue to oppose Y are [insert appropriate anti-reactionary epithet]

Where have we seen this before? The Civil Rights Act, for one. Opponents claimed that it would lead to quotas. Proponents pointed out the act specifically bars quotas. Before we knew what hit us we had the EEOC and affirmative action was ensconsed thoughout the land, prosecuting instances of "disparate impact." Opponents are accused of bigotry.

When the immigration reform act was passed in 1965, Ted Kennedy promised Americans it would not lead to a shift in the nation's ethnic balance. Well, a dramatic shift has indeed occurred. Imagine arguing on TV today that immigration is a problem because it has changed our ethnic make-up.

Yes. Just imagine.

I can only add that Republicans are just as guilty of initiating social reengineering. It was Everett Dirksen who rammed the 1964 Civil Rights Bill through the Senate, Reagan championed amnesty for illegal alien invaders in 1986, and W the Magnificent did his utmost to amnesty the illegal alien invaders who poured into the country after Reagan rolled out the welcome mat for them.

All in pursuit of a more perfect union, I'm told.

Why states' rights and secession still make sense

And why secession is making even more sense every day:

If divorce is considered preferable to a marriage that can't be fixed, might not divorce also be preferable to a political union that has failed as well? The Jeffersonian, decentralist philosophy and all-American radicalism I embraced fully in my youth makes even more sense today than in 1999. Whether revisiting states' rights or going the route of full-blown secession, it would be far more logical to allow the many, very different parts of this country to pursue their own visions than to keep pretending we are all looking through the same lens. And looking back on my own past, I am reminded that any future South worth avenging would do well to revisit its own radical heritage — so that the principles of limited government might rise again.

Welcome to the future.

Huge Bust in Los Angeles Targets Anti-Black Street Gang

It's not often that the Southern Poverty Law Center gets a story straight, but when they do, I think it should be noticed:

The Avenues is a largely Hispanic gang controlled by the Mexican Mafia from within the California state prison system. The 222-page indictment unsealed Tuesday describes how the group tries to terrorize blacks who venture into its territory in Northeast Los Angeles. “Neighborhoods controlled by the Avenues gang are frequently ‘tagged’ with racist threats directed against African-Americans that are intended to intimidate African-Americans and prevent African-Americans from living in the neighborhood,” it said. “Avenues gang members also confront African-Americans with threats of violence and murder in order to intimidate and prevent African-Americans from residing in or entering the neighborhoods controlled by the Avenues gang.”

Time for emergency action! Mark Potok needs to send out a fundraising letter so the SPLC can air-drop "Teaching Tolerance" packets into California prisons.

Government vs. community

This story manages to be outrageous, comical, and illuminating at the same time:

The Department of Human Services says Michigan homes must be licensed as day-care facilities if the homeowner watches children on a regular basis, no matter if they're babysitting all day or for just a few minutes.

"Last Wednesday I received a letter that said I was breaking the law," said Nancy Snyder. Snyder received the letter from the state for allowing her friends' children to come into her home as they wait for the school bus.

"It said that if I was it would be fines and imprisonment," said Snyder.

The possibility of fines and imprisonment come after Snyder would watch the kids for a few minutes a day when they had to leave for work.

"I think it's very sad that we can't help each other out in a community where we're all friends and close and let our kids play," said neighbor Mindy Rose.

Well, Mindy, that's what these parasites do -- if natural social bonds continue to be the basis of how neighbors interact, there'd be nothing for government bureaucrats to do. That's why all levels of government -- which are ultimately beholden to the Supreme Soviet in DC -- encourage diversity, the greatest solvent of voluntary, spontaneous social harmony. That's their prime directive: Sabotage natural, self-directing social organization in order to increase the need for more government control.

Administration Will Cut Border Patrol Deployed on U.S-Mexico Border

Someone's been doing their job too well -- at least by DC's standards:

Even though the Border Patrol now reports that almost 1,300 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border is not under effective control, and the Department of Justice says that vast stretches of the border are “easily breached,” and the Government Accountability Office has revealed that three persons “linked to terrorism” and 530 aliens from “special interest countries” were intercepted at Border Patrol checkpoints last year, the administration is nonetheless now planning to decrease the number of Border Patrol agents deployed on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Besides, if you never want a serious crisis to go to waste, it makes sense to allow more crises.

But the people of the sovereign States have another option -- to bolster their own forces at the Mexican border, a process already begun in Texas, and reassert control over their militias to do the job DC refuses to do.

Fire truck hits man it was sent to rescue, department says

A Chris Rock joke comes to life:

A St. Petersburg fire truck heading to a call of a bleeding man apparently ran over the man.

According to St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, the department received a call about 3:45 p.m. today about a "person bleeding" in the 400 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South. That location is about a block from the fire station.

Mark Potok was right!

Ron Paul supporters continue to terrorize American citizens. Hosam Maher Husein Smadi was arrested for trying to set off a "car bomb today at Fountain Place, a 60-story skyscraper in downtown Dallas." Meanwhile, Talib Islam was "arrested in Springfield, Illinois, and charged with attempted murder of federal officers."

And today in New York, the FBI continues to learn more about the terror plot masterminded by Ron Paul extremist Najibullah Zazi, who had bomb-making components in his possession when arrested.

Why did I scoff when Mark Potok tried to warn me about the Ron Paul menace? Why?

ACORN scandal taking toll on group's N. Carolina office

From my "Awwwww!" file:

North Carolina's ACORN office has had to lay off all eight of its employees in the wake of a scandal that has rocked the national office of the grass-roots organizing group. ...

In Washington, hidden-camera videos made this summer by two young conservative activists that appear to show ACORN workers in other states encouraging illegal behavior have led to federal inquiries and inspired Congress to act to cut off much of the national organization's federal funding.

Say, what about how the Treason Lobby encourages illegal behavior by encouraging illegal alien invaders to "Come on down"?

More on this juicy leftist scandal at The Indentured Servant Girl.

Hooray, Mr. President!

I know, you think you're looking at an elementary school indoctrination session in the People's Republic of North Korea. But no, it's the People's Republic of New Jersey. And the kids are chanting some pretty catchy lyrics:

"Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!
Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama"

Well, I have only one response: "Mmm, mmm, mm!"

Quote of the day

Pictured above: burned-out home of white Zimbabwean farmer -- the REAL Temple of Democracy, from CNN report.

"Why do they want to remove me when I've complied with everything they want? What more do they want other than for me to pack my bags and leave and if that's the case, then admit that that is the policy. Pass a law: no whites are allowed to farm."
White farmer in Zimbabwe

What to Do When Your Neighbor Displays Hate Symbols

From DiversityInc's feature entitled, "Ask the White Guy":

I have question about stormfront logos. Do they incorporate what looks like a Celtic lion coat of arms in any of their affiliated groups? I'm only curious because I have recently discovered a close neighbor who is displaying a Confederate flag as well as what I'm sure is a Celtic lion coat of arms. Any information on this would be highly appreciated.

This person clearly does not recognize the Scottish Rampant Lion:

Check out the White Guy's answer:

No doubt that the Celtic Cross (not the lion), the Confederate Battle Flag and other symbols such as the cross with bent arms (up) are used by white supremacists, skinheads, nativists and neo-Nazis. On the other hand, for some people, those symbols have meaning that is NOT racist or nativist and they're displayed by people not in those groups and who are not sympathetic to those groups/movements. Finally, some people simply use those symbols ignorantly.

I will add that people who have neo-Nazi, nativist and/or white-supremacist opinions are not necessarily violent and may bear no ill-intent to someone who is not "white."

However, be careful: Those symbols are often used by people who are either very violent or are associated with people who are.

Later in the column, he's congratultated for being so open-minded about the topic. After all, he even asked his friend Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center about the Confederate Battleflag. You can't accuse DiversityInc of not doing their homework.

DiversityInc's home page features articles with such titles as "Asians at Work: How Heritage Shapes Careers: Ascend's Executive Director Catherine Law shares how her culture influenced her career path," and how you can obtain "valuable information on the LGBT community you can use to make the business case at work." And there's a special section on celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, as well as a piece promoting Obama's wonderful health plan.

For extra laughs, don't miss this video of Condi Rice, of all people, being inducted into DivesityInc's "Hall of Shame" for liking Fuzzy Zoeller and for not making a bigger deal about golf's lack of diversity (note the offensive use of the Confederate flag in the video).

But nothing about Southern culture, except as the very image of evil. I wonder why?

New York governor blasts Long Island leader on hate crimes

It's just amazing how the slightest deviation from the Open Borders/Diversity agenda makes one guilty of "hate crimes." Witness what's happened to Steve Levy of Long Island:

He may not be President Obama’s favorite, but at least New York Gov. David Paterson has his cojones in the right place when it comes to anti-immigrant hate crimes. Paterson reportedly lashed out this weekend at a prominent fellow New York Democrat, Steve Levy, for failing to adequately address the hateful anti-immigrant climate in Suffolk County, Long Island, where Levy serves as the top elected official. ...

The Southern Poverty Law Center recently dubbed Levy the “chief enabler” of the ugly nativist atmosphere in Suffolk.

That's because being an "alienist" is always a good thing, and trying to enforce immigration law is "nativist," which is always bad. Very bad.

Levy’s office says the center’s characterizations of the situation in Suffolk are one-sided, and fail to take into account Levy’s anti-hate initiatives, like pro-tolerance public announcements and school curricula.

See? No matter how desperately one tries to toe the party line, any action that does not welcome illegal alien invaders is condemned as "hate."

But this last paragraph is just too much:

Steve Levy [is] rumored to be considering the attorney general race. If he does, he may need to rehabilitate himself in the eyes of immigrants, just as the former upstate immigration hardliner Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand had to do when picked to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate, representing all of New York.

Yes, it's vital that an ambitious politician work for PEOPLE WHO CANNOT VOTE!

My head hurts.

All that needs to be said about Charles Johnson

He admires the noxious philosophy of Irving Kristol:

One of the great conservative intellectuals, often called the “godfather of neoconservatism,” Irving Kristol has died at the age of 89.

Lou Dobbs promotes secession

Threatened by spiralling national debt, a floodtide of illegal alien invaders (coaxed on by our traitorous corporate and political leaders), and a Federal government that's hell-bound to deepen its reach into our lives, the American people are looking for relief. Fortunately, it's within our grasp. The fact that a growing number of prominent people are recognizing States' Rights and secession as legitimate is the greatest sign that the fight for liberty is gaining momentum.

National Launch of "Bring the Guard Home! It's the Law."

We were happy to report on the "Bring the Guard Home" movement earlier. As I said at that time, this is a movement whose success will enhance our efforts to break away from DC's deadly grip.

via The New Beginning

Hispanic journalists: Don't say "illegal aliens"!

After all, they're just "undocumented":

As the heated debates over health care and immigration reform collide, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists calls on our nation's news media to stop using the dehumanizing term "illegals" as a noun to refer to undocumented immigrants. ..

In addition, NAHJ has always denounced the use of the degrading terms "alien" and "illegal alien" to describe undocumented immigrants because it casts them as adverse, strange beings, inhuman outsiders who come to the U.S. with questionable motivations. "Aliens" is a bureaucratic term that should be avoided unless used in a quote.

OK, you win. I won't use the term "illegals" any more. From now on, it's "illegal alien invaders."

NC congessman's change of heart

More proof that the tectonic plates are shifting. Jingoism, reconstruction, and nation-building are out. Here's an indication of how far out they are:

Walter B. Jones has sent more than 8,000 letters of sympathy to the survivors of U.S. service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Republican Congressman from North Carolina keeps writing them – in part as penance, he says, for the vote for war he cast on Oct. 10, 2002.

"I think I have been forgiven," he told me in a recent interview, with a rare note of hope, "through all those letters. I really do." ...

Jones, 66, a Catholic, believes his opposition is rooted in both the Constitution and the Bible; it’s the morally right thing to do.

"I want to do what I think my Lord wants me to do,” Jones told Mother Jones magazine in early 2006.

Talk like that must have been double battery acid to the ears of Iraq war cheerleader Christopher Hitchens, an avowed atheist who the year before had called Jones a "political and moral cretin" for his change of heart.

But while Hitchens today is debating Catholic cardinals and rattling the saber for a confrontation with Iran, Jones has survived two reelection efforts in a rural, conservative district that’s home to Fort Bragg, a U.S. Army installation and major war feeder. He attributes his success to his honesty, and perhaps just a little to the fact that people are now realizing he might be right, after all.

So while the war continues to attract leftist atheists and war fetishists, regular Americans are (finally!) grasping the illegality and futility of this war. Public support for this ill-considered war is sinking, our military is worn out, and we and our children's children are in hock to the People's Republic.

And wanting to continue down this road is the "patriotic" thing to do?

45,000 more troops needed to avoid failure in Afghanistan

Sounds reasonable. I can't think of any other use for that money than to delay inevitable defeat. Can you? Besides, Communist China will be glad to lend us the money.

The problem with multiculturalism

... is that it opens us up to Third-World terror attacks. Even the New York Times admits this in its report on the latest terror threat:

What has troubled federal prosecutors and the F.B.I. is the belief that Mr. Zazi embodies what concerns them most: a Westernized militant, trained by Al Qaeda in Pakistan, whose experience and legal resident status in the United States give him the freedom to operate freely, yet attract little attention.

So now even the New York Times questions the wisdom of DC's policy of "Invade the world, invite the world."

Rush Limbaugh on Count Potokula

via Saberpoint:

"Now let's go to this Potok kook. This guy is a genuine, off-the-wall lunatic. He's at the Southern Poverty Law Center. He was on Hardboiled last night with Chris Matthews. And this guy Potok is an embarrassment of a human being.

Okay, so you there heard this despicable embarrassment of a human being, Mark Potok, from the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Project.

So I'm doing a total parodic rant. I mean, the sarcasm is dripping -- And this bottom feeder at the Southern Poverty Law Center, Mark Potok, is putting it out there that I made a call for segregated buses."

Love it!

The Little Green Meltdown

If you haven't kept up with the meltdown of the pro-war, any-war crowd, you've been missing some of the grandest entertainment on the 'net (see here, here, and here, for example).

Seems Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, though he was all for the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, can no longer tolerate his conservative allies who also want to halt Third-World immigration in order to preserve Western, Christian culture. Johnson, of course, is the more logically consistent here -- Bush & Co. always justified their wars as egalitarian, globalist crusades aimed at crushing backward (traditional) cultures, with just enough fabrications about protecting Americans from attack to justify a pre-emptive war. Patriotic conservatives who blindly followed the president and supported his aggressive wars have recoiled from Johnson's accusations that they're "racist" and "white supremacist." They counter by accusing him of betraying conservatism and having mutated into a leftist.

The conservative bloggers are wrong -- again. Charles Johnson hasn't changed. What's happened is that they were fooled. In fact, now that DC's splendid little wars aren't fun anymore, the unnatural coalition that backed them is falling apart. What else but a nation-building crusade wrapped up in patriotic language could induce well-meaning, patriotic Americans to do the bidding of lefties such as Christopher Hitchens, Charles Johnson, Hillary Clinton, and Irv Kristol?

The Iraq and Afghan adventures were conceived as classic leftist projects to destroy traditional societies and reconstruct them into models of egalitarianism. The Neocons, who're nothing but body-snatching leftists, were going to accomplish what LBJ failed to do with his Great Society/Vietnam campaigns. The Neocons intended to impose their world democratic revolution at home and abroad -- that's why they supported amnesty for illegal aliens at home while American soldiers died trying to remake the Middle East. Those wars took more resources away from Americans and placed them in the hands of the central government, as all wars do. The additional powers our handlers in DC have appropriated, including domestic spying and "preventive detention" for enemies of the government, are now in the hands of Obama and his cronies.

The party's over, the bill's due, and now there's a huge mess to clean up. Folks like Charles Johnson have woken up next to what they consider coyote-ugly bedmates. No wonder he's chewing his arm off.

Secession movement spreads well beyond Texas

Secession -- it's not just for Texas anymore. Here's a glance at active North American secession movements -- but look who they left out:

Fanned by angry contempt for Washington, secession movements have sprouted up in perhaps more than a dozen states in recent years. In Vermont, retired economics professor Thomas Naylor leads the Second Vermont Republic, a self-styled citizens network dedicated to extracting the sparsely populated New England state from "the American Empire."

And on the other side of the continent, Northwestern separatists envision a "Republic of Cascadia" carved out of Oregon, Washington and the Canadian province of British Columbia.

While most Americans dismiss the breakaway sentiments, sociologists and political experts say they are part of a larger anti-Washington wave that is rapidly spreading across the country.

That "anti-Washington wave" is manifesting itself in other ways, not just in efforts to break away from DC's political control. As the wasteful, senseless war in Afghanistan spirals toward inevitable defeat, nearly half the States are looking at recalling their militias from DC's control, as the same article notes:

A campaign called "Bring the Guard Home" is pushing legislation in 23 states that would empower governors to recall state National Guard units from Iraq on the premise that the federal law authorizing such deployments has expired. "It’s gaining momentum, to say the least," said Jim Draeger, program manager for Peace Action Wisconsin. He said the initiative has a respectable chance of passing the Legislature in his state.

In fact, recalling the State Guard should be step number one for any practical secession movement. That's why the anti-war movement is one that all advocates of self-government should actively support.

Obama open to newspaper bailout bill

I guess this was inevitable:

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) has introduced S. 673, the so-called "Newspaper Revitalization Act," that would give outlets tax deals if they were to restructure as 501(c)(3) corporations. That bill has so far attracted one cosponsor, Cardin's Maryland colleague Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D).

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs had played down the possibility of government assistance for news organizations, which have been hit by an economic downturn and dwindling ad revenue. ...

Obama said that good journalism is "critical to the health of our democracy" ...

The corporate media, especially the dead-trees, are already pro-big government, pro-amnesty, pro-war, anti-Southern, and slap-happy for Obama. Can you imagine how bad they'll be once the Feds start propping them up?

Sweden slashes income tax further to boost jobs

Remember the good old days when the United States was conservative and Sweden was the socialist wreck? From PowerLine:

We noted here that the United States has the most progressive income tax system in the developed world. That's right--embarrassingly enough, more progressive than Sweden's.

Actually, a generation of economic stagnation has taught the Swedes a lesson. They've learned that government does not produce wealth, and if they want more people to work, jobs have to pay better, after taxes. Sweden is therefore in the midst of a series of tax cuts aimed at preserving the long-term viability of its economy.

Irving Kristol, Godfather of Conservatism, Dies

Irving Kristol was the architect of Neoconservatism. He will be remembered for adapting his Trotskyite ideal of global democratic revolution to the economic and military power of the multicultural state -- that is, the former republic of the United States. His militant ideology provided the intellectual justification for the "liberations" (actually, invasions) of Iraq and Afghanistan (and maybe Iran).

Too bad his venomous ideology can't be buried with him.

ACORN's Illegal Alien Home Loan Racket

Here's the REAL scandal: ACORN is just another independent contractor doing the Federal government's dirty work, all under the cover of promoting the most noble ideals. While Blackwater murders innocent Iraqis in the name of liberating that wretched nation, while the Southern Poverty Law Center slanders patriotic Americans in the name of promoting diversity, ACORN dupes American taxpayers into subsidizing a leftist constituency in the name of civil rights -- and DC has been its biggest sugar daddy.

The real point is that James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles have given outnumbered conservatives a powerful tactic for exposing the seemingly all-powerful diversity racket and firing up the silenced majority. We're up against a larger, but pampered, and therefore duller force, a force we can whip with our wits. As Stonewall Jackson counseled, "Never fight against heavy odds, if by any possible maneuvering you can hurl your own force on only a part, and that the weakest part, of your enemy and crush it. Such tactics will win every time, and a small army may thus destroy a large one in detail, and repeated victory will make it invincible."

Stonewall would be proud of O'Keefe and Giles.

Pagan 'King' Has Council GOP Nod

For those who still imagine the Republican Party is a Christian organization:

Dan Halloran, the Republican candidate for City Council facing primary winner Kevin Kim in the 19th District, already has a leadership role in a vast community that very few people know about - or understand.

Halloran is the "First Atheling," or King, of Normandy, a branch of the Theod faith of pre-Christian Heathen religions assembled in the Greater New York area. A group of dedicated fellow pagans swear their allegiance to him through oaths of fidelity, allowing luck from a series of ancient gods - specifically the "Norse" or "Germanic" gods Odin, Tyr and Freyr - to pass through the King to his kinsmen.

'Racist' claims defuse once powerful word

I couldn't agree more with this analysis:

Everybody's racist, it seems.

Republican Rep. Joe Wilson? Racist, because he shouted "You lie!" at the first black president. Health care protesters, affirmative action supporters? Racist. And Barack Obama? He's the "Racist in Chief," wrote a leader of the recent conservative protest in Washington.

But if everybody's racist, is anyone?

Exactly what we in the League of the South have been saying for the last 15 years. When we denounce a central government that ignores Constitutional restraints on its power over the people, we're branded as "racists." But as more and more people take to the streets -- and the polls -- to resist an out-of-control Federal government, they're also dismissed as illegitimate because their motive is nothing but irrational hatred -- which makes them terrorist suspects. Welcome to our world.

The beauty of all this is that the accusers only reveal who they are, and what their actual motives are: to forcibly silence those who dare dissent.

I'd say their time is up.

Joe Wilson was right!

From the Washington Times story Obama: Legalize illegals to get them health care:

President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.

He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered - a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants.

"Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don't simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken," Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.

Surprised? Welcome to the globalist revolution: government control of everything, demographic upheaval, and a central government with the power to enforce all of it.

Veterans Day Parade Bans Confederate Flag

Yeah, the parade organizers know that TECNHICALLY, Confederate soldiers are American veterans. But they changed their minds (or did they have their minds changed for them?). You decide:

Initially, the organizers – the Homestead/ Florida City Chamber of Commerce's Military Affairs Committee – had agreed to allow the flag. But they reversed that decision on Wednesday after Jeffrey Wander, the committee chairman, said he sent out emails asking for people's opinions. A majority said he should ban the flag.

What "majority"? It's not all that hard to figure out:

"I can even envision that there won't be a parade after all of the attempts by the NAACP to threaten the sponsors of the parade into submission," Greg Kalof of the Sons of Confederate Veterans said in an e-mail to the newspaper. "It's a sad state of affairs when a veterans group, like the Sons of Confederate Veterans, are told that they cannot carry the one flag that represents their group, their ancestors and their heritage."

But many cheered the decision to ban the flag.

"Obviously, I am pleased to see that the wider membership of the MAC had voted the way one had hoped it would vote," said Brad Brown, political action chair of the Miami-Dade branch of the NAACP.

In a multicultural empire, some cultures are more equal than others.

Obama Backs Extending Patriot Act Spy Provisions

Here's more information on the sections of the USA-PATRIOT Act that Obama wants to renew. From Wired:

*A secret court, known as the FISA court, may grant “roving wiretaps” without the government identifying the target. Generally, the authorities must assert that the target is an agent of a foreign power and/or a suspected terrorist. The government said Tuesday that 22 such warrants — which allow the monitoring of any communication device — have been granted annually.

*The FISA court may grant warrants for “business records,” from banking to library to medical records. Generally, the government must assert that the records are relevant to foreign intelligence gathering and/or a terrorism investigation. The government said Tuesday that 220 of these warrants had been granted between 2004 and 2007. It said 2004 was the first year those powers were used.

*A so-called “lone wolf” provision, enacted in 2004, allows FISA court warrants for the electronic monitoring of an individual even without showing that the person is an agent of a foreign power or a suspected terrorist. The government said Tuesday it has never invoked that provision, but said it wants to keep the authority to do so.

The Federal thug lurking in the background is doing the same job he did during Bush-Cheney. Only the name that signs his checks has changed.

What REAL Communists want

From the People's Weekly World "About" page:

We are partisan to the working class, racially and nationally oppressed peoples, women, youth, seniors, international solidarity, Marxism and socialism. We enjoy a special relationship with the Communist Party USA, founded in 1919, and publish its news and views.

Seems the People's Weekly World also has a "special relationship" with the Southern Poverty Law Center. And why not? Both are tireless advocates for illegal alien invaders, who are the boots on the ground for globalism, which Pat Buchanan identifies as the enemy of heritage and tradition.

So it naturally follows that avowed communists rely on their friends in the SPLC for ammunition against those who resist globalization. From the latest issue of People's Weekly World:

Despite its name FAIR opposes immigration reform. In fact, the positions of a number of its founders and board members have pushed the Southern Policy Law Center, a human rights organization that monitors the activities of extremist hate groups, to label FAIR a hate group since 2007.

"When we put somebody on our hate group list, it's a very, very serious matter for us," Heidi Beirich of the Southern Poverty Law Center told reporters. "The reason that we finally added FAIR to this list is that the track record of FAIR is so massive."

Now that's a laugh -- the SPLC was "pushed" into smearing a prominent border security organization as a "hate group," which really means the organization fails to support amnesty for illegal aliens. I can just imagine Empress Heidi wiping back a tear as she regretfully concludes that FAIR did not measure up to her noble standards for approved public discourse.

What a crock.

Justice for leftists ...

... ain't the same as justice for everyone else. We have two recent examples in the news.

First, there's Jesse Jackson, Jr, whom the FBI identified as the candidate who offered $1,000,000 to Rod Blagojevich for the US Senate seat Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was hawking. Seems this hater of all things Southern will not be prosecuted.

Then there's Haley Koch, who was arrested for disorderly conduct after she and other multicult thugs disrupted Tom Tancredo's talk at UNC-Chapel Hill by screaming threats and insults at the former congressman. One of the goons smashed a window, and Tancredo exited the room. Well, it turns out Koch, one of the ringleaders, will not have to pay for her crime.

Isn't it wonderful to live in a nation of equal laws? I'm sure if a conservative patriotic group trespassed into a La Raza meeting tonight and threatened its speakers, they'd go unpunished, too. I know -- I think I'll go to an NAACP meeting tonight and threaten its speakers and see what happens. Then I'll go lie down on the train tracks and see if the train stops for me.

Quote of the day

Why any self respecting Southron would consider himself an american is beyond me. To love a country that hates you isn't patriotism. It's servility. HaroldC, from "Socialist thuggery raises its ugly head"

Welcome to the fight!

Congressman Suggests People Will Don 'White Hoods' If Wilson Not Rebuked

Here's my nominee for hypocrite of the week award:

Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst last week drew new recriminations from his colleagues Tuesday, with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus suggesting that a failure to rebuke the South Carolina Republican would be tantamount to supporting the most blatant form of organized racism in American history.

Making an obvious reference to the Ku Klux Klan, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will be putting on "white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside" if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked.

So -- Johnson's "a member of the Congressional Black Caucus," huh? Isn't that the powerful political clique that rejected a Jewish man's application to join that group because, "The only reason he wants to join is that he wants to get money for Israel" ? Oh, yes -- that Congressional Black Caucus.

Obama Supports Extending Provisions of the Patriot Act

This would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic:

The Obama administration supports extending three key provisions of the Patriot Act that are due to expire at the end of the year, the U.S. Justice Department told Congress in a letter made public Tuesday.

Lawmakers and civil rights groups had been pressing the Democratic administration to say whether it wants to preserve the post-Sept. 11 law's authority to access business records, as well as monitor so-called "lone wolf" terrorists and conduct roving wiretaps.

The provision on business records was long criticized by rights groups as giving the government access to citizens' library records, and a coalition of liberal and conservative groups complained that the Patriot Act gives the government too much authority to snoop into Americans' private lives.

The League of the South, along with other conservative groups, has long objected to the USA-PATRIOT Act as an open assault on our traditional liberties. The pro-war, any-war crowd screamed "Treason!" at us. But now that a leftist occupies the White House, it's suddenly a bad thing to have no constraints on government power.

Of course, "progressives" are just as hypocritical -- they feared Bush would use the PATRIOT Act against them, but now defend Obama's manhandling of the Bill of Rights -- after all, now they have a fellow progressive in power to take care of Ron Paul supporters, as well as those "extremists" who want to enforce existing immigration laws, and all other potential right-wing terrorists. All of which again proves our point about how Big Government, no matter who's at the helm, is the real enemy of liberty.

But this section was just too funny:

As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama said he would take a close look at the law, based on his past expertise in U.S. constitutional law.

Back in May, President Obama said legal institutions must be updated to deal with the threat of terrorism, but in a way that preserves the rule of law and accountability.

Obama kept his promise, all right -- he took a close at the PATRIOT Act, and liked what he saw. Unchecked power isn't so bad when you get to use it.

Socialist thuggery raises its ugly head

Take a long, stiff bolt of coffee, or Red Bull, or something. Then sit down and see if you can keep your head from spinning off after reading this:

"Calhoun argued that states could come and go into and out of the Union, whenever they wanted to; that they could secede from the Union at any time and for any reason; and that even if they stayed in the Union they could nullify any law they wanted, again at any time and for any reason. He was also violently opposed to the idea of democracy itself, say that they growing population of the North had no power whatsoever over slavery or any other thing the southern states chose to do, and in fact believed that the Bill or Rights only applied to what the federal government couldn't do--that the states were free to eliminate freedom of speech and religion and other civil liberties. (In fact, most southern states had done exactly that by the time of the Civil War.)

Today we are seeing Calhoun Conservatism spreading throughout the Republican party and the right wing movement. Joe Wilson's thuggishness on Wednesday night and the conservative movement's embrace of his action yesterday are just the latest examples."

Have you ever seen so much naked malevolence and swaggering historical ignorance balled up in one indigestible lump? Looks to me like the socialists are so scared these days, they're taking direct aim at the heart of conservatism -- the South.

I'll swat just one of this buffoon's howlers: anyone who imagines today's Neocons are the heirs of John C. Calhoun knows as little about what the Neocons really believe as he knows about the Constitution. As a matter of fact, the Southern tradition and "Neoconservatism" differ so fundamentally that big-government Neocons openly despise Southerners and their Jeffersonian political traditions.

Lord, give me strength ...

Thanks to Zack for the heads up!

DC: Den of Thieves

Pretty good summary of what is known. How much more do we not know?

$34,000:

The amount of federal taxes that Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner (D)failed to pay during his employment at the International Monetary Fund despite receiving extra compensation and explanatory brochures that described his tax liabilities.

True

$75,000:

The amount of money that the head of the powerful tax-writing committee, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), was forced to report on his taxes after the discovery that he had not reported income from a Dominican Republic rental property. His excuses for the failure started with blaming his wife, then his accountant and finally the fact that he didn't speak Spanish.

True

$93,000:

The INCREASE in the amount of petty cash each of our Congressional representatives voted to give themselves in January 2009 during the height of an economic meltdown. That's a $40 + million INCREASE!

See video here from Fox

$133,900:

The amount Fannie Mae "invested" in Chris Dodd (D-CT), head of the powerful Senate Banking Committee, presumably to repel oversight of the GSE prior to its meltdown. Said meltdown helped touch off the current economic crisis. In only a few years time, Fannie also "invested" over $105,000 in then-Senator Barack Obama.

True

$140,000:

The amount of back taxes and interest that Cabinet nominee Tom Daschle (D) was forced to cough up after the vetting process revealed significant, unexplained tax liabilities.

True

$356,000:

The approximate amount of income and deductions that Daschle (D) was forced to report on his amended 2005 and 2007 tax returns after being caught cheating on his taxes. This includes $255,256 for the use of a car service, $83,333 in unreported income, and $14,963 in charitable contributions.

True

$800,000:

The amount of "sweetheart" mortgages Senate Banking Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) received from Countrywide Financial, the details for which he has refused to release details despite months of promises to do so. Countrywide was once the nation's largest mortgage lender and linked to Government-Sponsored Entities like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Their meltdown precipitated the current financial crisis. Just days ago in Pennsylvania, Countrywide was forced to pay $150,000,000 in mortgage assistance following "a state investigation that concluded that Countrywide relaxed its underwriting standards to sell risky loans to consumers who did not understand them and could not afford them."

True

$1,000,000:

The estimated amount of donations by Denise Rich, wife of fugitive Marc Rich, to Democrat interests and the William J. Clinton Foundation in an apparent quid pro quo deal that resulted in a pardon for Mr. Rich. The pardon was reviewed and blessed by Obama Attorney General and then Deputy AG Eric Holder, despite numerous requests by government officials to turn it down..

True

$12,000,000:

The amount of TARP money provided to community bank OneUnited despite the fact that it did not qualify for funds, and was "under attack from its regulators for allegations of poor lending practices and executive-pay abuses." It turns out that Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), a key contributor to the Fannie Mae meltdown, just happens to be married to=2 0one of the bank's former directors.

True

$23,500,000:

The upper range of net worth Rep. Allan Mollohan (D-WV) accumulated in four years time according to The Washington Post through earmarks of "tens of millions of dollars to groups associated with his own business partners."

True

$2,000,000,000:

($2 billion) the approximate amount of money that House Appropriations Chairman D avid Obey (D-WI) is earmarking related to his son's lobbying efforts. The son, Craig Obey , is "a top lobbyist for the nonprofit group" that would receive a roughly $2 billion component of the "Stimulus" package.

True

$3,700,000,000:

($3.7 billion) not to be outdone, this is the estimated value of various defense contracts awarded to a company controlled by the husband of Rep. Diane Feinstein (D-CA). Despite an obvious conflict-of-interest as "a member of the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee, Sen. Feinst ein voted for appropriations worth billions to her husband's firms?."

True

$4,190,000,000:

($4.19 billion) the amount of money in the so-called "Stimulus" package devoted to fraudulent voter registration ACORN group under the auspices of "Community Stabilization Activities". ACORN is currently the subject of a RICO suit in Ohio .

True

$1,646,000,000,000 ($1.646 trillion):

The approximate amount of annual ; United States exports endangered by the "Stimulus" package, which provides a "Buy American" stricture. According to international trade experts, a "US-EU trade war looms": which could result in a worldwide economic depression reminiscent of that touched off by the protectionist Smoot-Hawley Act.

True

It's becoming a culture of corruption and stupidity. In addition, these folks appear to be above the law. All of the aforementioned are still in office, living like the royalty they think they are.

Remember: This all happened in just the FIRST QUARTER 2009.

Rotten ACORNs Don't Fall Far From The Tree

Here's how our socialist government spreads its power and influence -- by supporting numerous organizations that successfully accrue political influence and money for its supporters. Many feel ACORN epitomizes the corruption that reigns in DC:

It is time for America to stand up and say "ENOUGH DAMNIT!"

Last week Glenn Beck blew the doors off a story that he had been cooking for a while: an undercover independent film-maker and associate had walked into an ACORN office pretending to be a pimp and prostitute and "asked for help" in cheating the government by obtaining both a housing subsidy and committing tax fraud.

But that's not where they stopped - they disclosed "intent" to bring in underage girls from El Salvador as the essence of their "business" to serve as prostitutes as well.

In short, they declared themselves as traffickers in the sexual abuse of children and asked this government-supported and funded "community organization" - an organization that Barack Obama was associated with very closely in his time as a Chicago "machine" politician before he ran for President - for help.

Instead of being tossed out on their tail (or having the cops called) they instead received advice from ACORN on how to swindle the United States Federal Government in the promulgation and practice of their alleged-unlawful scheme!

Some gig, huh? So how can conservative, pro-liberty activists and entrepreneurs counter-attack? With a community-activism program that builds a coalition of small businessowners, local food advocates, farmers, and devolutionists.

Revealed: The ghost fleet of the recession

Prosperity is right around the corner, says Obama.

No, it's hiding for its life in this harbor:

The biggest and most secretive gathering of ships in maritime history lies at anchor east of Singapore. Never before photographed, it is bigger than the U.S. and British navies combined but has no crew, no cargo and no destination - and is why your Christmas stocking may be on the light side this year.

Key Blagojevich witness found dead

From the "hmmmm" file:

Christopher Kelly, a key figure in the federal corruption investigation of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, has been found dead. ... The former fundraiser for ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich spoke to a police officer before he died, Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch said Sunday. ... Kelly told the officer that he recently had surgery on his “private parts.” Welch said police did not know what type of surgery.

All I can say is ... hmmmm.

Texas governor sends Rangers to Mexico border

This is what we're talking about:

Special teams of Texas Rangers will be deployed to the Texas-Mexico border to deal with increasing violence because the federal government has failed to address growing problems there, Gov. Rick Perry said Thursday.

"It is an expansive effort with the Rangers playing a more high-profile role than they've ever played before," Perry said of the Department of Public Safety's elite investigative unit.

The forces, dubbed "Ranger recon" teams, are the latest effort "to fill the gap that's been left by the federal government's ongoing failure to adequately secure our international border with Mexico," he said.

While DC plots amnesty, it deliberately blocks efforts to stem the tide of illegal aliens, offering only excuses, as the above story illustrates. Local government, the remaining sovereignty of the people of the States, offers our only chance to stop DC's agenda of demographic revolution. DC has failed its Constitutional duty to protect the States from invasion, so it's up to the people of the States to withdraw the authority delegated to the Federal government and resume full self-government, starting with halting the onslaught from Latin America. The first step has been taken.

"You lie!" is a winner!

The man who yelled "You lie!" at Obama has become a hero almost as big as the Iraqi who tossed his shoes at George W. Bush:

A senior GOP official said Wilson, who apologized to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel after the health-care speech but has since refused a more public apology, has turned his own previous sleepy campaign machine into an Web-friendly effort. Just as liberals have poured cash into the campaign of Rob Miller, who lost to Wilson by almost eight percentage points in 2008, conservatives are pouring contributions into Wilson's campaign at an astonishing rate.

Is America coming apart?

It sure looks like it to Pat Buchanan:

One part of America loves her history, another reviles it as racist, imperialist and genocidal. Old heroes like Columbus, Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee are replaced by Dr. King and Cesar Chavez.

But the old holidays, heroes and icons endure, as the new have yet to put down roots in a recalcitrant Middle America. ...

The European-Christian core of the country that once defined us is shrinking, as Christianity fades, the birth rate falls and Third World immigration surges. Globalism dissolves the economic bonds, while the cacophony of multiculturalism displaces the old American culture.

"E pluribus unum" – out of many, one - was the national motto the men of '76 settled upon. One sees the pluribus. But where is the unum? One sees the diversity. But where is the unity?

And I believe the attempt to reconstruct America into a multicultural paradise will inevitably rip apart what's left of it. Then the world's greatest exporter of military terror will be no more, and a hundred human-scaled city-states and bio-regions will replace the last evil empire.

Out of diversity, many.

Only one way to stop Obamacare

Resistance is building to this unconstitutional Federal power grab. People are rallying around States' Rights in the South:

More than thirty states have quietly passed laws and resolutions reasserting states rights under our Bill of Rights. The “State Sovereignty/Tenth Amendment” movement is growing and it’s turning back Obama’s Marxism.

More than thirty mostly “flyover” states are asserting their individual sovereignty by citing the rights of states guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution. This use of the Bill of Rights will be the club freedom loving Americans will use to beat back Obama’s centralized government plans. ...

Texas and Oklahoma have already passed laws and made moves that show they are willing to reconfigure their governments to secede in everything but a formal declaration. It’s not difficult to envision other states, like those of the old Confederacy following suit.

Big and powerful states like Texas will carry the fight against liberal legal challenges, but ABS (All But Seceded) status will spread from state to state and the deep Blue states that stand with Obama will wilt and die economically.

What we need to do now is to identify the leading voices of the Sovereignty/Tenth Amendment and back them. Write to these courageous Americans and support what they call for regardless of what state you are from or they are from.

Meanwhile, up North:

On a Thursday night Republican Governors Association conference call with conservative activists, moderated by Erick Erickson of RedState, Gov. Tim Pawlenty broached the possibility of “asserting the 10th Amendment” to keep Minnesota from fully participating in a health care plan passed by Congress and signed by President Obama.

The word is out. Pass it on.

Southern With a Vengeance

Folks are frightened these days at a central government that's hell-bound to expand its power over us. DC has gobbled up huge chunks of auto manufacturing, finance, banking, and now has its sights on the health industry. No wonder they rally around a congressman who expressed their repressed anger when he called out "You lie!" during Obama's slick sales pitch for even more government expansion.

What can stop Leviathan? Electing Republicans? Please. It was a Republican (W) who paved the way for Obama by foisting Federal control over education (No Child Left Behind) and health care (Prescription Drugs for Seniors) in the name of conservatism. W also enabled dangerous measures, such as the Patriot Act, which boost the central government's ability to spy on its citizens.

Jack Hunter, the "Southern Avenger," lays out the only practical, logical course of action:

If divorce is considered preferable to an unsalvageable marriage, might not divorce also be preferable to an unsalvageable political union? Jeffersonian, decentralist philosophy, an all-American radicalism I embraced fully in my youth, makes even more sense today than in 1999. Whether revisiting states’ rights or going the route of full-blown secession, it would be far more logical to allow the many, very different parts of this country to pursue their own, many different American visions, than to keep pretending we are all looking through the same lens. And looking back on my own past, I am reminded that any future South worth avenging would do well to revisit its own radical heritage - so that the principles of limited government might rise again.

Good to have men like this on board.

Where's my Rebellion?

Sorry about the lack of posts. The last two days have hit the upper registers of craziness. I hate to use four-letter words here, but sometime w-o-r-k gets in the way of my fun. Let's see if things settle down the next couple of days.

Welcome, Wisconsin!

Alexander Stephens was indeed a prophet when he proclaimed, "The cause of the South is the cause of us all." Disgusted with DC's waste, sanctioned state terrorism, and betrayal of the people, Wisconsin Republic seeks "an independent Wisconsin Republic."

And what a better recommendation than this nonsense from a blogger who's outraged that Americans for Prosperity featured the site's founder at one of its rallys. "JB" simply dismisses Wisconsin Republic's goal as "ridiculous," yet refuses to say why:

I have no interest in engaging anyone who thinks that Wisconsin should secede from the Union.

The economic, cultural, and defense arguments brought up by WisconsinRepublic.org are ridiculous and have no place in public discussion. You're interpretation of history is a joke wrapped in a pseudo-intellectual packaging to provide the veneer of legitimacy.

I will not be sucked into offering "compelling logic for [my] claim of lunacy." The burden of proof is entirely on you

You people are the crazy cat ladies of Wisconsin politics: I don't need to have a discussion with you to realize that you're insane -- the smell of cat piss on your clothes is all the evidence I need to determine that.

Wrong -- you made the assertion, and the least you can do is to try to back it up. C'mon -- just try.

The resurgence of the Southern Man

Here are some interesting web sites dedicated to renewing the ideal of the Southern gentleman. The first is Novae Militiae (New Knighthood):

The New Knight is the Christian soldier par excellence, one who loves Christ and his fellow Christian so much that he fears neither hardship nor death in their service. I see in Bernard's New Knight a chivalric model for men today, suggesting a way of life that they should espouse if they are to save both their souls and their civilization.

And this is from an old favorite, the Confederate Colonel, which proclaims these worthwhile objectives:

Our objectives are to promote, encourage, and defend:
• the code of the Southern Gentleman and Southern Lady as guidelines for daily living
• the customs and traditions of The Old South in our homes and in our daily lives
• the tradition of Southern hospitality and gracious living
• the culture, heritage, and symbols of The Old South

We recognize that the code of the Southern Gentleman is best exemplified in the life of Robert E. Lee and other great leaders of the Confederate States of America.

In a corrupted society that glamorizes thuggishness and worships the lowest common denominator, these are much-needed oases of Southern civilization.

Border security activists 1, SPLC 0

Here's more on the Patchogue, New York "hate crime" initially blamed on whites, which turned out to have been perpetrated by an Hispanic who hated the local church. We covered that story in an earlier post. In this follow-up report, the mayor condemns the bias and inflammatory rhetoric that prejudged the case:

On Wednesday, the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil-rights group, issued a scathing report finding that anti-immigrant demagoguery in Suffolk incites violent attacks on Latinos in the county.

In the interview Saturday, Mayor Pontieri said, "What concerns me is that people immediately jump to the conclusion that it’s a white-on-Hispanic hate crime."

He added: "Life is complicated. People don’t always get along." ...

In a statement, Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, an avowed opponent of illegal immigration who was criticized in Wednesday’s report, said: "The apprehension of this individual is proof once again of how aggressive and effective the Suffolk Police Department has been at arresting those suspected of committing these types of horrific acts."

Steve Levy showed class by focusing not on Mark Potok's hatchet job on him, but on the fine job done by the local police. (Click here to send Mr. Levy an email.) However, we haven't seen an apology from Potok. Why is that?

Of course, we know the answer: Inflammability is what the SPLC does.

Photoshop Phunnies!

Obama is fast losing white voters' support

How fast? This fast:

Among white Democrats, Obama’s job approval rating has dropped 11 points since his 100-days mark in April, according to surveys by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. It has dropped by 9 points among white independents and whites over 50, and by 12 points among white women -- all groups that will be targeted by both parties in next year's midterm elections.

"While Obama has a lock on African Americans, his support among white voters seems to be almost in a free fall," said veteran Republican pollster Neil Newhouse.

And guess what? It's because whites are racist. A white president who lusted to expand government and appointed a self-described communist would be enthusiastically supported. Oh, yes.

Quote of the day

"Now, some members of the group, not all of them, some members of the group say that if they can’t get Congress to obey the United States Constitution, they’re going to issue a unilateral declaration of independence, become a separate nation. Now, I don’t know whether that’s going to work. The last time it didn’t work, but the first time in 1776, it did work. And so, I think we’re batting 500 and I’d like to see whether we could break the tie. Whether we could have a sovereign nation."

Dr. Walter Williams, promoting secession on the Rush Limbaugh program. (Be sure to check out the liberal shock and outrage that follows the Williams quote. The panic just under the surface of their condescending comments is priceless!)

China alarmed by US money printing

Wait a minute -- The Communist Party of China knows more about sound currency policies than the economic deities in DC? What's the world coming to?

More at memeorandum.

"Is Your Baby Racist?"

Another gem from Steve Sailer, my favorite iconoclast:

Newsweek runs the most unintentionally funny article of the year on its cover:

See Baby Discriminate
Kids as young as 6 months judge others based on skin color. What's a parent to do?

It's by San Francisco novelist Po Bronson and his wife Ashley Merryman, both terminally SWPL. It's a chapter from their self-help book Nurture Shock, and it explains how to more scientifically indoctrinate your children in the conventional wisdom so they don't slip up and inadvertently say something politically incorrect about race, thus exposing them, and you, to who knows what consequences.

I'm sure parents in Stalin's Soviet Union had similar worries. Bronson and Merryman would no doubt have done land office business peddling advice to kulak parents about how to talk about class so their little ones don't slip up.

All the Emperor's Men

First Van Jones is forced to throw in the towel. Now we're seeing the rapid collapse of the Empire's foreign adventures, which even its loudest cheerleaders cannot deny. Here, National Review's Andrew McCarthy admits the Neocon fantasy of the "global democratic revolution" is dragging US troops toward defeat:

On some level, the democracy hawks may grasp that the threat here involves more than terrorism. But they’ve convinced themselves that if we could just get rid of the terrorists, the rest of the Muslims who abhor us would be brought around by democracy’s light.

It’s a fantasy, and we’re betting our lives on it.

Oddly, the title of his piece, "A Dangerous Delusion," refers only to DC's goal of transforming Afghanistan into Iowa, not to the Neocon ideology itself. Maybe in next month's issue.

Then there's George Will, whose grim pronouncements on the occupation of Afghanistan have received sober endorsements from numerous military leaders:

On the Roundtable today, Will struck back saying "we are going to have a debate and there will be plenty of brass on my side."

He quoted from a recent letter he received from Marine Commandant General Charles Krulak. In the letter, Krulak said he read Will's column and is in "total agreement" with his assessment.

But this warning from the reliably pro-war Michael Yon simply cannot be ignored. While still believing in the ultimate goal, Yon admits Afghan liberation is a crusade DC and its thinning supporters are losing:

The West is losing this war. This has been obvious for more than three years. Less obvious is that in 2009, we are down to the wire. Gen. Stanley McChrystal and others will soon recommend to President Obama the latest treatment for a dying patient.

Meanwhile, allies and Americans are asking themselves why we are here. Some are saying that Al Qaeda is still here or is waiting in the wings to return to its home. Yet Afghanistan was never Al Qaeda's permanent home to begin with. Al Qaeda was just renting a little space here, just as it was renting space in places like Germany and Florida.

Yon is as direct as he can be when he says, "Yet it seems certain the war will be lost if we do not significantly increase troops." Read the economic news and then decide for yourself if "we" can afford that. Here in the real world, "we" are struggling to survive, while the Afghans are struggling against foreign occupation. There's a simple solution to both problems.
