GE accepts $24.9 million in stimulus, fires 18,000 US workers

The criminal conspiracy we call the Federal government continues to shock and astound. Just when you think it cannot sink any lower, or twist that blade in the backs of taxpayers any more, something like this happens:

The Obama administration gave corporate giant General Electric—the parent company of NBC--$24.9 million in grants from the $787-billion economic “stimulus” law President Barack Obama signed in February 2009, according to records posted by the administration at Recovery.gov.

Despite getting $24.9 million from U.S. taxpayers, GE decreased its U.S.-based employees by 18,000 in 2009, according to the company’s 2009 annual report.

According to Standard & Poor's, GE took in $156 billion in revenue in 2009.

This is a perfect example of socialism for the rich and laissez-faire for the poor.

Dutchy reminisces,

Boys, remember that scene in that goofy classic 'Kelly's Heroes' where they had broken through and were sitting on a hill top the next day when one of our fighters strafes the hell out of them and destroys all their equipment?

And the Don Rickles character 'Crap Game', among the smoke and debris as the plane fades away, snarls, "Our hero." as he shoulders the 50 cal. and walks off.

That's EXACTLY how the Feds make me feel EVERY DANG DAY!

The economic elites and the welfare class have so much in common, it's borderline treason that no journalist or pundit has ever mentioned it before.
