Guilt by association beats facts!

Logic and reason have flown the coop in post-American America.

All week, the left has gleefully crowed that because a mass murderer in Norway opposed multiculturalism in Europe, then Americans who want to enforce existing immigration laws are just like Anders Breivik:

Breivik’s extremist views are familiar in America, where hate groups have almost doubled since 2000—but the targets are Latinos and Obama, says the SPLC’s Heidi Beirich.

Right, Heidi -- anyone opposed to open borders is a ticking time bomb. And to think I once accused you of wanting to poison debate on immigration!

In a similar example of rampant simple-mindedness, it turns out that the Army private accused of plotting an attack on his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood thought the Iraq and Afghanistan wars wrong and illegal -- so now war supporters are braying that anybody who utters a word against those wars is a secret jihadist who wants to kill Americans.

Pathetic. Just pathetic.

Liberty and demographics ...

... go hand in hand. Brace yourself for this startling illustration:

Appearing at a luncheon at the Wardman Park Marriott for the National Council of La Raza, the largest Hispanic civil rights organization in the country, Obama sought to shore up support from a critical pillar of the coalition that got him elected in 2008. It did not go as smoothly as the president might have hoped.

After running through his talking points on the debt negotiations, Obama turned his attention to a subject just as thorny: immigration reform. Acknowledging that some civil rights activists have criticized his administration for deporting 1 million undocumented residents, Obama said: “I share your concerns; I understand them. We are responding. We are enforcing flawed laws in the most humane way possible.”

With a nod toward the deadlocked debt talks, he added: “Some want me to bypass Congress and change laws on my own.”

The audience began chanting “Yes, you can!” a play off the president’s 2008 campaign slogan.

That chant, which will grow in fervor and volume as the Latinization of America progresses, will echo in our children's ears when future caudillos rouse Spanish-speaking mobs to action.

Sadly, both the domesticated left and right bow before the multicultural future they proclaim as inevitable and benign. But I'd argue that La Raza's chant begging a strong man to give them what they want is an indication of what we can expect to happen to the Constitutional constraints on government power those "racist" Founders established.

EXCLUSIVE: AWOL Soldier Arrested Over Concerns of Possible Second Attack On Fort Hood

This is unbelievable. We're wasting precious time and resources investigating a possible second attack on Fort Hood?

Why are we harassing harmless Muslims in the military when the Southern Poverty Law Center is warning us that there are conservatives running around loose?

The League of the South National Conference is this weekend!

There's still time to register for the 18th annual League of the South conference, which will be held in historic Abbeville, SC, at the Civic Center on Friday and Saturday, 29-30 July A.D. 2011.

Details here and here.

Downtown Greensboro "Flash Mob" Beating Investigated By Police ...

... but they have to be "vewy, vewy, quiet" about it. Guess why:

It's happening all over the nation in places like Chicago, Milwaukee and Philadelphia. Now, it's happening right here in the Triad.

Greensboro police say mobs of violent teens are meeting up on the weekends and wreaking havoc downtown. Police say it's getting worse each weekend.

This past weekend, a former mayor had his business vandalized and another community leader got beat up in Center City Park.

"One of the teenagers came up from behind and just punched me in the back and kicked me and knocked me to the floor. Then, he just continued to kick me, punch me, step on me. People were screaming," Mitchel Sommers, executive director of the Community Theatre of Greensboro said.

Oddly, there are no descriptions of the "violent teens." But with a little detective work, it's easy to figure out. At 2:00 into the video, the reporter notes that the teens use Facebook on their mobile phones to coordinate their actions. And at 2:20 in, this intrepid investigator detected a key piece of evidence the reporter failed to mention - white fingers tapping at Blackberries!

So it must be those out-of-control Amish again.

This story hits home. I used to live and work in Greensboro, and met my wife-to-be when I got a part in a play at the Greensboro Community Theatre, where the attack took place. She had female lead, and I had two bit parts. After rehersals, we'd wander around the quiet streets and talk. Back then, downtown Greensboro was charming and peaceful -- and safe.

But then something called "progress" elbowed its way in.

I suspect the powers that be want to keep this embarrassing and growing problem out of the limelight because it would clash with Greensboro's "progressive" image. Just down the street from the Theatre where this attack occurred is the famous Woolworth's, one of the most sacred shrines of the Civil Rights Revolution. That building was just a decaying hulk in the days when my future wife and I strolled Greensboro's leafy streets on warm September evenings. Today, it houses The International Civil Rights Center & Museum. Without the overthrow of traditional society the Civil Rights Revolution accomplished, we wouldn't have seen the changes it forced through, from the federal takeover of private property, to the 1965 Immigration Reform Act, to the outpouring of welfare entitlements that's undermined the traditional family to the point where the black illegitimacy rate is now 71%.

Pardon me while I remember this old town the way it was.

All empires fail ...

... and the DC empire is slipping fast. Consider these headlines:

GOP in chaos

Support for Obama waning, even among liberal backers

Americans' debt rage boils over

Are you ready?

Police: No link between English Defense League and Breivik

Yes, Norway's domestic intelligence chief says there's no connection, but Charles Johnson just KNOWS there IS such a connection. There has to be.

Obama urged to invoke 14th Amendment as debt ceiling deadline nears

It's the Empire's favorite amendment -- and for good reason. So it's no surprise it's being invoked yet again to justify another power grab by the central government:

Rep. James Clyburn and a group of House Democrats are urging President Barack Obama to invoke the 14th Amendment to raise the debt ceiling if Congress can’t come up with a satisfactory plan before the Tuesday deadline.

Clyburn, the third-ranking House Democrat, said Wednesday that if the president is delivered a bill to raise the debt ceiling for only a short period of time, he should instead it and turn to the phrase in the Constitution that says the validity of the U.S. government’s debt “shall not be questioned.”

I hope the domesticated "conservatives" remember how W claimed imperial powers to bypass the Bill of Rights in the name of the "Unitary Executive." Obama is only expanding on W's legacy.

Your’re Playing, Whether You Want to or Not

Check out this graphic of the updated "Monopoly" board, re-christened, "Obamopoly."

It's a devilishly accurate jibe at how big business works today. Notice how Bank of America is placed directly beside ACORN. That's fitting, because BoA, and its forebear, NationsBank, have long championed big-government, leftist causes. Former CEO Hugh McCall, the banty rooster who transformed (or is it mutated?) North Carolina National Bank into the banking behemoth it is today, marched with the NAACP to take down the Confederate Battleflag over the South Carolina capitol.

Recently, BoA has been a major donor to the Latino ethnic lobby La Raza (translation: Das Volk), as well as ACORN, as well as to leftist and big-business propaganda projects advancing one-world government.

Not THAT Norwegian Shooter!

One of our favorite gadflies wants to let the world know he has nothing in common with Anders Behring Breivik.

The time has come for Asheville, WNC to secede

I've been wondering how long until this idea took root:

Here's what I'm thinking: Let's just redistrict ourselves right out of North Carolina.

Yep, I'm talking secession!

Seriously, it's time, wouldn't you agree? Let's face it, shortly after North Carolina joined the union by ratifying the U.S. Constitution in 1789, Raleigh starting dumping on us — when they remembered we were out here at all. Basically, they forgot about the mountains, other than to tell us when we could start school.

OK, they did get our hopes up back in colonial times by funding the Interstate 26 Connector project, but it was just a 200-year tease.

The bottom line is this: Life is different here in the mountains, and so are our people. That independent streak, which manifests itself in all manner of oddities, ranging from cross-dressing graffiti masters in downtown Asheville to cove-dwelling ammunition stockpilers in the hinterlands, runs deep.

Someone once told me he'd seen billboards in San Francisco advertising what a great place Asheville is -- for homosexuals. And it's running neck-and-neck with Chapel Hill to be the most liberal municipality in an otherwise conservative State.

So here's to WNC secession!

U.S. wastes $34 billion in Afghan and Iraq contracting

Why does the League of the South denounce DC as wasteful and useless? It's because of scandals such as this:

The source, who declined to be named, said more than 200,000 contractors have been on the U.S. payroll at times in Iraq and Afghanistan -- outstripping the number of U.S. troops currently on the ground in those countries.

The United States has fewer than 100,000 troops in Afghanistan and some 46,000 forces in Iraq.

The tally of private sector contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan can be surprisingly difficult to obtain since many U.S. contractors are outsourced to subcontractors who depend on temporary labor, the source said.

The report blames a lack of oversight by federal agencies for misuse of funds and warns of further waste when the programs are transferred to Iraqi or Afghan control as the United States withdraws its troops.

DC has its own bizarre agenda that relies on the submission of its subjects and their hard-earned billions, despite their own needs and wishes. The sooner we start handing out pink slips to the pretenders in the District of Corruption, the sooner we can begin restoring sanity and reclaiming what is rightfully ours.

On the Norwegian terror attack

This comment from the oh-so-politically correct Charlotte Observer is typical:

The deadly twin attacks in Norway were greeted with an outpouring Saturday of sympathy and disgust across Europe and beyond, and generated calls to counter the far-right intolerance that may have motivated the assailant.

What's repulsive is the corporate media's barely contained glee that the mass murderer wasn't Muslim, but a native Norwegian. Now the ruling elite's scribes and talking heads can utilize this tragedy as an excuse to call for silencing any individual or group to the right of Hillary Clinton.

I just have one question: The alleged terrorist was supposed to harbor "nationalistic" views, but is killing one's own countrymen an act of patriotism, or insanity?

Bring the troops home…from Europe

I call that a good start.

The next step is to retire the rest of DC's garrisons, which are nothing but a drain on us. I can think of quite a few better uses for those billions.

"A personal vendetta" thwarted

Mel Watt is the proud owner of an "affirmative action" congressional district, the 12th, which was racially gerrymandered to give Watt a majority-black district in central North Carolina. How has he used his power? Here's one example:

The U.S. House on Friday roundly rejected a move by U.S. Rep. Mel Watt to slice the budget of an independent ethics office, a move several watchdog groups denounced and one called "a personal vendetta."

By a vote of 302-102, the House defeated Watt's amendment that would have cut the budget of the independent Office of Congressional Ethics by 40 percent. Last year Watt was the subject of an OCE investigation, though ultimately cleared.

Those in the know saw what Rep. Mel was up to:

"It seems unlikely to me Mr. Watt would have been engaged in this had he not been investigated by the OCE," said Melanie Sloan, executive director of the Washington-based Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics. "The public believes the ethics of Congress are terrible, and amendments like this only play into that."

I'm waiting for some ultra-sensitive soul to denounce ethics standards as "racist."

Genome Maps May Spot Disease In African-Americans

This validation of the reality of race comes from that bastion of right-wing propaganda called NPR:

What makes these genetic maps particularly interesting is they were developed using DNA from African-Americans. Most maps created so far are based on DNA from people of European ancestry. Reich says using African-American DNA revealed something unexpected.

"There's a family of about 2,500 hot spots of recombination that are active in people of West African ancestry, like African-Americans, which are almost completely inactive in people of non-African ancestry," Reich says.

Finding these 2,500 hot spots could be particularly helpful for finding genes for diseases that are more common in African-Americans.

Well, diseases are inherently racist anyway.

States defy Federal education law

How long can we tolerate DC's unrealistic and wasteful dictates? Looks like the rebellion has finally begun:

At least three states are vowing to ignore the latest requirements under the No Child Left Behind law in an act of defiance against the federal government that demonstrates their growing frustration over an education program they say sets unrealistic benchmarks for schools.

The law sets a goal of 100 percent of students proficient in math and reading by 2014, but states were allowed to establish how much schools must improve each year. Many states saved the biggest leaps for the final years, anticipating that the law would be changed.

But it hasn't, and states like Idaho, Montana and South Dakota are fed up. They are preparing to reject the latest requirements for determining school progress under the 9-year-old law - even if the move toward noncompliance may put them at risk of losing some federal funding.

The carrot and stick approach will only work as long as there's a carrot. DC is so hopelessly broke, it can't afford carrots anymore.

2011 will go down in history as the beginning of the end of the DC Empire.

Like Obama, Emanuel rejects public schools for his children

No public schools for liberals! Those are for ... common people, not the champions of the people.

Remember the over-the-top, pricey, yet tawdry display at Morris Dees's mansion? Yeah, there's money in working for the ruling elite. Big money.

Slavery Today – For All Those Who Believe

From Confederate Colonel:

For all those who believe that slavery=The South.
For all those who believe that slavery is Whites owning Blacks.
For all those who believe that slavery ended with the conquest of the Southern states by the North.
For all those who believe that Islam is the “religion of peace”.
For all those who believe those lies, the truth can be painful – but it is still the truth.

We're constantly bombarded with the propaganda that multiculturalism is a boundless good, yet slavery was an African institution adapted by British colonists in America in both the North AND South. Despite that fact, slavery is supposed to be the unforgivable sin of the White race, especially Southerners.

This CNN report will rip away the myths and leave quite a few in a state of bewilderment. But that's what reality does to ideology.

DHS Video Characterizes White Americans as Most Likely Terrorists

Did the Southern Poverty Law Center produce this? They may as well have -- if it wasn't so sinister in its implications, it would be comical. From InfoWars:

Despite encouraging viewers not to pay attention to a person’s race in determining whether or not they may be a terrorist, almost all of the scenarios in the clip proceed to portray white people as the most likely terrorists. Bizarrely, nearly every single one of the “patriotic” Americans who reports on their fellow citizen is either black, Asian or Arab. Imagine if the video had portrayed every terrorist as an Arab and every patriotic snoop as white, there’d be an outcry and rightly so, but this strange reversal must have been deliberate on the part of the DHS, but why? Is this merely political correctness taken to the extreme or is something deeper at work?

Bottom Line: The ruling elite held an election, and they elected themselves a new people. Traditional America is out, and the "Proposition Nation" is in. These "new and improved" models are more agreeable to socialism, and much more tolerant of the kleptocracy DC is becoming.

And folks wonder why we denounce the central government as illegitimate.

Obama's support plummets in North Carolina

Obama squeaked by in North Carolina in 2008, and knows he faces a tough time in 2012 -- which has a lot to do with why he chose Charlotte, NC, as the site for the Democratic National Convention.

But these poll results, indicating a 14-point drop in support, should trouble the sleep of all presently employed Democratic campaign managers.

However, this is troublesome for us, too. Obama's slumping popularity could boost the chances of Israel-Firsters, such as Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin, or of war-crazed lunatic John Bolton. Perpetual war means further erosion of our rapidly vanishing civil liberties. While Obama has clearly served his masters in the armaments industry well (as all presidents must), if conservatives are fooled into backing yet another militaristic Republican, the Cause will be set back decades.

I want Obama to win in 2012. His misrule will continue to galvanize conservative opposition. Here's to the hope that Obama will be the last president of the evil DC Empire.

More legal trouble for Edwards

Oh, dear.

It seems John "I'm So Pretty!" Edwards owes $2.3 million to the US Treasury. This little snafu is in addition to the eight felony charges he faces for alleged campaign violations.

U.S. Aid Money in Afganistan May Be Fueling Insurgency

Well, isn't this kind of story what you'd expect from the last days of an overgrown empire that's so clueless and intrusive that it created its own worst enemy?

People ask me how we can survive without DC's control. I ask them, "How can we expect to survive WITH it?"

Everything you need to know about Texas Governor Perry ...

... is in these three paragraphs:

Perry reportedly met former Bush aides Doug Feith and William Luti, both strong internal backers of the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, Daniel Fata, whose article today is headed, "Why Iraq Still Matters."

The names of invitees to the Wednesday briefing — and impressions from attendees at the meeting —suggested to GOP foreign policy hands that Perry will likely stand on the hawkish side of a foreign policy divide inside the Republican Party.

"These are staunch internationalists, conservatives — very much guys who are committed to victory in the conflicts we are engaged in," said a leader of that wing of the party, which is sometimes called, or calls itself, neoconservative. "These are not the sort of pople Huntsman or Mitch Daniels or even Bachmann would reach out to."

Actually, Rick Perry isn't worth the time it takes to read three paragraphs. Let's condense everything you need to know about Rick Perry into three words:

He's a sell-out.

Jeff writes,

Saw your post on Rick Perry. Having lived in Texas for 16 years now I can tell you that basically, Perry is George W. Bush redux. Remember several things about Perry: He was state chairman for Al Gore's first run for president in '88 (yes, Perry switched from Democrat to Republican); he's for the Trans-Texas corridor (that monster freeway cutting through the heart of Texas from Mexico and dumping into the rest of the US) which is still around just under another name after he said he was cancelling it; He plays 'conservative' cards when they suit him, but he at times acts like a tyrant (tried to order all females age 11 get the HPV vaccine, but that caused an uproar and he backed down).

While I've tended to vote Independent, and never voted for Perry, Perry makes an okay governor, but it will be more of the same old games if he was to win the Republican nomination and eventually the presidency.

Public support waning for defense spending

Here's an anti-imperial trend we need to jump on and spur:

Defense officials have been warning for months that they expect military spending to be reduced significantly in coming years as lawmakers struggle with the ballooning federal budget. Now, a new poll shows the American public might back even steeper cuts in the defense budget.

According to a Rasmussen survey conducted last week, nearly half of Americans polled believe that leaders can make major cuts in defense spending without putting the country in danger. Seventy-nine percent say the United States spends too much on defending other countries. And nearly half of those polled want to withdraw all U.S. troops from Europe and Japan.

Every assault on our liberty and way of life arises from the unholy alliance between the military-industrial complex and its leftist enablers. At this moment, the iron is hot. It's time for us to strike.

Multicultural Madness

This moving video and gorgeous, seductive song prove there's still some good music coming out these days. The video uses footage from NBC's report on the 1978 Jonestown Massacre, a horrific event that carries a powerful message for our time.

A lot of folks don't realize that the "Reverend" Jim Jones was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party, as well as an anti-White, multicult radical. Before Jonestown, many prominent people defended Jones because of the "inclusive, anti-racist" organization he'd built, including Willie Brown, the mayor of San Francisco, and homosexual advocate Harvey Milk. But in fact, Jones's "anti-racism" was nothing more than doctrinaire communism. In previous posts, we've discussed how leftists conceal their poisonous agenda behind the holy mantra of "anti-racism."

As you can see from the video, Jones was clearly unbalanced. At the same time, unfortunately, he was also charismatic. (He reminds me of abolitionist fanatic John Brown.) You can see both rapturous delight and militant self-righteousness in the faces of Jones's followers. His "church" did not preach the Gospel, but a form of Black Liberation theology, which claims to "affirm the humanity of white people" by their willingness to sacrifice themselves in the name of black liberation.

Please watch the entire video. I've never seen anything that better illustrates the pathology and allure of the cult of anti-racism, which its own record shows to be a self-destructive and anti-human ideology. And by contrast, this video also serves as a powerful reminder of the natural vitality of an historical, organic culture.

Southern Nationalists March with Flags in Augusta, GA

Old Rebel,

Today (7-16-2-011), 2 friends and I marched through Augusta/Martinez, Georgia with our flags. It was a beautiful day and plenty of people were out driving around. We parked in a grocery store parking lot, loaded up some bottled water in our backpack, unfurled our flags and set out down the long stretch of sidewalk. Once the sidewalk ran out we turned around and marched down the other side of road. We got nearly unanimous positive responses from the hundreds of people who passed us. One woman did scream “No!” as she passed but nearly everyone who did respond waved, gave us a thumbs up or shouted praise to us. It was a very encouraging day!

Glad to post it! Good job. And I really love the background music!

Many states celebrate surpluses as Congress struggles with debt

How is it that many States are managing their budgets much better than DC, which is supposedly the fount of all wisdom?

Here's a clue, from a man who lived and observed men and governments a long, long time ago:

To the size of states there is a limit as there is to other things, plants, animals, implements; for none of these retain their natural power when they are too large or too small, but they either wholly lose their nature or are spoilt. Aristotle

DC's span of control is outrageously overgrown. Its own system works against it: For a politician to establish a power base and win re-election, he has to deliver the goodies to his constituents, meaning that he must secure spending projects that win favor with the folks back home. Therefore, the costs of these projects don't concern those who authorize them -- heck, the rest of the country is paying for them!

Multiply that by 435 and you'll see why the debt crisis is so enormous and unfixable.

Where all children are above average

The Atlanta cheating scandal has exposed the lie the government schools have been peddling for decades: If you just give us enough money, we can eliminate the Black-White performance gap. But this Procrustean goal can only be accomplished by massive fraud -- and sooner or later, reality will come bursting through the facade. Even the New York Times sees the problem:

It is now clear that for years Dr. Hall headed a school system rife with cheating and either didn’t notice, as she maintains, or covered it up, as investigators suspect. During that time, she was named superintendent of the year by two national organizations, and praised by the secretary of education himself — for her rigorous use of test data as an evaluation tool.

Apparently Dr. Hall applied that same rigor to fabricated test data, enabling her to collect $600,000 in performance bonuses over 10 years to supplement her $400,000 annual salary.

How much longer will Americans accept and support socialized education and its impossible agenda, equality of results?

Quote of the day

“Nearly all our professional historians are poor men holding college posts, and they are cruelly beset by the ruling politico-plutocratic-social-oligarchy than ever the Prussian professors were by the Hohenzollerns. Let them diverge in the slightest from what is the current official doctrine, and they are turned out of their chairs with a ceremony suitable for the expulsion of a drunken valet.” H.L. Mencken, commenting on court historians mobilized to revise history at federal direction during the First World War.

And if Mencken were still alive, he'd say historians are even more slavishly orthodox today.

Thanks to Bernie for the quote!

If multiculturalism is so great, why don't people like it?

A new poll of English voters reveals that 60% believe immigration has been “a bad thing” for England.

This is shocking news for England's anti-White, pro-immigration zealots. Nick Lowles, a spokesman for Searchlight Together, a group organized "to counter racism and fascism," reacted with this priceless observation: “The harsh truth is we are in danger of losing touch with the public on race, immigration and multi-culturalism.”

Wow. "Losing touch"? He can't grasp that most people don't suffer from the pathology of wanting to commit national suicide. Amazing.

Pentagon threatens Americans: Give us more money, or we'll take your kids

The military-industrial complex has morphed into a bloated, self-serving bureaucracy. Gone is the pretense that it exists to protect us; now, it's the greatest threat to our security:

The Pentagon is considering massive changes to the force — including a draft — amid fears that new and far deeper budget cuts are looming just over the horizon, a top military official said Thursday.

James Madison tried to warn Americans about the threat of standing armies:

A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence agst. foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people.

What would the Founding Fathers say about the supremacy of the military today?

A Race to Create the 51st State

From The American Conservative:

With all the recent media attention over efforts by some southern Californians to break off from their northern neighbors and create the 51st state, one might think that the idea of states splitting up—or actually seceding from the union outright—is something that hasn’t been discussed since the Civil War.

But that’s not the case at all. As TAC contributor Bill Kauffman pointed out in this piece from 2005, there are “at least 28 U.S. secessionist movements active everywhere from those dubious Cold War states of Alaska and Hawaii to New York City—site of Norman Mailer’s prophetically pro-secession 1969 mayoralty campaign—to the states of the Confederacy, with their League of the South, and up to the felicitously named State of Jefferson in northern California and southern Oregon. America has gone fission.”

Make that 29, now that the Riverside County Board has approved a proposal that would look into the idea of splitting off from California.

Meanwhile, a secessionist group in Texas has begun printing its own currency. And let’s not forget Texas Governor Rick Perry’s comments in 2009 about how Texas had the right to secede from the union.

Talk of secession—whether it’s from other states or the nation as a whole—might not be very popular, but it’s certainly not uncommon.

To quote Ed Sebesta, "Secession is back as an issue in politics."

Question of the day

"In the minority community that is the question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully? ... What is different about this president that should put him in a position that he should not receive the same kind of respectful treatment of when it is necessary to raise the debt limit in order to pay our bills, something required by both statute and the 14th amendment?" Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of the Congressional Black Caucus

Oh, I know what's different about President Obama. He's the first Hawaiian to occupy the Awful Office.

Obama says 80 percent of Americans support tax increases

Funny -- I don't remember saying that.

Don't like DC's policies? Then you're anti-Semitic!

If you use the term "bankster" to refer to politically connected investors who grab your tax dollars to salvage their bad investments, then you must hate Jews.

That is a fact, because Heidi Beirich of the Southern Poverty Law Center says so. She has issued this fatwa against the term. That word, says the SPLC's Empress of Political Correctness, is "a radical-right term meaning Jews."

That's something I didn't know! So I googled "bankster" and found this entry in that infamous online resource for anti-Semites that calls itself urban dictionary:

A portmanteau of "banker" and "gangster", popularized by (among others) the economist Murray N. Rothbard, used by him to attack what he held to be the inherently fraudulent nature of Fractional-Reserve banking (as opposed to 100% gold reserve banking, which he defended as the only honest form of banking). Frequently used in reference to The Fed.

In more recent popular usage, often refers in a vague way to the forces of "Wall Street", or to those persons in the financial services industry who grow rich despite the continued impoverishment of those who depend on their services, and despite their apparent inability to succeed in business without constant government assistance.

Odd, don't you think, that a term that's condemned as anti-Semitic was popularized by a libertarian, Jewish economist? (Who was also a League of the South charter member, by the way.) And if it's a term embraced by the radical right, why did the liberal Huffington Post publish an article entitled "Is your Senator a Bankster?"

This isn't the first time Dr. Beirich has condemned dissenters as anti-Semitic. At 1:50 into this video, Beirich declares:

"Neocons for the most part in white-supremacist circles are identified as Jews. So it's actually an expression of anti-Semitism when he has material like that about Neocons. It comes from his right-wing, crazy, anti-Semitic views."

Never mind that many non-Jews identify themselves as Neocons -- no, if you object to the Neocon agenda of "global hegemony" and big government, then you must hate Jews, and have identified yourself as a pariah who cannot engage in political dialogue. There is no appeal.

And folks wonder why we refer to the Southern Poverty Law Center as the regime's outsourced Inquisition.

Southern Music break

The District of Corruption is busily plotting its latest taxpayer rip-off while it continues to stoke the wars it's launched against its enemies, both alien and domestic.

So let's just take a deep breath and soak up this rousing version of "Dixie." As you listen to it, remember: There's another way. There is an alternative path.

Failing Liberty 101

Walter Williams sees a growing and deeply disturbing trend:

A law professor, whom Damon leaves unnamed, shares this vision in a recent book: "Longstanding notions of democratic citizenship are becoming obsolete. ... American identity is unsustainable in the face of globalization." Instead of commitment to a nation-state, "loyalties ... are moving to transnational communities defined by many different ways: by race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, and sexual orientation."

He's right, of course. What attraction is there in professing you're an American, which conveys all the distinctiveness and attendant pride of being a carbon-based life form? Multiculturalism claims we've outgrown patriotism, nationalism, and all fellow-feeling for members of our own ethnic and racial groups. But what's actually happening is that as pride in the abstraction "America" fades into oblivion, something has to take its place.

And that's a good thing.

Pentagon: Internet an ‘Operational Domain’ for Wars

Here's some unsettling news:

Finally releasing their long-promised “cybersecurity plan,” the Pentagon today declared that the Internet is now being considered an “operational domain” for all wars, and proposed a dramatic increase in the number of employees fighting wars on the Internet.

Translation: Everything is under the control of the military-industrial complex, including the Internet and anyone who uses it.

Or in brief: All your computer are belong to us.

Col Gaddafi has 'suicide plan' to blow up Tripoli

From The Telegraph:

In an unusually frank interview with Russian daily newspaper Izvestia, Mikhail Margelov, the Kremlin’s special representative for Africa, said Libya’s prime minister Baghdadi al-Mahmudi had personally told him of the plan on a recent visit.

“The Libyan premier told me: if the rebels seize the city, we will cover it with missiles and blow it up,” said Mr Margelov who was in Libya last month for talks with both the government and the rebels.

“I imagine that the Gaddafi regime does have such a suicidal plan,” he added, saying that Col. Gaddafi still had plentiful supplies of missiles and ammunition.

How could a ruler wanting to hold on to power do such a thing to his own people? Good thing nothing like that could happen here. Well, except this:

On November 15, 1864, General Sherman gave orders to burn all public buildings, machine shops, depots, and arsenals in Atlanta during the Civil War. While setting out for Savannah that same day Sherman stated, "Behind us lay Atlanta smoldering and in ruins, the black smoke rising high in the air and hanging like a ball over the ruined city."

Oh, and this:

Operation Northwoods was a series of false-flag proposals that originated within the United States government in 1962. The proposals called for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), or other operatives, to commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities and elsewhere. These acts of terrorism were to be blamed on Cuba in order to create public support for a war against that nation, which had recently become communist under Fidel Castro.[2] One part of Operation Northwoods was to "develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington."

Otherwise, DC is much more benevolent than Gaddafi.

Why the Court should uphold S.B.1070

Dr. Carol Swain, whose work we've favorably discussed in the past, was one of a small number of scholars asked to contribute to the Supreme Court blog on Arizona's S.B. 1070 law. Here's her contribution:

The Supreme Court should uphold the constitutionality of Arizona’s S.B.1070 and recognize the legislation as a good faith effort by a state seeking to impose law and order in a crisis situation. Arizona officials see S.B.1070 as necessary legislation to protect its inhabitants from the harm associated with excessive crime, homelessness, and high unemployment made worse by the uncontrolled influx of illegal aliens across the Southwestern border. Unlike other U.S. states, Arizona has the distinction of having had its capital city of Phoenix dubbed as the “kidnapping capital of America.” Parts of the state have become safe havens for drug cartels who have established strongholds where law enforcement officials and residents fear to tread. Given this dire situation, the state of Arizona would have been irresponsible if it had not taken concrete actions to help ensure the health and well-being of its legal residents.

You'll want to read the whole thing!

Quote of the day

"We hold that the local autonomy of the States, far from being a mere matter of expediency, is at the very foundation of American freedom." J. Gresham Machen, Theologian, Preacher and Defender of the Reformed Faith amidst the modernist apostasy of the Presbyterian Church USA in the 1920's and 1930's

Thanks to Thomas for the quote!

Just spell the name right ...

The liberal Salon webzine is slamming Texas Governor Rick Perry for his alleged "neo-Confederate" ties, and boy, have they got the goods on him! The most damning piece of evidence is a Photoshoped picture of Rick Perry with a red-white-and-blue Confederate Battleflag in the background. That's pretty hard to argue with.

But there's more! The alleged reporter, Justin Elliott, did a fine job of transcribing the news release from anti-Southern crank Ed Sebesta. (Who says the Golden Age of Journalism is dead?) So naturally, the article breathlessly reveals that Perry actually opposed the removal of Confederate monuments in Texas! Clearly, anyone who wants to preserve historical and cultural markers is a bad, bad person.

And there's even more! The article reveals that the League of the South (thanks for the link, Justin!) once recommended its members support Perry for lieutenant governor. Now, the Socialist Workers Party can endorse Barack Hussein Obama, and that's okey-dokey -- after all, they're just a bunch of starry-eyed idealists who want to resurrect the agenda of mass-murderer Leon Trotsky. The League of the South, on the other hand, opposes DC's unlawful suspension of the Bill of Rights, as well as its illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Wouldn't the mass-murder of brown people make real racists giddy?) And everyone knows that those who want to limit DC's power to do good in the world, no matter the actual results, are motivated by eeeevil motives.

And heck, in the last gubernatorial race here in North Carolina, I prefered native-born Bev Perdue to the Yankee Pat McCrory. Does my endorsement make our beloved Governor Dumpling a supporter of the League?

Elliott also dropped this bombshell:

After Bush was elected president and Perry became governor, he maintained his warm relations with Confederate-affiliated groups. Perry was featured in the United Daughters of the Confederacy magazine for a July 2001 visit to the 25th anniversary celebration of a library that had been given an archival collection of Confederate materials.

Okay, look, folks. If you're a Southern governor, you're going to rub elbows with members of Southern heritage groups. Even liberals, including the late Ann Richards, have to work with Southern heritage groups. In 1991, for example, Governor Richards presented the "Yellow Rose of Texas" award to Dixie Foster, a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. Where's the outrage?

Bill Clinton, as governor of Arkansas, honored Confederate leaders Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee. And in 1987, he signed a statute that reconfirmed that the star directly above the word "Arkansas" in the state flag "is to commemorate the Confederate States of America."

If Mr. Elliott knew the difference between the Confederate Battleflag and the Stars and Bars, he'd also know about Ed Sebesta's blinding obsession with all things Southern. As a matter of fact, Ed Sebesta once accused President Bill Clinton of "legitimizing Neo-Confederate organizations."

Again, I ask: Where's the outrage?

Bernanke to Congress: ‘Gold Isn’t Money’

Bernanke is right. Gold is worth something.

Quote of the day

“It has become fashionable in recent times to talk of the leveling of nations, and of various peoples disappearing into the melting pot of contemporary civilization. I disagree with this, but that is another matter; all that should be said here is that the disappearance of whole nations would impoverish us no less than if all people were to become identical, with the same character and the same face. Nations are the wealth of humanity, its generalized personalities. The least among them has its own special colors, and harbors within itself a special aspect of God's design.” Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Time to Ax Public Programs That Don't Yield Results

Guess what reactionary, white supremacist, hate-filled writer wrote this essay exposing government attempts to make all children "above average" as colossal wastes of time and money:

You take the million or so poorest 3- and 4-year-old children and give them a leg up on socialization and education by providing preschool for them; if it works, it saves money in the long run by producing fewer criminals and welfare recipients — and more productive citizens. Indeed, Head Start did work well in several pilot programs carefully run by professionals in the 1960s. And so it was "taken to scale," as the wonks say, as part of Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty.

It is now 45 years later. We spend more than $7 billion providing Head Start to nearly 1 million children each year. And finally there is indisputable evidence about the program's effectiveness, provided by the Department of Health and Human Services: Head Start simply does not work.

Wait! That's liberal Joe Klein of Time Magazine who wrote that. My mistake.

The failures of the multicult Empire's domestic and foreign policy projects have become so obvious that even lovers of big government are forced to acknowledge them. Once again, "reality" finally trumps "ideology." Problem is, the Empire has dumped trillions into these projects, so there are a lot of people with a stake in maintaining the illusion these projects work. But as DC's economy tanks, there's less money left to prop up egalitarian fantasies.

"It's Going to Feel Very Hard, Harder than Anything They've Experienced"

To appreciate how wobbly the Empire has become, check out these headlines:

Debt-ceiling talks hit brick wall

Senator McConnell: "Real solution" not possible as long as Obama is president

Obama says he cannot guarantee Social Security checks will go out on August 3

Talk radio, both local and syndicated, is in a near panic over DC's inability to take action on the budget crisis. But this blog, and the League of the South, have been sounding the alarm for years over warning signs that "respectable" mainstream commentators wouldn't acknowledge. Now it's so bad, not even the regime's biggest cheerleaders can ignore how desperate things are.

And if you think we're exaggerating, check out what the Secretary of the Treasury recently admitted:

Geithner tells NBC's "Meet the Press" that it's a very tough economy. He says that for a lot of people "it's going to feel very hard, harder than anything they've experienced in their lifetime now, for a long time to come."

Geithner should know how badly the federal government screwed up everything -- he's up to his pointy little ears in the Wall Street bailout, which was a body blow to an already reeling economy.

Polygamist Plans Suit to Challenge Law

Utah's laws against polygamy, says this man who's married to four women, violates the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.

So now that same-sex "marriage" is considered respectable, people are trying to push the envelope even further. Who could've possibly seen that coming? I'm as surprised as a government economist stumped by the latest unemployment numbers!

For a short introduction to the mischief based on the 14th Amendment, check out this post.

Young Southern patriots demonstrate proper care of UN and NATO flags

Old Rebel,

I thought you might enjoy this. A few of us got together yesterday to torch the flags of two awful internationalist organisations which oppose Southern interests and values. The Empire has forced Southerners to fund these organisations even though they do not benefit our people. No more Southern blood and treasure for the UN and NATO!

Attached are two pictures and below is a link for the video we put together.

Looking forward to seeing you at the LS conference in Abbeville.

Take it easy,

See you there!

With secession back in the news, we need to better understand what it's about, including its history. Here's a great introduction from Connie Chastain:

This day in history

In 1864, Confederate general Jubal A. Early and his troops attacked Washington, DC.

Obama's role in history

The blog naked capitalism argues that Obama is Herbert Hoover.

I disagree. I see him as Romulus Augustulus.

Secession from Mexifornia?

From the Los Angeles Times:

Accusing Sacramento of pillaging local governments to feed its runaway spending and left-wing policies, a Riverside County politician is proposing a solution: He wants 13 mostly inland, conservative counties to break away to form a separate state of "South California.''

Supervisor Jeff Stone, a Republican pharmacist from Temecula, called California an "ungovernable" financial catastrophe from which businesses are fleeing and where taxpayers are being crushed by the burden of caring for welfare recipients and illegal immigrants.

Hmmm... an "ungovernable financial catastrophe," huh? What do you call this?

Noted commodities fund manager Jim Rogers says that the United States will “default one way or the other” and that ongoing deficit reduction talks are “a sham” that can’t cover the fact that the U.S. dollar is a “terribly flawed currency.”

Over $14 trillion in debt to its greatest rival -- can't or won't control its own borders -- and hopelessly mired in overseas occupations.

Gee, the crumbling DC empire makes Mexifornia look pretty good.

The betrayed Black middle class

One of the most frequent comments from readers goes like this: "If Hispanics and Blacks get to have their ethnic lobbies, why can't Whites do the same?"

That's a fair question, but it assumes American Blacks have powerful lobbies looking out for their interests and values. However, that's not the case. In fact, the NAACP and Congressional Black Caucus sell out their own people to serve the liberal establishment. For example, while prominent Black politicians toe the party line on same-sex "marriage," some of the most vocal opponents of the radical homosexual agenda are Black, and Black churches have taken prominent stands supporting traditional marriage -- to the dismay of the Black Quislings.

Worse, the BQs consistently stab their own people in the back to serve the establishment's insatiable appetite for cheap, exploitable labor. We've pointed out for years how the Congressional Black Caucus continues to support the importation of illegal immigrants despite deteriorating employment numbers among Blacks. Employment levels for illegal aliens, meanwhile, continue to out-perform both Blacks and Whites.

Little wonder that this is the inevitable result:

Millions of Americans endured financial calamities in the recession. But for many in the black community, job loss has knocked them out of the middle class and back into poverty. And some experts warn of a historic reversal of hard-won economic gains that took black people decades to achieve.

“History is going to say the black middle class was decimated” over the past few years, said Maya Wiley, director of the Center for Social Inclusion.

Both Blacks and Whites need to wake up to see who their REAL enemy is -- the self-serving, voracious central government in DC.

Obama tells GOP leaders America not a 'banana republic'

From the Classic Liberal:

The United States federal government is no different than any other state found throughout history. It feeds off theft and rules by violence. It's a corrupt system run by corrupt people, and the 2-party dialectic is a con game designed to perpetuate conformity. The path to liberty doesn't reside in the political process ... it can't. But the path to liberty does reside in you and me.

Think outside the box, don't be a pansy, and never take anything for granted. Educate yourself, ignore Establishment labels, and quit searching for "leaders," and following the crowd, and waiting for others to approve what you do. Be a freeman.

South Sudan becomes an independent nation

The South won its bid for independence! From the BBC:

South Sudan has become the world's newest nation, the climax of a process made possible by the 2005 peace deal that ended a long and bloody civil war. ...

Celebrations in Juba began at midnight (2100 GMT). A countdown clock in the city centre reached zero and the new national anthem was played on television.

People were in the streets, cheering, waving South Sudan flags, banging drums and chanting the name of President Salva Kiir Mayardit, he adds.

So when do we get OUR referendum?

Congress Wants Automatic Wage Deductions To Pay Down The Debt

The news is getting too weird for me. And the economic news is just one fever dream after another. For instance, take a gander at this proposed legislation:

HR 2411 states that every worker in America should be able to voluntarily have a portion of his/her wages automatically withheld and sent directly to the Treasury Department for the purposes of paying down the federal debt.

“Every employer making payment of wages shall deduct and withhold upon such wages any amounts so elected, and shall pay such amounts over to the Secretary of the Treasury…”

That’s right. Uncle Sam is so broke that he wants to give all the good little Americans out there the opportunity to contribute an even greater portion of their paychecks to finance government largess.

Desperate? Hmmm…. Don’t worry, it gets better.

Yes, I want to earmark a chunk of my pitiable paycheck to pay for more Wall Street bailouts, useless wars, and welfare. Where do I go to NOT sign up?

Secession returns to America

It's baaaack! Counties in conservative southern California want to break from the loony policies of the liberal north. (Sound familiar?) And now that the call for secession is once again in the air, it can only re-ignite forgotten passions and causes. As this article concludes:

In 1846, just four years before California become an official U.S. state, Californians rebelled against Mexican rule to become their own independent Republic in what became the "Bear Flag Revolt." The first leader of the new California Republic, William Ide, said the following about their new-found independence from Mexico:

"[We] overthrow a Government which has seized upon the property of the Missions for its individual aggrandizement; which has ruined and shamefully oppressed the laboring people of California."

One must wonder if now, in 2011, similar calls will rise from Southern California's for their official removal from a government that has, in their view, "shamefully oppressed the laboring people." Time will tell.

Indeed it will.

Pointless Pork for Pentagon Parasites

While the subjects citizens of the DC Empire struggle with a double-dip recession, the Pentagram gets a double-digit increase in appropriations.

The Empire just can't let go of its dreams of power. It's going to drain what's left of our wealth in its desperate attempts to prop up its morbidly obese military.

And people argue we'd be lost without DC's guidance? I'd rather have the drunken frat boys of Delta House in charge instead of the crooks in DC.

Mexican National Shouts 'Viva Mexico!' as He's Executed in Texas

Someone wants to be a martyr:

As the lethal injection began taking effect, the Mexican National convicted of the brutal rape and killing of a teenage girl in 1995 shouted, "Viva Mexico!" just before he died at a Texas prison.

Efforts by Humberto Leal's attorneys to halt the execution fell short, with the U.S. Supreme Court turning back a stay request and Texas Gov. Rick Perry refusing to grant a pardon. He was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. local time.

Good for Governor Perry.

But what does this say about Mexican assimilation if Leal lived in the US since he was a toddler? Where did his loyalties lie? Certainly not to the dissolving United States, whose rulers are doing their best to erase any such thing as American identity in the name of "diversity" and "openness."

Muslim immigrant convicted of plotting terror attacks

I would put this in my "Blood is thicker than water" file, but there's no more room:

A Brooklyn high school dropout was convicted Thursday of conspiring to join a foreign terrorist group so he could kill U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Betim Kaziu faces life in prison for the jihadi adventure that took him to Saudi Arabia, Egypt and finally Kosovo - where he was arrested in 2009.

The jury deliberated less than four hours before reaching a verdict in the two-week trial in Brooklyn Federal Court.

Kaziu smiled and waved to his parents, who emigrated from Macedonia.

In case you're wondering, "Blood" refers to the appeal of ethnic and cultural loyalty, while "water" refers to the thin gruel of multiculturalism.

Suckers of the World

Have you heard the outrageous story about Henry Velandia? How about Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi? Or, if you're really in the mood for roiling your bile, the surreal tale of the world-class freeloader named Zeituni Onyango?

Go ahead. Read about them here. But take your blood pressure meds first.

BTW, the title doesn't refer to the individuals named above. See if you can figure out who the real suckers are.

How to Deal With Flash Mobs

Should you find yourself in the middle of a "flash mob" (or what I'd call a "mob n' rob"), keep it real simple: 1) Don’t get involved with them! 2) Get away from them as fast as possible.

Read the rest here.

For a comprehensive list of flash mobs, brace yourself first, then click here.

Here are twenty ways the USA is number one -- or should I say numero uno?

All of them disprove the myth that the US is a republic of free, secure citizens. Here are some of the most damning: facts:

#8 There are more reported murders in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world.

#10 The United States also has more police officers than anywhere else in the world.

#17 The United States spends 7 times more on the military than any other nation on the planet does. In fact, U.S. military spending is greater than the military spending of China, Russia, Japan, India, and the rest of NATO combined.

#20 The U.S. has accumulated the biggest national debt that the world has ever seen and it is rapidly getting worse. Right now, U.S. government debt is expanding at a rate of $40,000 per second.

White House staffers get raises more than double national average

To all those friends I never met

Dan sends this sad message about Elizabeth Wright:

Sad news -- she's in hospice care, apparently. Her final blog post is here.

For quite a while, she was a member of an extremely small club that consisted of her, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Anne Wortham, and very few others.

Elizabeth gave us some fine work. There will be a permanent link to her fine article on the REAL Southern Poverty Law Center, as opposed to the one fawningly portrayed in the corporate media.

The Fed As A Reverse Robin Hood

The Federal Reserve is only one tool in redistributing wealth -- or, as this article clarifies, focuses wealth from the middle class to the ruling elite. Open Border policies increasing the supply of exploitable labor also cuts income and benefits, and this maximizes corporate earnings.

One of the most serious accusations possible has become a gag line

"That's racist!" is now an all-purpose joke. For example, you could use it as a response to, "When doing laundry, separate the whites and the darks."

But what’s the joke? We don’t find out until a 14-year-old-boy says it plainly: “I think I or other people just sort of do it as a way of mocking people who are overly sensitive about race issues.”

That's what happens when you overdo an accusation.

This day in history

In 1998, Roy Rogers, the King of the Cowboys, died.

The Black-White Achievement Gap "closed" -- almost!

Now here's an inspiring story -- a Jamaican immigrant becomes a teacher, then rises over the years into the government educational system hierarchy, where she lowers the Black-White achievement gap. Educrats and politicians all over the nation swoon:

In addition to serving as Atlanta Public Schools superintendent, Dr. Beverly Hall is chair of the Advisory Board of the Harvard Urban Superintendents Program, where she serves as a mentor superintendent to participants in the doctoral program. She also is a member of the Teaching Commission, which develops specific policy recommendations to deal with the teaching crisis in America.

Dr. Hall is the recipient of many local and national honors, including the American Association of School Administrators’ 2006 Effie H. Jones Humanitarian Award, the Martin Luther King Jr. “Ground Crew” Award, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Legacy Award and the Atlanta Urban Debate League’s award named in her honor, the Beverly L. Hall Urban Debate Administrator of the Year Award.

Here's a video of Dr. Hall wowing Congress' Education and Labor committee. Could the position of Education Secretary be far behind, where, from such a lofty fulcrum, she could move the entire education system?

But rumors circulated that her miraculous results were phony. Dr. Hall ordered an internal investigation that concluded there were no problems [?!]. However, a state investigation has revealed a wide-spread, coordinated effort to pump up scores:

Georgia investigators have found evidence of cheating at close to 80 percent of the Atlanta schools where they examined the 2009 administration of state tests.

The 48,000-student Atlanta district has been under a cloud for the past two years, ever since an Atlanta Journal-Constitution analysis found improbably high results on the state's Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests, or CRCT.

So now we're looking at a criminal case against both Dr. Hall and her assistant Kathy Augustine. And check out the rogue's gallery of their accomplices.

Have we learned anything? When the next miracle worker proclaims he's found the secret to making all children above average, will we believe him?

Of course we will. There's something bigger at stake here than just a vast conspiracy to commit educational fraud. The real issue is the government's commitment to equality, to the notion that all good things come from government itself, and that its citizens, especially schoolchildren, are its passive raw materials.

The issue here is not whether Hall broke a few rules. She did. But if Dr. Hall is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? Isn't this an indictment of our entire American society, and its pursuit of diversity? Well, you can do whatever you want, but we're not going to sit here and listen to condemnations against the United States of America!

Take it away, Otter:

Obama tries to stop execution in Texas of Mexican killer

Obama is the best president Mexico ever had, as this story proves:

President Barack Obama is attempting to block the execution in Texas on Thursday of a Mexican man because it would breach an international convention and do "irreparable harm" to US interests. ...

Humberto Leal Garcia, 38, was convicted in 1994 of the rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in San Antonio. Few question that he was responsible for the killing but the Texas authorities failed to tell Leal, who was born in Mexico and has lived in the US since the age of two, that under the Vienna convention he was entitled to contact the Mexican consulate when he was arrested.

History as propaganda

This article on the Declaration by Gordon S. Wood poses as history but is in fact the government-approved ideology of the "proposition nation."

For us Americans, the words of the Declaration have become central to our sense of nationhood. Because the United States is composed of so many immigrants and so many different races and ethnicities, we can never assume our identity as a matter of course. The nation has had to be invented. At the end of the Declaration, the members of the Continental Congress could only “mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” There was nothing else but themselves that they could dedicate themselves to—no patria, no fatherland, no nation as yet. In comparison with the 235 year-old United States, many states in the world today are new, some of them created within fairly recent past. Yet many of these states, new as they may be, are under-girded by peoples who had a pre-existing sense of their ethnicity, their nationality. In the case of the United States, the process was reversed: We Americans were a state before we were a nation, and much of our history has been an effort to define that nationality.

That's not only nonsense, but easily disproved nonsense.

The Founders did not intend to create a multicultural proposition nation. Instead, they sought to protect their traditional English rights. In the Continental Congress’ Resolutions on the Stamp Act, our Revolutionary forefathers declared:

“That His Majesty’s liege subjects in these colonies, are entitled to all the inherent rights and liberties of his natural born subjects within the kingdom of Great-Britain.

That it is inseparably essential to the freedom of a people, and the undoubted right of Englishmen, that no taxes be imposed on them, but with their own consent, given personally, or by their representatives.”

Then there's this quote from John Jay:

Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people - a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs.

The text of the Declaration Dr. Wood wishes to enlighten us about includes this reason for rebelling against King George:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies.

Clearly, the British colonists viewed themselves as the inheritors of traditional British institutions, which they intended to preserve. That's why, rather than allowing any and all into their communities, the Founders restricted immigration. The Naturalization Act of 1790 limited naturalized citizenship to "free white persons" of "good moral character."

Wood's warped history reflects the current orthodoxy of radical egalitarianism which the ruling elite uses to justify its power.

Bush discusses border security

Yeah, it's an oldie, but still good for a laugh.

The American Nosedive

Jim Goad tells it like it is:

Reading the Declaration of Independence 235 years after it was written, it’s kidney-punchingly obvious that the United States government has become precisely the sort of bloodsucking tyrant against which the Founding Fathers revolted.

It's packed with great quotes, but this is my favorite:

The Declaration bemoans the fact that the King of England had blocked many of the colonies’ laws, whereas today the feds’ judicial henchmen routinely overrule the American electorate’s will in matters such as immigration, gay marriage, and anything else that obstructs its agenda’s steamrollering path.

With outrages such as this and this hitting us almost daily, I think it's time we start sending out pink slips to the Feds.

10 Things You Might Not Know About America's Independence

Here are some myth-busting historical facts from Fox News:

Independence was not something that was confined to Congress. It started out as a state and local thing. In fact, the very first Declaration of Independence came on Oct. 4, 1774 (21 months before the Continental Congress declared independence) from the town of Worcester, Mass. During the next 21 months a total of 90 state and local declarations of independence would be made.

American Troops Did Not fight Under the American Flag During the Revolution.

We Are Not a Democracy.

Our Founding Fathers Would Not Have Recited the Pledge: In fact, when ratifying the U.S. Constitution, some states, such as Virginia among others, specifically declared the right to secede from the Union should they feel it necessary just as an extra precaution to make sure that that state right was understood. Our Founders took their states rights very seriously and considered the U.S. Constitution to be a compact amongst the sovereign states.

Be sure to read this release from the national League of the South supporting Georgia's immigration law. It's time for the Tenth!

Quote of the day

"The Americans need to stay because we don't have control over our borders." Maj. Gen. Fadhel al-Barwari, commander of the Iraq Special Operations Force.

So it's vital the US control Iraq's borders, but not its own. Right.

Not a 24/7 job

Hey, have you noticed that the SPLC's Hatewatch blog ("Keeping an Eye on the Radical Right") only posts Monday through Friday?

I guess the surging neo-Nazi movement that's poised to take over the country any minute now must take weekends off.

More NAACP hypocrisy

The NAACP serves the ruling elite by spreading the lie that big government is a force of liberation. It DOES NOT serve the interests of Black people, as this story illustrates:

A prominent NAACP leader is sending her child to a posh New England boarding school at the same time the civil-rights group is suing to block low-income parents from educating their kids in charter schools, The Post has learned.

Karen Boykin-Towns, who heads the group's Brooklyn branch and serves on its national board, enrolls her daughter, Jasmine, at the bucolic, 80-acre Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, which charges up to $45,000 in annual tuition.

League of The South – I Was Wrong

From the Confederate Colonel:

In the past, I have written a number of times about my disagreement with the stated objectives of the League of The South. I now find myself having to say that for the current situation of this nation, I was wrong.

What has changed?

What could have changed the Colonel's mind? Here's his surprising answer.

It takes a big man to announce to the world that he's changed his mind.

Counties propose seceding from California

Why are 13 counties considering breaking away from a multicultural utopia like California? Here are a few reasons offered by the county supervisor leading this initiative:

[Jeff] Stone is slated to bring the secession proposal to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors on July 12. In explaining his proposal, he offered these discussion points:

•California’s taxes are among the highest in the nation yet our deteriorating services slip year after year while state officials prop up disastrous budget policies by draining resources needed to help local residents.
•Regulations to control greenhouse gasses, and other unnecessary rules, have chased businesses out of California and devastated the economy.
•Political infighting has paralyzed California for more than decade, creating a state that is too large to govern. [Sound familiar?]
•A huge portion of the state’s residents are on some form of public assistance and California has about 30 percent of the nation’s welfare load yet only 12 percent of the population.
•With limited resources available, California provides benefits that include in-state tuition to illegal immigrants, minimizing the financial resources available for legal residents who pay taxes.
•Once the darling of public education, California ranks 48th among states in test scores by one measure yet spends an exorbitant portion of the state budget on education.

Stone suggested the new state consider a part-time legislature, shifting governance more toward local control. Part-time legislators might receive only a $600 per month stipend and no other financial benefits except travel expenses to the new state capitol, he said.

Hmmm ... so it comes down to rapidly deteriorating economy, loss of security, and escalating costs to hold the unmanageable mess together?

I wonder where this trend will take us?

Denmark enacts border controls

The Multicult project is collapsing:

Denmark on Friday approved a decision to re-establish permanent customs checkpoints at its borders, removing the last hurdle to a plan aimed at stopping crime and illegal immigration but which has been strongly criticized in Europe as violating visa-free travel rules.

The 17-member parliamentary Finance Committee announced the approval after lawmakers voted to reject an opposition motion to abandon it.

Now, what can we do to hasten the death of this monster and restore sanity here at home?

Pre-schoolers prefer same-ethnicity playmates: study

Pesky human nature gums up the globalist agenda again:

Along with finger painting and story time, Canadian preschools are also spilling over with ethnic tension, according to a study released by Concordia University.

“We found Asian-Canadian and French-Canadian children seemed to prefer interacting with kids of the same ethnic background,” said report co-author Nadine Girouard in a Tuesday release.

At mixed-race day cares throughout Montreal, researchers took Asian-Canadian children and French Canadian children, ranging in age from three to five years old, and paired them up in rooms with “attractive toys” such as a marble track or a Sesame Street-themed playhouse. When put in with members of the same race, children happily played together. When mixed with different races, however, the children usually opted to play alone. Preschoolers “express a preference for same-ethnic interactions,” reads the study.

Flat-earth universalism would work just great if it wasn't for reality always getting in the way. Only an all-powerful central government, with its gulags and secret police and killing fields, can attempt to make men equal by mowing down those who don't conform.

That's why past attempts to impose "utopia" have always required the spilling of oceans of blood. And why an "anti-racist" such as Bill Ayers admits his followers "would have to eliminate 25 million Americans who would not conform to the new order."

But that's also why I am confident the left will lose. Yes, at the moment, they have a lot on their side, including the corporate media, an ambitious central government, and the educational establishment. However, it's all a house of cards that will collapse with a breath of air. (See this, for example.) Our enemies are up against a force they cannot comprehend.

Know hope.
