He's back! Freddy Kagan, the official spokeslump of the "pro-war, any war" crowd, is once again trying to spook the American public into paying for another war in the Middle East. His latest screed at The Weekly Standard
(where else?) is peppered with cries of "Wolf!" Problem is, the Neocons' hysterical demands are, thank God, falling on deaf ears this time. Kagan seems to think he only has to shout his false alarms louder. So he screams that "the security of Americans is profoundly threatened" and that "The threat to Americans is very real."
Wait -- threatened by Syria? Syria?
Sure it is.
In fact, this is yet another heavy-handed attempt to frighten Americans into fighting Israel's battles.
Americans are firmly against Obama's war plans. But Netanyahu and the Israel lobby demand it.
Have we finally wised up? I'd say there's hope that perhaps we have.
