Quote of the day

"Texans spoke loud and clear by overwhelmingly voting to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman in our Constitution, and it is not the role of the federal government to overturn the will of our citizens. The 10th Amendment guarantees Texas voters the freedom to make these decisions, and this is yet another attempt to achieve via the courts what couldn't be achieved at the ballot box. We will continue to fight for the rights of Texans to self-determine the laws of our state." - Texas Governor Rick Perry in response to a federal judge ruling Texas' same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional.

The courts in Utah, Oklahoma, Virginia, Texas et al are creating the ideal circumstances for a new Confederate States of America.

Good for him! But at what point does he (we) realize that continuing to shell out our time and treasure to unending legal appeals against a LAWLESS and tyrannical government is vain?

Go, Texas!

Big talk, Governor. Let's see some actual defiance and then you might start something that will garner you lots of support from everywhere.

Big Chief,

Mr. Perry has let us down in the past. It wouldn't surprise me to see him drop the ball yet again.

The day Rick Perry DOES something, I will gladly eat my shoe. He talks big, until he gets called to the carpet by his Federal Overlords. He will do nothing.

Clint,

Yeah, that seems to be Perry's SOP.

But who knows? Maybe his words, empty though they may be, will spur folks on to real activism.
