This day in history

In 1844, the Dominican Republic gained independence from Haiti.

The Black majority in Haiti seceded from France, then the Hispanic majority in the Dominican half of the island seceded from Haiti. People all over the world want a government that reflects their own culture and values. Who's to say they shouldn't have it? And the world keeps spinning around...
