Could Texas really secede from the union?

Sooner or later, it's going to happen. Look at any history book -- ALL political organizations eventually lose their coherence and fall apart. The only question is how rough or how gentle will be the breakup. And with the Age of Empire long dead, and the justification for the old 19th- and 20th-century megastate no longer relevant to modern reality, the growing movement for self-determination in Texas simply reflects what's happening all over the world:

“Do I believe there is a chance that this will get on the ballot at some point? Absolutely,” said Texas Nationalist Movement President Daniel Miller. ...

“What we are seeing from Texans is that they believe that the right of self determination for Texans to decide the way that we govern ourselves is the best course for Texas,” explained Miller.

And that's exactly what 24 year-old Farrah Fincke said too.

“I feel like a lot of people in Texas aren't for a lot of the stuff that the U.S. government is trying push on us and it would give us the freedom to not have to do that,” said Fincke.
Of course, there are opponents to Texan self-determination, and the article continues with their comments about how sparkly wonderful the "Union" is and that it just isn't thinkable that anyone would want out. They have a point. Crushing debt, demographic upheaval, citizen surveillance, perpetual war -- all brought to us by a central government and paid for by us -- well, who wouldn't want to hold on to those things?

Texas will be a blue state in the not-to-distant future, for reasons that don't have to be spelled out. They're going to hang on to Federal gibs until the gibs runs out.

The U.S. military had better understand that this is a political matter and they have no business sticking their noses into politics.

Texas will not be leaving the food trough any more than Kuwait will be leaving OPEC?

Cheap nannys, pool boys, roofers, landscapers, and maids?........A dream come true for "South Fork"!

The rich of Texas have no problem with illegal immigrants?.......Bring on the serfs!.......Pretty Mexican girls love to marry wealthy Texas sons.

Texas became rich off of Illegal Mexicans, as did Miami Cubans got rich off of poor Cubans, El Salvadorans, Guatamalans, Panamanians, and the balance of 3rd world immigrants stealing into America?

Where do you think Jeb Bush learned that shit!..............."CHEAP LABOR=MORE PROFITS!"
