Scientists on brink of bringing back extinct beasts...

Oh, they mean beasts such as aurochs. When I first saw the headline, I thought it meant scientists had found a way to bring back conservative Democrats.

Fix Immigration. It’s What Voters Want.

Despite my reservations about Donald Trump as president, one solid benefit of his win is that immigration control is now an open topic for discussion. For decades, all immigration was touted as an unqualified good. Now that the gulp! New York Times is featuring an immigration control article, the topic has clearly emerged from the shadows:

Yet many powerful industries benefit from such immigration. They’re arguing that immigration controls are creating a low-skilled labor shortage.

These same industries contend that stricter immigration enforcement will further shrink the pool of workers and raise their wages. They argue that closing our borders to inexpensive foreign labor will force employers to add benefits and improve workplace conditions to attract and keep workers already here.

I have an answer to these charges: Exactly.

Higher wages, better benefits and more security for American workers are features, not bugs, of sound immigration reform. For too long, our immigration policy has skewed toward the interests of the wealthy and powerful: Employers get cheaper labor, and professionals get cheaper personal services like housekeeping. We now need an immigration policy that focuses less on the most powerful and more on everyone else.
I remember when the Occupy movement hit the streets protesting income inequality. And they had a point -- the system is indeed rigged to favor the top 2%. But one of the things those protesters failed to grasp is that the chief reason the middle class has been slipping is the elite's support for open borders and the cheap, exploitable labor that policy guarantees. Cesar Chavez, an icon of the left, militantly advocated for tight immigration controls because the agribusiness owners he confronted wanted the borders open so they could keep wages and benefits low.

But the days when leftists stand up for "workers" have vanished. Even those on the left who understand the impact of uncontrolled immigration on wages don't care; they're so full of hate for whites they can't wait for American demographics to shift toward a brown majority and the utopia they imagine that will herald.

What does Third-World immigration bring us?

Terror cells, for one thing. And that's not coming from the usual immigration restriction activists, but from a federal judge and a team of federal prosecutors in Minneapolis:

In sentencing nine young Somali-Minnesotans on terror conspiracy charges this week, U.S. District Judge Michael Davis closed a chapter in the federal government’s long, extraordinary investigation of ISIL recruitment in Minnesota.

“Everyone talks about Brussels or Paris having cells,” Davis said one day, then, raising his voice: “We have a cell here in Minneapolis.”

Saying the Minnesota public had “danced around” the issue, Davis described the cell’s size as being between nine to 20, including those sentenced last week and others killed abroad.

Federal prosecutors seemed to share Davis’ conviction. In an unusual development on Wednesday, they asked that two defendants, Mohamed Farah and Abdirahman Daud, be returned to the courtroom after their hearings were finished. Prosecutors said both men flashed index fingers pointed upward as they faced the gallery on their way out, an apparent symbol of “tawhid” that symbolizes an Islamic concept of “oneness of God” but is also a popular symbol used by ISIL supporters.
Muslim immigration -- the gift that keeps on giving, whether you want it or not.

Richard Adams, RIP

Sad news from Britain. Author Richard Adams has died:

The author of Watership Down, Richard Adams, has died aged 96, his daughter has said.

Juliet Johnson said her father had been "ailing for some time" but "died peacefully" on Christmas Eve.

Watership Down, a children's classic about a group of rabbits in search of a new home after their warren was destroyed, was first published in 1972.

Adams was 52 when he wrote it, after first telling the story to his two daughters on a long car journey.

It went on to become a best-seller, with tens of millions of copies bought around the world.
Adams felt a special connection with animals. His classic tale Traveller, about General Robert E. Lee's horse, is one that should be in every Southern home. From Richard Adams' official web site:

Traveller, the war-horse of the great Confederate general Robert E. Lee is dreaming away his last months in a stable in retirement. Old and almost blind, his last remaining animal friend, Tom Cat, is his sole audience as he reminisces about the days of fear, courage, blood and horror in the camps and battlefields of the Civil War. Traveller describes the scenes of the war as a horse would sense them, and tries to draw out the dimly-understood threads of his beloved master's struggles against their deadly enemy - the Blue men.

Quote of the day

"All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide. To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian revolution, that was a good thing indeed." George Ciccariello-Maher, professor of history and politics at Drexel University.

There's something about these folks with double-barrelled names ...

China rediscovers itself

Wednesday we noted how the world-wide reawakening of deep-rooted, historical identity is manifesting itself in India. This article from the Economist discusses how the ostensible communist regime in China has evolved from internationalism to an energetic nationalism based on ethnic pride:

Ethnicity is central to China’s national identity. It is the Han, 1.2bn of them in mainland China alone, that most people refer to as “Chinese”, rather than the country’s minorities, numbering 110m people. Ethnicity and nationality have become almost interchangeable for China’s Han, says James Leibold of La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. That conflation is of fundamental importance. It defines the relations between the Han and other ethnic groups. By narrowing its legal labour market almost entirely to people of Han descent, ethnicity is shaping the country’s economy and development. And it strains foreign relations, too. Even ethnic Han whose families left for other countries generations ago are often regarded as part of a coherent national group, both by China’s government and people.
Abstract, vapory slogans cannot inspire meaning and identity in the human soul. The crusade to erase historical identity and replace it with appeals to "tolerance" and "multiculturalism" has turned shrill and overbearing because it has no natural, innate appeal. Nationalism, however, most definitely does. That's why leftist movements resort to authoritarian government and intimidation; nothing else can implement their anti-human agenda.

A world of voluntary, small city-states and region-states will be more free, more prosperous, and more peaceful. I say, bring it on.

Pro-Secession Group Opens California ‘Embassy’ In Moscow

The paradigm of the unified, coercive megastate dominated most of the 19th and 20th centuries. But you know what? That bloody and inhuman age has passed. The latest manifestation of the new age of smaller, human-scaled political units comes from the Bear Republic, aka California. The Golden State is asserting its right to self-government rather theatrically:

If California voters ever decide to secede from the United States, they could have at least one partner on the international stage: Russia.

The Yes California Independence Campaign – which is leading an effort to bring a secession initiative to the 2019 ballot – opened what the group called a cultural center and “people’s embassy” in Moscow this week.

The San Diego-based group first launched the initiative following Donald Trump’s resounding election night victory and garnered support from Silicon Valley investor Shervin Pishevar, who says the world’s sixth-largest economy would have no trouble competing as an independent state on the global stage.
That sound you here is George Soros gnashing his false teeth.

ISIS 'kill list' includes 1,700 Americans, churches, and synagogue members

In the wake of the Christmas massacre in Berlin, this warning about new ISIS-led attacks on Western civilians demands quick action.

Never fear! Your guardians in DC know exactly what to do, as this USA Today headline shows: U.S. surpasses Syrian refugee goal set by Obama, expects more next year

See? Nothing to worry about.

Authorities Suspect Voter Intimidation in Burning, Vandalism of Mississippi Church

Chilling headline, huh? Yes, last month, an arsonist struck a black church in Greenville, Mississippi. The Southern Poverty Law Center wasn't there, but they claimed to have a magic way of knowing who was responsible, and why they did it: Trump supporters wanted to oppress black people, and keep them from voting for Hillary Clinton! After all, everyone knows the best way to score votes for your candidate is to burn a church. Besides, Trump supporters always sign their work, right? There couldn't be any doubt that it was voter intimidation. From Hatewatch:

Fire fighters arrived to find Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church “heavily engulfed in flames” with the words “Vote Trump” spray-painted on the side of the building, according to Mayor Errick Simmons, who spoke at a press conference Wednesday morning.

“This kind of attack happened in the 1950s, and 1960s, but it shouldn’t happen in 2016,” Simmons said. “Last night’s attack appears to be a race crime: the church has always been a symbol of the black community and a place for communication around civil rights, the same rights black communities were deprived.”
The moral and intellectual aristocracy who broadcast their indignation and morality in the Hatewatch comments section was quick to add its two cents' worth. A sampling:

Mary • 2 months ago

Stay strong, Greenville. Please don't let this stop you from voting.

Reporter Aron Pax • 2 months ago

Given that the Ku Klux Klan has endorsed Trump and that the Klan has a history of burning black churches and terrorizing the community, isn't it just possible that this arson is exactly what it appears to be? The "dumbest racist" Klansman also knows that his endorsement hurts Trump, but that doesn't keep him from doing it.
And so on. But that was then. Authorities have finally arrested the perp. It's a black man who's also a member of the congregation. Doh!

I'm sure the SPLC will send a formal apology to President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters. Any second now ... wait for it ...

The Cult of the Hindu Cowboy

Yes, you read that correctly; there is a growing movement of patriotic Indians who call themselves Hindu cowboys. But instead of branding, herding, and driving their cows to market, these men see themselves as gau rakshaks, or cow protectors. These sacred cows have some VERY dedicated protectors:

The cowboy believes, most of all, in holy war against everyone whose culture approves the killing of the blessed bovine – Muslims, Christians, Hindu outcastes. The cow is for him a symbol not just of Hinduism, but of India itself. He believes the time has come to cleanse the country of cow-eaters.

As the motto of India’s fiercest band of cowboys puts it, ‘To protect our culture and our civilization, we must do as the Vedas say. And the Vedas tell us this – if an infidel kills a cow, we are to pump his body with bullets.’
This is just another instance of the popular backlash against the anonymity, rootlessness, and dead conformity of globalism. Take that, George Soros.

ISIS claims responsibility for Berlin Terror attack

Here we go again. This time, a terrorist from Pakistan plowed into a Christmas celebration in Berlin:

Nine people are dead and about 50 injured after a truck rammed into a crowd in Kurfürstendamm when the lorry careened through the stalls.

Officials said the truck's passenger died at the scene while a suspect, possibly the driver, was taken into custody.

I couldn't help but curse when I saw this:

German chancellor Angela Merkel is "in deep grief over the dead and hope the injured can be saved."

Hey, Frau Merkel, do you have any concern about those who haven't yet fallen victim to the terrorists you've brought into Germany? This woman needs to be impeached and then tried for aiding and abetting terror.

Charlotte council repeals controversial ‘bathroom’ non-discrimination ordinance

The radical city ordinance that sparked the HB2 bill is no more. From the Charlotte Observer:

A Charlotte City Council Monday voted Monday to repeal its controversial non-discrimination ordinance, commonly known as the ‘bathroom’ ordinance. The council met earlier in the morning with with Charlotte area lawmakers.

The ordinance was pushed through the council in early 2016, just months into Mayor Jennifer Roberts’ tenure, and required businesses to allow people to use the bathroom corresponding to their gender identity.

In response, Republicans in the North Carolina General Assembly convened a one-day special session to pass its own legislation that rendered Charlotte’s ordinance null.
The original ordinance had nothing to do with protecting anyone's rights; it was instead a thrust for Cultural Marxism and against traditional society. There wasn't any crisis of "trannies" being victimized that the ordinance addressed. In fact, these people have EVERY right anyone else possesses. What the ordinance did was to give certain people the power to bulldoze social norms. That is NOT a legitimate right.

I wish I could say this was the end of the battle, but I doubt it.

Star Bores!

Don't hate the latest Star Wars movie because it's anti-White. Hate it because it's bad and boring:

“Star Wars” movies have been dazzling, infuriating, heartbreaking, silly, witty, convoluted, gripping and overblown. But until “Rogue One: A Star Wars” story, I don’t think “dull” was the most appropriate adjective.

“Dull” is a vague word, so let’s break it down: hackneyed, repetitive, unsurprising, under-characterized. This tale, placed chronologically between episodes three and four, has no reason to exist. We know the rebels will get plans that let them destroy the Death Star in “A New Hope.” Who cares how they did it, when the storytelling is so pedestrian?
This scathing review, by the way, is from the Charlotte Observer's Lawrence Toppman, who I can assure you is NOT an alt-right reviewer.

Richest Counties in U.S. Are Suburbs of D.C.

How about that? The four richest counties in the DC Empire are clustered around DC. It pays to live close to The Capitol, where tribute from all the conquered districts flows inward.

Gun control stalwart lawmaker Chaka Fattah gets 10 years for racketeering

Uh-oh. Another Democrat's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar:

Former U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, the 11-term Pennsylvania congressman and longtime advocate for more gun regulation, was sentenced Monday on a host of bribery charges.

U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III sentenced Fattah, 60, this week following conviction in June on racketeering, bribery, wire fraud, honest services fraud and money laundering conspiracies. Bartle handed down a sentence of 120 months in prison and ordered the former lawmaker to pay some $600,000 in restitution.

Born Arthur Davenport in Philadelphia, his mother changed his name to Chaka Fattah to acknowledge their African ethnicity when he was a child. Fattah, a Democrat, was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the West Philly area in 1983 and left the state legislature in 1994 when he defeated U.S. Rep. Lucien Edward Blackwell for Pennsylvania’s 2nd district, a seat he held for 22 years until he resigned following his conviction.
Remember, money doesn't break racketeering laws, greedy politicians break racketeering laws.

‘I Am a Gay Mixed-Race Woman. I Am Intimidated By These Students’

This would be funny if it wasn't so creepy. Leftist professors are finding themselves increasingly threatened by the lunatic radicalism of the very students they helped radicalize:

I teach at Reed. I am intimidated by these students. I am scared to teach courses on race, gender, or sexuality, or even texts that bring these issues up in any way—and I am a gay mixed-race woman. There is a serious problem here and at other [selective liberal arts colleges], and I'm at a loss as to how to begin to address it, especially since many of these students don't believe in either historicity or objective facts. (They denounce the latter as being a tool of the white cisheteropatriarchy.)
I predict these bratty social justice warriors will burn themselves out the same way their role models in the Chinese Cultural Revolution did. In the meantime, we should sit back and enjoy the spectacle of the children of the Revolution devouring their parents.

So Who Is Prompting "Faithless Electors" To Dump Trump?

Friends of Hillary, Bill, and Barack are busy at work trying to destroy "our democracy" by refusing to abide by the results of the election. Hillary said that for Trump to do that would be a threat, but it seems that it's no threat if she does it. Double Standard??? A hard-hitting post by Al Benson, Jr.

From the Department of "Oops!"

Green Party loon Jill Stein knew something was wrong with the presidential election count in Michigan, but the problem wasn't what she thought:

Green Party nominee Jill Stein’s presidential vote recount in Michigan may have turned up massive voter irregularities — in the Democratic stronghold of Detroit.

Now it’s Republican leaders who are demanding an investigation to determine why a third of the city’s voting machines registered more ballots than actual voters, the Detroit News reported.

Ruth Johnson, the Republican secretary of state, is launching an audit.

Republican state Sen. Patrick Colbeck called the probe a good start on the suspicious results turned up in Detroit, which Hillary Clinton won with 95 percent of the vote.
Too funny!

How California can wave goodbye to the US

Paul Moreno teaches constitutional history at Hillsdale College. His ideas on how California could break away from the DC Empire are worth serious consideration. From Fox:

Why couldn’t we cede California back for, say, $415 million (what $15 million in 1848 dollars is worth today)? Maybe that’s what candidate Trump and Mexican President Nieto were talking about last summer. The proceeds would pay for the border wall after all. San Francisco wouldn’t need to be a “sanctuary city” for Mexican illegals, it would be part of Mexico again.

While easier than “unanimous consent,” retrocession would be difficult if it required an old-fashioned treaty and ratification by two-thirds of the Senate. While President Obama would feel free to retrocede by “executive agreement” with his “pen and phone,” President-elect Trump would have proper constitutional scruples.
Dr. Moreno also argues California could reclaim its independence if the other States agree. No objection from me.

Gun control flick 'Miss Sloane' flops at the box office

The good news is that Miss Sloane is the latest lefty flick to crash and burn at theaters. The better news is that it's not the only one:

The film, which premiered in select cities on Thanksgiving, hit more theaters this past weekend, and it fizzled in its wide expansion, earning $1.9 million from 1,648 locations.

According to Deadline, “Miss Sloane” cost $13 million to produce. It currently has a score of 69 percent on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Add this stinker to two other notable Hollywood failures this year: The Free State of Jones, which cost $50 million and earned only $25 million; and the repulsive Birth of a Nation, which is projected to cost Fox a hefty $10 million. Serves 'em right!

Hey, Hollywood, how about some pro-Southern, conservative movies? You know, the kind REAL people want to see.

99 Dallas officers have quit or retired in last 10 weeks

The city of Dallas, Texas, is losing its most experienced police officers:

Nearly 100 officers in the Dallas Police Department have quit or retired since October, according to multiple reports, worsening the department’s deficit of personnel.

CBS 11 reported that most of the 99 who left since Oct. 1 were some of Dallas’ most experienced officers, according to the incoming president of the Dallas Police Association. ...

The Morning News reported the department has a rising crime rate on top of troubled pension funds and low salaries compared to other cities.
It isn't too difficult to guess why this is happening. The summer saw a rash of attacks on police officers. In fact, Dallas was where one self-appointed judge and executioner acted on the fiery rhetoric from Black Lives Matter and killed 5 Dallas police officers.

At a neighborhood party last month, a veteran officer who lives nearby told me he was getting out. He'd faced down the rioters in September, which was just the icing on the cake for him. He already felt worn down by the hysterical, in-your-face attitude of the people on his beat. He said, "Let them handle their problems themselves."

Who can blame him? When Dallas, Charlotte, and other cities start to look more like Chicago, then the BLM loonies can congratulate themselves for freeing their people of oppression by White cops. Yeah. Good job.

The War on Western Civilization

China doesn't need to go to war with America, not when American students are gutting the country from within, as these multicult thugs at UPenn did:

Students at the University of Pennsylvania removed a portrait of Shakespeare from a prominent location in the school’s English department after complaining that he did not represent a diverse range of writers.

In fact, the chair of the department confirmed in a statement that the portrait was stripped from the wall by his students as “a way of affirming their commitment to a more inclusive mission for the English department,” The Daily Pennsylvanian reports.
As if it wasn't bad enough these SJWs had to vandalize a portrait of one of the greatest geniuses of world literature, they replaced him with a third-rate lesbian writer. But then, SJWs scream that merit is a tool of white supremacy. Now you know.

Dutch populist leader Wilders rises in polls after conviction

Need a feel-good story? Dutch patriot Geert Wilders has a doozy for you:

The party of populist anti-Islam Dutch MP Geert Wilders has risen strongly in the polls since the lawmaker was tried and convicted of discrimination, according to a survey published Sunday.

If legislative elections due next March were held this week, Wilders' Freedom Party (PVV) would pick up 36 out of 150 seats in the lower house of parliament, making it the biggest single political group, it found.

Before the trial began on October 31, the PVV was credited with 27 seats.
While this show trial was proceeding, I was impressed and heartened by Mr. Wilders' courage. He did not apologize for voicing the facts of uncontrolled immigration into his country. He did not issue a mealy mouthed release claiming his comments were taken out of context. No, instead he stuck to his guns. And the Dutch people -- the REAL Dutch people -- rewarded him.

It is my hope we will one day have such a brave and authentic defender of traditional America.

Disgruntled Democrats Want A Constitutional Convention To Leave The Union

Another call for California secession, this time from Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA):

"Rational people, not the fringe, are now talking about whether states could be separated from the U.S., whether we should have a Constitutional Convention. And I think as time goes on that is apt to become more the case unless we here can figure an answer to preventing the majority from being ruled by the minority."
I'm so old, I can remember when advocating secession was purely fringe. The old "golden rule" of American politics may be proven true once again: "As California Goes, So Goes the Country." We'll see.

SPLC Ignores Classroom Slurs Against White Students

With yet another of its trademark shocking titles: “Ten Days After: Harassment and Intimidation in the Aftermath of the Election," the Southern Poverty Law Center put its special spin on a survey of teachers to give the impression Trump's election inspired budding White racists in grade school to bully their minority school mates.

Of course, we've come to expect the SPLC to fan the flames of racial discord to keep frightened liberals to continue sending donations to the SPLC's bulging treasury. But this time, they got caught: Seems they, um, overlooked a question about anti-White incidents, as this report from the New York Post reveals:

Bokenkamp did not provide an explanation for the absence of such a substantial metric — at least 2,000 bias-related incidents against white students — from the report, which focuses instead on “anti-immigrant sentiment,” “anti-Muslim sentiment” and “slurs about students of color” related to the election.

“They left that result out because it would not fit their ideological narrative,” former Education Department civil rights attorney Hans Bader said. “It was deemed an inconvenient truth.”

Founded in 1971, SPLC claims to be a nonpartisan civil rights law firm. But it receives funding from leftist groups, including ones controlled by billionaire George Soros. And a review of Federal Election Commission records reveals that its board members have contributed more than $13,400 to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns.
You want hateful bias? Look no further than the anti-White, anti-Christian SPLC.

The Hell General Sherman made

The latest at the American Conservative features an overview of General William T. Sherman, whose relentless war on Southern civilians, and his "final solution of the Indian problem,” set the stage for the DC Empire's brutality against Filipinos, Japanese, and Vietnamese.

States' Rights for the Left

I don't usually read the Carlos Slim Blog, which claims to publish all the news that's fit, but actually publishes leftist and pro-establishment propaganda. But this piece on how blue islands in a sea of red are re-asserting their power in defiance of the coming Trump administration caught my attention. Jeffrey Rosen sees renewed interest in States' Rights, the interpretation of the Constitution long advocated by conservatives:

IN the wake of the presidential election, as Democrats realized that Republicans will soon control all three branches of the federal government, progressives disinclined to secede from the Union rediscovered another exit strategy: states’ rights. ...

Since the 1930s, progressives have unapologetically embraced Hamiltonian big government. But in rediscovering the virtues of Jeffersonian small government, Democrats and liberals are returning to a tradition of “progressive federalism” that they favored before the New Deal and the Great Society — and that they began to revive during the second Bush administration.

Jefferson viewed American history as a clash between centralization and decentralization, between monopolistic financiers and agrarian producers. Jefferson proposed a constitutional amendment that would have prohibited Congress from chartering corporate monopolies and opposed Hamilton’s Bank of the United States because the claim that Congress had “implied powers” to charter corporations would clash with the 10th Amendment, which protects states’ rights.
As I've noted previously (see here and here), leftist states and cities will tend to go their own way, paving the way to the ultimate devolution of the DC Empire into numerous, human-scaled, more peaceful units. Let a thousand flowers bloom.

Major blow to EU in "heavy referendum defeat"

In Italy, the referendum to centralize greater power in Rome was soundly defeated, dealing what may be a knockout blow to the already wounded European Union. By 59.1% to 40.9%, Italians rejected the measure, which aimed to prop up and expand the EU and its program of open borders and unlimited immigration.

The nationalist revolt continues to surge.

ADL: Newly uncovered remarks by Keith Ellison are ‘disturbing and disqualifying’

Uh-oh. Looks like we have some fault lines in the multicultural paradise that's taking the place of the historic USA. The Anti-Defamation League sternly tsk-tsks Rep. Keith Ellison's latest statement on Israel. Ellison, who is Muslim, is a contender to take over the Democratic Party. He favors (surprise!) a less Israel-centric US foreign policy:

“The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of 7 million people. A region of 350 million all turns on a country of 7 million. Does that make sense? Is that logic? Right? When the Americans who trace their roots back to those 350 million get involved, everything changes.”
And here's the ADL's response:

Rep. Ellison’s remarks are both deeply disturbing and disqualifying. His words imply that U.S. foreign policy is based on religiously or national origin-based special interests rather than simply on America’s best interests. Additionally, whether intentional or not, his words raise the specter of age-old stereotypes about Jewish control of our government, a poisonous myth that may persist in parts of the world where intolerance thrives, but that has no place in open societies like the U.S.
American is quickly becoming the arena for all the world's conflicts. Jews vs. Blacks. Blacks vs. Latinos. Turks vs. Armenians. Haitians vs. American Blacks.

And more combustible mixtures are forming under our noses. Yes, the US is gonna be a fun place in the next few decades.

‘Sweet Home Alabama’ Frightens New Yorkers

Delicate Brooklynites realize the "other America" won the election, and they can't handle it. Brace yourself for some metrosexual trauma:

Three days after the election, my wife and I were shopping at the Fairway Market in Red Hook, Brooklyn. For those unfamiliar with it, Fairway is a less corporate, more co-op version of Whole Foods, offering pretty produce and exotic cheeses that don’t come cheap. The mood in the store was glum. As in most of Brooklyn, people stared ahead, moving slowly, still in shock from the political earthquake of Tuesday night.

After getting our Brazilian Arabica ground for drip (I know, I should really use a French Press), Libby and I walked towards the organic maple syrup. That’s when it started. I suppose there had been music playing in the store, but I hadn’t noticed until a familiar guitar lick pierced the air and a soft voice said, “Turn it up.”

Libby and I both stopped and looked at each other. “Seriously?” said my wife, a very disappointed Clinton supporter. She started gripping her soft Tomme Crayeuse a little too hard. By the time Ronnie Van Zant’s drawl started in with “Big wheels keep on turnin’,” everyone in the store was standing in shock. Brows were furrowed, people mumbled to each other. The song seemed to get louder as one of those New York moments happened, when everyone was thinking the exact the same thing.

A woman in her fifties, wearing a Love Trump Hates button, turned to her Brooklyn-bearded husband and said loudly, “This is unbelievable!” She found the nearest store clerk, a young woman in a green apron who was staring up at the ceiling, looking for the invisible speakers blaring this message from the other America. “This is so inappropriate,” the woman said. “Can we turn this off?”
Wow. And we let these people win The War?

Quote of the day

"During and shortly after the election, I was traveling in the old Confederacy. There was a real sense of joy at Trump’s success. A black cloud, the cloud of political correctness, had long weighed Dixie down. On November 9 it lifted. Southerners saw and talked about the difference. Retailers told me business picked up sharply after the vote. Cultural pessimism had been replaced with optimism. The future was no longer fated to be a slow death by drowning in the sludge of cultural Marxism." - William Lind

Some blacks applaud Castro legacy of racial equality

The comments of civil rights leaders on the death of Fidel Castro are very interesting. Check out these observations from Jesse Jackson and Sam Riddle:

"While Castro unfortunately denied many political freedoms, he at the same time did establish many economic freedoms — education and health care," Jackson said. "He changed the world. While we may not agree with all of Castro's actions, we can accept his lesson that where there is oppression there must be resistance."

"It was Fidel who fought for the human rights for black Cubans," said Riddle, political director of the Michigan Chapter of the National Action Network. "Many Cubans are as black as any black who worked the fields of Mississippi or lived in Harlem. He believed in medical care and education for his people."
If you ever wondered what type of society civil rights activists want, look no further than Communist Cuba, where EVERYONE is equally miserable (except the ruling elite). After all, socialism is nothing but systematized envy, and civil rights, critical race theory, and social justice are theories and movements supporting racialized socialism, with Blacks, Latinos, or LGBTs taking the place of the proletariat. So when you hear someone blabbering about the next step in the sacred name of "civil rights," you know what their actual goal is.

What do fans of Al-Awlaki want?

Here's the ABC News report on the latest Muslim terror attack, this time at Ohio State University:

Authorities are investigating an anti-U.S. rant posted on Facebook just minutes before the Ohio State University attack today that is believed to be linked to suspect Abdul Razak Ali Artan, sources told ABC News.

Appearing three minutes before the beginning of the rampage that left 11 people injured, the post reads: “I can’t take it anymore. America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially the Muslim Ummah. We are not weak. We are not weak, remember that.”

The post also invokes the name Anwar Al-Awlaki, a radical American-born al-Qaeda cleric, describing him as a “hero." Al-Awlaki was killed in 2011 but his propaganda has been linked to several domestic terrorist attacks in the years after his death.

“If you want us Muslims to stop carrying lone wolf attacks, then make peace,” the post reads. “We will not let you sleep unless you give peace to the Muslims.”
Hmm -- sounds like a threat to me. But it just COULDN'T have been terrorism, because Artan was vetted by the US State Department when Catholic Charities of Dallas had him and his family brought to this country as refugees. Right.

The most bizarre coverage came from NPR, which didn't bother to ask the victims, their families, or any other Americans how they felt about their government importing nearly 100,000 Somali Muslims into their country. Instead, their story focused on the delicate feelings of Somali immigrants. Here's the story: Muslim Community Fears Backlash After Ohio State Attack.

Wow. Imagine that after human cockroach Dylann Roof shot his victims in Charleston last year, NPR sought out Southerners fearful of a backlash against Confederate monuments. Yes, it's that crazy.

Quote of the day

"I’m a Muslim, it’s not what the media portrays me to be." - Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a Somali refugee now living in Ohio, who drove his car into a group of students today, got out, and started stabbing people with a butcher knife.

He's right, though not in the way he imagines. Just remember this: The proper pronunciation of "Somali" is: O·hi′o·an

Fidel Castro, tyrant and mass murderer, dies at 90

Yay! One less commie in the world!

This release from Raul Castro is just too perfect:

In compliance with the expressed will of Companion Fidel, his remains will be cremated. In the early hours of Saturday 26, the funeral organizing committee will provide our people with detailed information on the organization of the posthumous Homage that will be taxed to the founder of the Cuban Revolution.
Yes, let the despot's last act be one more tax on his long-suffering, impoverished people. How fitting. May he rot in hell.

Gender Ideology Harms Children

Leftist ideology has long been a foe of objective science. So when their other-worldly doctrine smacks headlong into reality, the left's usual response is to conjure a make-believe "science" that appears to validate approved doctrine, such as Lysenkoism, which tried to prop up Marxist ideology. The latest (and wackiest) campaign is transgenderism, which accepts as indisputable gospel that a person can magically transform themselves from male to female or female to male by "identifying" with that gender. North Carolina's HB2 law took a contrary view by putting legal support for traditional sex roles. The media, Hollywood, and the entire leftist horde is still trying to overturn that law.

So what a pleasant surprise to see the American College of Pediatricians stand up for reason and common sense in this position statement entitled Gender Ideology Harms Children:

The American College of Pediatricians urges educators and legislators to reject all policies that condition children to accept as normal a life of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex. Facts – not ideology – determine reality.

1. Human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait: “XY” and “XX” are genetic markers of male and female, respectively – not genetic markers of a disorder. The norm for human design is to be conceived either male or female. Human sexuality is binary by design with the obvious purpose being the reproduction and flourishing of our species. This principle is self-evident. The exceedingly rare disorders of sex development (DSDs), including but not limited to testicular feminization and congenital adrenal hyperplasia, are all medically identifiable deviations from the sexual binary norm, and are rightly recognized as disorders of human design. Individuals with DSDs do not constitute a third sex.1

3. A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking.

8. Conditioning children into believing that a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse. Endorsing gender discordance as normal via public education and legal policies will confuse children and parents, leading more children to present to “gender clinics” where they will be given puberty-blocking drugs. This, in turn, virtually ensures that they will “choose” a lifetime of carcinogenic and otherwise toxic cross-sex hormones, and likely consider unnecessary surgical mutilation of their healthy body parts as young adults.
I quoted three points, but it's definitely worth while to read the entire statement. These days, we need to drink in all the sanity boosters we can find.

Al Qaeda'a secret weapon for defeating US: Immigration

4th Generation Warfare continues to evolve, while our idiot leaders are stuck in the 20th century. Al Qaeda has weaponized mass migration:

The jailed architect of 9/11 revealed that al Qaeda's plan to kill the United States was not through military attacks but immigration and "outbreeding nonmuslims" who would use the legal system to install Sharia law, according to a blockbuster new book.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed also predicted that intelligence officials using so-called "enhanced interrogation" techniques such the waterboarding he experienced would eventually come under attack from weak-kneed U.S. politicians and media.
And this won't be the first time Muslims have used mass migration to overwhelm and conquer territory. Morocco snatched Spanish Sahara in north Africa in 1975 by sending hundreds of thousands of civilians into the territory. Will we let history repeat itself? If we do, this time it will be both tragedy and farce.

Quote of the day

"Beyond a certain point a formerly great empire becomes so dysfunctional that smaller, more cohesive neighbors begin tearing it apart. Eventually the capacity for cooperation declines to such a low level that barbarians can strike at the very heart of the empire without encountering significant resistance. But barbarians at the gate are not the real cause of imperial collapse. They are a consequence of the failure to sustain social cooperation." - Peter Turchin, in Ultrasociety

Anti-Trump Californians file paperwork, launch secession campaign

The #Calexit movement is speeding along:

Anti-Trump secessionists filed formal paperwork Monday launching their petition drive aimed at separating California from the union by first putting the issue before voters on the 2018 ballot.

A petition submitted by the Yes California Independence Campaign calls for repealing language in the state constitution that describes California as an “inseparable part” of the nation and holding a vote on independence on March 13, 2019.

Organizers, who filed the petition with the California attorney general, said they plan to begin collecting signatures early next year to qualify for the ballot.

At the same time, the group is planning to hold #Calexit rallies in Los Angeles and San Francisco during the Jan. 20 inauguration of president-elect Donald Trump.
Can you imagine? No more San Francisco liberals telling us what to do. With Oakland out of the country, our crime rate would drop by half. And while Hollyweird is already an alien country, it would be in a foreign one.

I wonder if the #Calexit movement needs donations?

Marine Le Pen takes huge lead in French presidential election poll

The patriotic tide continues to swell throughout the West. The latest uprising is roiling the French race for president, where Marine Le Pen has taken the lead:

Front National leader Marine Le Pen has taken a sizeable lead over Nicolas Sarkozy in a new French presidential election poll.

The far-right leader had 29 per cent of the vote when pitted against Les Républicains’ former president, who was eight points behind, and held a 15-point lead over the Parti de Gauche’s Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the poll released by Ipsos.

It was one of five scenarios for the first round of France's 2017 presidential elections on 23 April, although one that did not include Les Républicains’ Alain Juppé – who remains strong favourite to succeed Francois Hollande as leader.

While Mr Juppé holds leads of between 4 and 7 per cent in three other scenarios including him, the results are likely to add to growing fears that the rise of global populism could see Ms Le Pen secure a surprise victory in the wake of the UK’s Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s US election win.
What could explain Le Pen's surprising strength, or, for that matter, Brexit and the Trump upset? Maybe -- just MAYBE -- people don't want their nations looking like this:

When Antifa attack!

Anti-free speech antifa attacked a peaceful NPI conference. Fortunately, police were on hand to nab the thugs:

The group was generally peaceful until a man and a woman from NPI approached the group with a video camera and microphone, prompting protesters to yell "Nazis go home." The woman, who wouldn't give CNN her name but wore a badge saying "Emily," appeared to interview a protester, asking him if he is a "self-hating white person."

Another protester knocked the man's video camera, and a scuffle ensued between the two. A few other protesters entered the fray yelling "Die, Nazi, die," and the man from NPI reemerged with a bloody gash on his forehead. He declined to give his name.

Two protesters were handcuffed by police. CNN videotaped the incident.

Police later escorted the pair from NPI to a waiting ambulance while the rest of the protesters continued marching peacefully along Pennsylvania Avenue. ...

"Emily," who referred to the protesters as communists. said she is concerned about the decreasing white population in the United States but less so "now that Donald Trump is president."
So why did "Emily" refer to these cowardly thugs as "communists"? Let's ask one of the antifa, whose Twitter posting on the counter-demonstration has this headline:

Communist author Mike Golash of the Progressive Labor Party speaks out at #StopNPI

Sounds like "Emily" hit the nail on the head. If there's one thing totalitarian communists can't stand, it's dissent.

Hillary and Bill had a screaming match over who to blame for loss

Snicker. From the Daily Mail:

In the waning days of the presidential campaign, Bill and Hillary Clinton had a knock-down, drag-out fight about her effort to blame FBI Director James Comey for her slump in the polls and looming danger of defeat.

'I was with Bill in Little Rock when he had this shouting match with Hillary on the phone and she accused Comey for reviving the investigation into her use of a private email server and reversing her campaign's momentum,' said one of Bill Clinton's closest advisers.

'Bill didn't buy the excuse that Comey would cost Hillary the election,' said the source. 'As far as he was concerned, all the blame belonged to [campaign manager Robby] Mook, [campaign chairman John] Podesta and Hillary because they displayed a tone-deaf attitude about the feeble economy and its impact on millions and millions of working-class voters.
But this video show how poor Bill has coped:

Twitter suspends 'alt-right' accounts

The enforcers of correct thinking at Twitter have spoken: No tweets for you!

In an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation, Spencer — an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump — accused Twitter of censoring alt-right voices in the aftermath of Trump's election.

“This is corporate Stalinism,” he told the Daily Caller. “Twitter is trying to airbrush the Alt Right out of existence.”
Speaking of Stalinism, Twitter's action just tickled totalitarian hearts all over the Internet. Over at the far-left Little Green Footballs, Charles Johnson posted this headline:

A Little Good News: Twitter Shuts Down Major White Supremacist Accounts

To which he added, "Overdue." Take that, free speech!

UNC-Charlotte Students Protest Election

Screen capture from the Charlotte Observer

Since the American people made the wrong choice in the presidential election, we have to "Expect Reststance." After all, these protesters are our intellectual and moral superiors. Why? Because they're COLLEGE STUDENTS. Diverse college students.

Yes, that's a Mexican flag behind the spelling-challenged young man in the foreground. Why bring a Mexican flag to a protest against an American election? Because Mexico has SO MUCH to teach us about democracy.

UMass students hold 'sh*t-in' for gender-neutral bathrooms

Massachusetts is famous for its stand for liberty at Lexington. And Concord. And Bunker Hill. And now -- this:

Students at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst are staging a week-long “sh*t-in,” occupying restrooms in an administration building to demand more gender-neutral facilities.

The “Sh*t-In at Whitmore” demonstration began Monday morning at the Whitmore Administration building (which the activists have nicknamed “Queermore”), and organizers intend to have students continue occupying stalls in the building’s male and female restrooms until their demands are met, though the Facebook event specifies a Friday afternoon ending.
Among their demands, protesters want the university to hire a professor "who is an expert in the field of critical transmisogyny from an intersectional perspective.” Whatever that means.

Unenlightened souls who don't understand why gender-neutral bathrooms are important must read this from the protesters' manifesto:

“There can be no climate justice without gender justice. There can no be gender justice without racial justice. There can no be racial justice without economic justice. There can be no economic justice without social justice.”

Oh, yeah. If the university will only build more gender-neutral bathrooms, it'll rip a hole in the racism/heteronormative continuum, which will spontaneously birth all kinds of justice, especially climate justice. Whales and manatees will prosper and polar bears will no longer get the sads. Makes sense to me.

Is a Muslim set to take over the Democratic National Committee?

Yes, putting Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota in charge of the DNC will bring back disaffected White voters. Those Democrats are marketing geniuses, I tell you!

Commander-In-Chief Donald Trump Will Have Terrifying Powers. Thanks, Obama.

Here's a timely and urgent warning from The Intercept:

When Donald Trump becomes commander in chief in January, he will take on presidential powers that have never been more expansive and unchecked.

He’ll control an unaccountable drone program, and the prison at Guantanamo Bay. His FBI, including a network of 15,000 paid informants, already has a record of spying on mosques and activists, and his NSA’s surveillance empire is ubiquitous and governed by arcane rules, most of which remain secret. He will inherit bombing campaigns in seven Muslim countries, the de facto ability to declare war unilaterally, and a massive nuclear arsenal — much of which is on hair-trigger alert.

Caught off guard by Hillary Clinton’s election defeat, Democrats who defended these powers under President Obama may suddenly be having second thoughts as the White House gets handed over to a man they described — with good reason — as “unhinged,” and “dangerously unfit.”

In the years after the 9/11 terror attacks, Vice President Dick Cheney and his legal adviser David Addington dramatically expanded the powers of the presidency, asserting the unilateral right in wartime to ignore legal limits on things like torture and government eavesdropping. Congressional Democrats generally caved, but made a few efforts to push back.

The Democrats went silent on executive overreach when Obama was elected, however.
In today's political climate, the mainstream left wants more political power to advance "social justice," and the mainstream right wants more power to expand its foreign agenda. "Extremists" (me, for example) object to both.

The End of the Democratic Party?

Huffington Post is a site I don't normally link to, but this is just too good to ignore:

On Thursday, Democratic Party officials held their first staff meeting since Hillary Clinton’s stunning loss to Donald Trump in the presidential race. It didn’t go well.

Donna Brazile, the interim leader of the Democratic National Committee, was giving what one attendee described as “a rip-roaring speech” to about 150 employees, about the need to have hope for wins going forward, when a staffer identified only as Zach stood up with a question.

“Why should we trust you as chair to lead us through this?” he asked, according to two people in the room. “You backed a flawed candidate, and your friend [former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz] plotted through this to support your own gain and yourself.”

Some DNC staffers started to boo and some told him to sit down. Brazile began to answer, but Zach had more to say.

“You are part of the problem,” he continued, blaming Brazile for clearing the path for Trump’s victory by siding with Clinton early on. “You and your friends will die of old age and I’m going to die from climate change. You and your friends let this happen, which is going to cut 40 years off my life expectancy.”

Zach gathered his things and began to walk out. When Brazile called after him, asking where he was going, he told her to go outside and “tell people there” why she should be leading the party.

Oregonians submit ballot proposal to secede

Is it 1860 again? Or is it 1991 in North America? One thing's for sure: We're in a new age. The movement for self-determination in Cascadia is serious:

Two days after Donald Trump was elected president of the United States, two Portlanders have submitted a petition for a 2018 ballot initiative to have Oregon secede from the United States.

On Thursday morning, Jennifer Rollins, a lawyer, and Christian Trejbal, a writer, filed the Oregon Secession Act.

"Oregonian values are no longer the values held by the rest of the United States," Trejbal said over the phone Thursday.
If you doubt how serious this movement is, consider that many secession movements were preceded by protests and riots. Last night, 29 people were arrested in Portland in anti-Trump demonstrations.

Meanwhile, California secession efforts are getting the backing of influential Silicon Valley moguls. The immediate cause is the election of Donald Trump. But there are deeper forces at work as well, as Ian Smith points out:

Harvard evolutionary biologist Joseph Henrich says that nation-states were created in order to harness man’s innate tribal psychology. So, when additional tribal groups are added to a nation, he says, things start to break down.

Predicting the fate of “multinational states,” or states composed of large national groups, is easy considering their frequency; Yugoslavia, the Hapsburg Empire, the Russian Empire (as well as the Soviet Union), and the Ottoman Empire, are just a few examples. Each lacked both cultural unity and a shared historical memory and each were eventually divided up by independence movements.

America’s become a similar “multinational state.” Today, large swathes of the country don’t recognize that America was founded by British people wanting to replicate British culture, that the Founding Fathers were admirable men, and that we’re a nation of settlers, not immigrants.
Of course, none of this is news to longtime readers of this blog. Here's what I wrote back in August:

No doubt the DC Empire is tottering. And Donald Trump's loss could very well drive some states to secede. And with national identity and cohesion all but vanished already due to floodtide immigration, it's unlikely other states will invade to force seceding states back in.

But a more interesting scenario could arise should Trump win. Would California, New Mexico, and Massachusetts want to remain with The Donald in charge? That's a possibility more likely to hasten the peaceable dismantling of this overgrown and outdated empire.
Interesting times. We got 'em.

Tim Kaine Invokes the Confederate Lost Cause

After blubbering about how poor li'l Hillary didn't get her precious, which all enlightened persons know she deserved, Tim Kaine tried to enoble her loss by comparing it to the South's valiant battle for independence. In his concession speech, Kaine referred to the William Faulkner short story "Wash":

When a character comes home from the Civil War in William Faulkner’s 1934 short story “Wash,” the poor white Southerner who lives on his property greets him with optimism. “Well, Kernel,” he says, “they kilt us but they ain’t whupped us yit, air they?”

The reader knows in fact it’s hopeless, but in his concession speech on Wednesday morning, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine employed the quote as a message of hope. Although he and his running mate Hillary Clinton had lost, he said, Democrats aren’t done fighting for what they believe in.
The "Kernel" in this passage refers to Colonel Thomas Sutpen, who was decorated by none other than Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

Sorry, Tim. It's a little late to start admiring Southern heroes. Instead, when the campaign was hot, you stoked racial tensions by telling Black leaders that Whites need to feel what it's like to be in the minority.

Mr. Kaine, I know a great deal about Southern heroes. Robert E. Lee is a hero of mine. Mr. Kaine, you're no Southern hero.

Will California secede with Trump win?

Now isn't this interesting? In the wake of Trump's surprise victory, the most strident calls for secession are coming from the Blue states:

Half of the country might be celebrating Donald Trump's victory, but others are talking about seceding from the United States.

Are they being sore losers or opportunists? For some people in California, and other western states that went blue for Hillary Clinton, the road forward is clear: Cut their losses and make a go of it without the rest of the country.

California secession group to hold meet-up at State Capitol

No matter which candidate wins the presidency, we're going to see more headlines like this:

An organization hoping to facilitate the secession of California from the Union is holding a meet and greet on the Capitol steps in Sacramento next Wednesday, November 9, 2016, or, the day after the presidential election.

The Yes California Independence Campaign, which is based in San Diego, is aiming to qualify a citizen's initiative in 2018 to get a referendum for secession on the ballot in 2019. They'll be in Sacramento to garner support for their initiative.

"In our view," a statement on its website reads, "the United States of America represents so many things that conflict with Californian values, and our continued statehood means California will continue subsidizing the other states to our own detriment, and to the detriment of our children."
The left-leaning states don't like having to accommodate the conservative states, and vice-versa. Meanwhile, American identity has been so diluted by endless waves of immigration that it's impossible to define what it means to be "American." All that's left is the machinery of government. Obedience to DC's regulatory bureaucracy is all there is to American loyalty. Who wants to die defending that?

Feds Order Law Enforcement Agencies to Ignore Drug Use, Criminal Records to Hire Minorities

In the name of holy diversity, the Obama regime wants to force local police forces to accept felons. No, really:

In a push to hire minority police officers, the Obama administration is asking the nation’s 18,000 law enforcement agencies to forgive drug use, disregard the criminal records of candidates from “underrepresented communities” and lower standards on written and physical exams. It’s part of the administration’s Advancing Diversity in Law Enforcement initiative following a string of officer-involved shootings involving African Americans. Key to the mission is the racial diversification of local law enforcement agencies so that they “better reflect the diversity of the communities they serve.”
The Civil Rights Revolution has always been about lowering quality. First, IQ tests had to go, as mandated in Griggs vs. Duke Power. And, as the Judicial Watch report notes, the same warped reasoning has to be applied to hiring convicted felons as police officers. Obama's Task Force on 21st Century Policing explicitly states that “an employer’s use of criminal background information can violate either the intentional or disparate impact provisions of Title VII, depending on how that information is used.”

It's bad enough that every local police force will have to adjust its hiring quotas every time another boatload of Haitians or Syrians or Somalis comes ashore so the force reflects the community's shifting population, but they'll have to accept felons. Diversity trumps tradition, logic, and plain common sense.

This is insanity.

Pentagon Seeks Another $6 Billion for Overseas Troop Deployments

DC eyes the wretched peoples of the Middle East, considers the human misery and bloodshed it's imposed there, and thinks, "Why can't we do more?"

Besides, the burden of debt DC has imposed on us is only $19.8 trillion. What's a few billion more?

Sweden on the brink?

Open your borders to the Third World, and you'll create a fairy land of dynamic diversity, where all who immigrate will settle down and become productive citizens, strengthening democracy.

Or so the theory goes. Sweden is grappling with what REALLY happens when the government imports an alien population:

The Scandinavian country is facing an existential crisis with on average three police officers handing in their resignations a day.

If the alarming trend continues, and police officers continue to resign more than 1,000 officers will have quit the service by New Years.

Since the migrant crisis began last summer, Sweden has been hit by a series of brutal crimes and violent incidents.

In 2015 alone Sweden, with a population of 9.5million, received over 160,000 asylum applications and the country is expected to take as many as 190,000 refugees, or two per cent of the population, by the end of 2016.
Who can blame the Swedish police? I talked to a Charlotte policeman a month after the Black Lives Matter protests lootfest in September. He swore he was retiring. "I figure I'll just let these folks settle their differences by themselves." He told me dozens of other officers planned to do the same.

This isn't just a Swedish problem; it's a problem for the entire West. If we don't locate our pride and backbones soon, we'll find ourselves occupied by a hostile, alien force.

Democracy in America?

The emails WikiLeaks just released include some revealing inside information about how the ruling elite sees itself and the people it feeds upon. Even more interesting, when it thinks no one can hear them, the ruling elite brags about how it looks out for itself. From the Guardian:

Then there is the apparent nepotism, the dozens if not hundreds of mundane emails in which petitioners for this or that plum Washington job or high-profile academic appointment politely appeal to Podesta – the ward-heeler of the meritocratic elite – for a solicitous word whispered in the ear of a powerful crony.

This genre of Podesta email, in which people try to arrange jobs for themselves or their kids, points us toward the most fundamental thing we know about the people at the top of this class: their loyalty to one another and the way it overrides everything else. Of course Hillary Clinton staffed her state department with investment bankers and then did speaking engagements for investment banks as soon as she was done at the state department. Of course she appears to think that any kind of bank reform should “come from the industry itself”. And of course no elite bankers were ever prosecuted by the Obama administration.
Welcome to Reality 101.

Carville Claims FBI, GOP, and KGB in Cahoots

I always knew James Carville was as crazy as a snapping turtle, but now even true-blue Democrats can see it:

In an appearance on MSNBC on Monday, Carville relentlessly — and repeatedly — attacked the FBI’s decision to reopen the investigation, asserting it is part of a conspiracy to subvert American democracy.

“This is in effect an attempt to hijack an election,” Carville claimed. “It’s unprecedented … the House Republicans and the KGB are trying to influence our democracy,” he said.
Yes, Jimmy, the FBI, the KGB, and the House Republicans have teamed up with the Klan, the Masons, and the Illuminati to destroy our democracy and impurify our precious bodily fluids. Sheesh.

Democrats should ask Clinton to step aside

That's not my title. It comes from a remarkable op-ed from, of all places, the Chicago Tribune. Note that this piece IS NOT an endorsement of Donald Trump, whom it dismisses as a "vulgarian" at the gates of the political establishment. Rather, it concludes that "the American political system is breaking down," and that the worst thing Democrats could do to the country is to allow a serial liar to get her hands on the keys to power:

As secretary of state she kept classified documents on the home-brew server in her basement, which is against the law. She lied about it to the American people. She couldn't remember details dozens of times when questioned by the FBI. Her aides destroyed evidence by BleachBit and hammers. Her husband, Bill, met secretly on an airport tarmac with Attorney General Loretta Lynch for about a half-hour, and all they said they talked about was golf and the grandkids. ...

And there was no prosecution of Hillary.

That isn't merely wrong and unethical. It is poisonous.

And during this presidential campaign, Americans were confronted with a two-tiered system of federal justice: one for standards for the Clintons and one for the peasants.

I've always figured that, as secretary of state, Clinton kept her home-brew email server — from which foreign intelligence agencies could hack top secret information — so she could shield the influence peddling that helped make the Clintons several fortunes.

The Clintons weren't skilled merchants. They weren't traders or manufacturers. The Clintons never produced anything tangible. They had no science, patents or devices to make them millions upon millions of dollars.

All they had to sell, really, was influence. And they used our federal government to leverage it.
That's a damning indictment. And that's from a card-carrying member of the establishment news media. From the right, here's John Derbyshire:

In the most recent American National Election Studies survey, only 19 percent of Americans agreed with the idea that the government, “is run for the benefit of all the people.” [The True and Only Lasch: On The True and Only Heaven, 25 Years Later, Fall 2016]

McWilliams adds a footnote to that: The 19 percent figure is from 2012, she says. Then she tells us that in 1964, 64 percent of Americans agreed with the same statement.
So the ruling establishment no longer enjoys the consent of its subject people. A regime no longer regarded as legitimate is a regime whose time has run out. No matter which candidate wins the White House, the oligarchy is doomed, and it knows it.

Tick, tock ...

No White People Voting

The above graphic is supposed to be a warning about those eeeeevil Whites. Yes, it's true -- if America's founding demographic had its way, an antiwar Republican would win, and the Democratic, pro-war candidate would lose. Sends shivers down your spine just thinking about it, doesn't it?

Fortunately, we have masochistic Methodists ready to betray their own people:

The best news about our country’s future is that white people are losing our power. As people of color take over, many things will change about our political discourse. All the propaganda about big government creating a culture of dependency only makes sense in the very specific cultural context of “self-reliant” white middle-class people defining themselves moralistically against “lazy” working class people of color. Who knows? When white people lose enough power, we might even be able to have a sane health care system where big government is no longer a reliable bogeyman. What will “morality” mean when North Carolina NAACP president William Barber gets to define it instead of religious right culture warrior James Dobson? Things are going to be so different!

I don’t know how many white people will need to die off before we can have a functioning democracy again. But we’re on a good trajectory as long as people of color keep having babies and refusing to accept our injustice.
Got that? If enough Whites die, we could have a "functioning democracy again," and all peoples could enjoy the standard of living and liberty of majority-minority countries such as Haiti, Zimbabwe, Brazil, and Syria. Yeah. So -- would it be a noble act to nudge a few hundreds of thousands of American Whites into oblivion? If not, why not?

A Beginner’s Guide to Death Throes

The inimitable Fred Reed once again calls 'em as he sees 'em, and what he sees is a little unnerving:

To judge by the rapid drift of events aboard our planetary asylum, the talons of Washington and New York on the world’s throat are fast being pried a-loose. The Global American Imperium is dying. Or so it sure looks anyway.

I say talons of “New York and Washington” because of America’s foreign policy, forged in those two cities, belongs entirely to them. Americans have no influence on it. Further, none of what the Empire does abroad is of any benefit to Americans. Do you care at all what happens in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, or the South China Sea? Do you want to pay for it? America has been hijacked.
No doubt DC is the world's prime source of turmoil, bloodshed, and mayhem, and as evidenced by Philippines President Duterte's bristling responses to DC's continued occupation of his country, he and many others around the world have had enough. The DC Empire is crumbling, as all empires eventually do. Sooner or later, the subjugated find their backbones and revolt. The bad news is that those whose fat fingers operate the controls of the machinery of power might do something cosmically stupid to hold on to that power. But maybe we'll get lucky.

Clinton policy on Syria would lead to World War Three

As I've stressed before, BOTH presidential candidates scare me. But Hillary is looking scarier all the time. And this exclusive from Reuters reveals just how bad things could get under Hillary:

U.S. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Democrat Hillary Clinton's plan for Syria would "lead to World War Three," because of the potential for conflict with military forces from nuclear-armed Russia.

In an interview focused largely on foreign policy, Trump said defeating Islamic State is a higher priority than persuading Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down, playing down a long-held goal of U.S. policy.

Trump questioned how Clinton would negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin after demonizing him; blamed President Barack Obama for a downturn in U.S. relations with the Philippines under its new president, Rodrigo Duterte; bemoaned a lack of Republican unity behind his candidacy, and said he would easily win the election if the party leaders would support him.
On a more positive note, Trump has voiced opposition to DC's endless interventionism, particularly the mad quest to impose democracy on nations with no cultural foundation for American-style democracy. And then there's the growing sentiment, as enunciated by Thomas Sowell, that as risky as a Trump presidency might be, Hillary at the helm would be almost certain disaster.

Disenfranchisement of Poor Whites Under Hillary

Ilana Mercer points out the Trojan Horse in Hillary Clinton's radical immigration scheme:

The present ideology on immigration considers all whites, rich or poor, a privileged, “fungible monolith.” This outlook brooks little or no consideration of lives lived in penury for over a century. In particular: It overlooks the descendants of poor white Southern sharecroppers who did not own slaves, but were devastated by the War Between the States both “in human and economic terms.” Even now, this sizeable segment of the South has yet to recover; its attainments with respect to education and income mirror those of the region’s African-Americans, with one distinction: poor whites are barred from affirmative action programs.
Of course, we can't blame the entire massive rip-off on HRC; George W. Bush's 2007 Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act almost squeaked through, thanks to strong-arming from Band of Traitors members Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and Ted Kennedy. As we've noted in previous posts, screwing Traditional America is a bipartisan game.

Quote of the Year

"Voting for an out of control egomaniac like Donald Trump would be like playing Russian roulette with the future of this country. Voting for someone with a track record like Hillary Clinton’s is like putting a shotgun to your head and pulling the trigger." - Thomas Sowell

Lesson from Charlotte: Rioting Pays!

$4.6 million. That's the immediate cost of last month's riots in Charlotte. But that's just the beginning. While the cleanup and repairs were just getting started, the usual suspects began spinning the violence for political ends. One Charlotte councilman, Ed Driggs, informed the city council that the "unrest" was caused by "racial inequality in housing, jobs and other social areas," and that the riots were a “cry of despair.”

Charlotte rioters despairing

The Charlotte Observer's editorial staff took the opportunity to issue an "We told you so!" proclamation:

But we already know the broad outlines of what must be done. We’ve been talking about it for decades.

We need to counter the isolation and marginalization of the poor, including the working poor, by mixing more affordable housing throughout the city, suburban areas included.

We need to counter the resegregation of schools, either with redrawn school boundary lines or new magnet schools or some combination. We need to connect people in the struggling neighborhoods west, north and east of uptown with good jobs and new hope. ...

Making headway against deep-rooted inequities is never easy, as civil rights lawyer James Ferguson said Tuesday evening during a WFAE-FM panel discussion on the unrest.

“We have to work for it, with intentionality,” he said.

Some will resist. They will ask why their families should sacrifice to help solve the problems of others. It’s not an unreasonable question.

But, as we learned so painfully in recent weeks, the problems across town eventually become everyone’s problems.
All the "social justice" lobbying groups heard a loud and clear "ka-ching!"

This week, Charlotte picked Marcus D. Jones as its new city manager. Kim Eagle, the city’s director of strategy and budget, had been a favored candidate, but she's White. As the Observer put it, "Jones will be the city’s first African-American manager. His hiring comes at a crucial time for Charlotte, which saw days of civil unrest after the Sept. 20 police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott."

The political and monetary rewards from the Charlotte riots will flow down like water for years. Destroying police cruisers and terrorizing motorists is a lot more fun than lobbying your city council, and it pays better, too.

Nationalists and Populists Poised to Dominate European Balloting

Despite the shrill voices of Soros, Merkel, and their leftist flying monkeys screaming that resistance to globalism is futile, patriotism has come roaring back in Europe:

As Europeans assess the fallout from the U.K.’s Brexit referendum, they face a series of elections that could equally shake the political establishment. In the coming 12 months, four of Europe’s five largest economies have votes that will almost certainly mean serious gains for right-wing populists and nationalists. Once seen as fringe groups, France’s National Front, Italy’s Five Star Movement, and the Freedom Party in the Netherlands have attracted legions of followers by tapping discontent over immigration, terrorism, and feeble economic performance. “The Netherlands should again become a country of and for the Dutch people,” says Evert Davelaar, a Freedom Party backer who says immigrants don’t share “Western and Christian values.”

Even Europe’s most powerful politician, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is under assault. The anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has drained support from Mrs Merkel’s Christian Democrats in recent state and local elections, capitalizing on discontent over Germany’s refugee crisis.
Now if only we can find a sane and sober spokesman for nationalism here.
