Oh, they mean beasts such as aurochs. When I first saw the headline, I thought it meant scientists had found a way to bring back conservative Democrats.
Despite my reservations about Donald Trump as president, one solid benefit of his win is that immigration control is now an open topic for discussion. For decades, all immigration was touted as an unqualified good. Now that the gulp! New York Times is featuring an immigration control article, the topic has clearly emerged from the shadows:
Yet many powerful industries benefit from such immigration. They’re arguing that immigration controls are creating a low-skilled labor shortage. These same industries contend that stricter immigration enforcement will further shrink the pool of workers and raise their wages. They argue that closing our borders to inexpensive foreign labor will force employers to add benefits and improve workplace conditions to attract and keep workers already here. I have an answer to these charges: Exactly. Higher wages, better benefits and more security for American workers are features, not bugs, of sound immigration reform. For too long, our immigration policy has skewed toward the interests of the wealthy and powerful: Employers get cheaper labor, and professionals get cheaper personal services like housekeeping. We now need an immigration policy that focuses less on the most powerful and more on everyone else.I remember when the Occupy movement hit the streets protesting income inequality. And they had a point -- the system is indeed rigged to favor the top 2%. But one of the things those protesters failed to grasp is that the chief reason the middle class has been slipping is the elite's support for open borders and the cheap, exploitable labor that policy guarantees. Cesar Chavez, an icon of the left, militantly advocated for tight immigration controls because the agribusiness owners he confronted wanted the borders open so they could keep wages and benefits low. But the days when leftists stand up for "workers" have vanished. Even those on the left who understand the impact of uncontrolled immigration on wages don't care; they're so full of hate for whites they can't wait for American demographics to shift toward a brown majority and the utopia they imagine that will herald.

Terror cells, for one thing. And that's not coming from the usual immigration restriction activists, but from a federal judge and a team of federal prosecutors in Minneapolis:
In sentencing nine young Somali-Minnesotans on terror conspiracy charges this week, U.S. District Judge Michael Davis closed a chapter in the federal government’s long, extraordinary investigation of ISIL recruitment in Minnesota. “Everyone talks about Brussels or Paris having cells,” Davis said one day, then, raising his voice: “We have a cell here in Minneapolis.” Saying the Minnesota public had “danced around” the issue, Davis described the cell’s size as being between nine to 20, including those sentenced last week and others killed abroad. Federal prosecutors seemed to share Davis’ conviction. In an unusual development on Wednesday, they asked that two defendants, Mohamed Farah and Abdirahman Daud, be returned to the courtroom after their hearings were finished. Prosecutors said both men flashed index fingers pointed upward as they faced the gallery on their way out, an apparent symbol of “tawhid” that symbolizes an Islamic concept of “oneness of God” but is also a popular symbol used by ISIL supporters.Muslim immigration -- the gift that keeps on giving, whether you want it or not.

Sad news from Britain. Author Richard Adams has died:
The author of Watership Down, Richard Adams, has died aged 96, his daughter has said. Juliet Johnson said her father had been "ailing for some time" but "died peacefully" on Christmas Eve. Watership Down, a children's classic about a group of rabbits in search of a new home after their warren was destroyed, was first published in 1972. Adams was 52 when he wrote it, after first telling the story to his two daughters on a long car journey. It went on to become a best-seller, with tens of millions of copies bought around the world.Adams felt a special connection with animals. His classic tale Traveller, about General Robert E. Lee's horse, is one that should be in every Southern home. From Richard Adams' official web site:
Traveller, the war-horse of the great Confederate general Robert E. Lee is dreaming away his last months in a stable in retirement. Old and almost blind, his last remaining animal friend, Tom Cat, is his sole audience as he reminisces about the days of fear, courage, blood and horror in the camps and battlefields of the Civil War. Traveller describes the scenes of the war as a horse would sense them, and tries to draw out the dimly-understood threads of his beloved master's struggles against their deadly enemy - the Blue men.
"All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide. To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian revolution, that was a good thing indeed." George Ciccariello-Maher, professor of history and politics at Drexel University. There's something about these folks with double-barrelled names ...

Wednesday we noted how the world-wide reawakening of deep-rooted, historical identity is manifesting itself in India. This article from the Economist discusses how the ostensible communist regime in China has evolved from internationalism to an energetic nationalism based on ethnic pride:
Ethnicity is central to China’s national identity. It is the Han, 1.2bn of them in mainland China alone, that most people refer to as “Chinese”, rather than the country’s minorities, numbering 110m people. Ethnicity and nationality have become almost interchangeable for China’s Han, says James Leibold of La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. That conflation is of fundamental importance. It defines the relations between the Han and other ethnic groups. By narrowing its legal labour market almost entirely to people of Han descent, ethnicity is shaping the country’s economy and development. And it strains foreign relations, too. Even ethnic Han whose families left for other countries generations ago are often regarded as part of a coherent national group, both by China’s government and people.Abstract, vapory slogans cannot inspire meaning and identity in the human soul. The crusade to erase historical identity and replace it with appeals to "tolerance" and "multiculturalism" has turned shrill and overbearing because it has no natural, innate appeal. Nationalism, however, most definitely does. That's why leftist movements resort to authoritarian government and intimidation; nothing else can implement their anti-human agenda. A world of voluntary, small city-states and region-states will be more free, more prosperous, and more peaceful. I say, bring it on.
The paradigm of the unified, coercive megastate dominated most of the 19th and 20th centuries. But you know what? That bloody and inhuman age has passed. The latest manifestation of the new age of smaller, human-scaled political units comes from the Bear Republic, aka California. The Golden State is asserting its right to self-government rather theatrically:
If California voters ever decide to secede from the United States, they could have at least one partner on the international stage: Russia. The Yes California Independence Campaign – which is leading an effort to bring a secession initiative to the 2019 ballot – opened what the group called a cultural center and “people’s embassy” in Moscow this week. The San Diego-based group first launched the initiative following Donald Trump’s resounding election night victory and garnered support from Silicon Valley investor Shervin Pishevar, who says the world’s sixth-largest economy would have no trouble competing as an independent state on the global stage. That sound you here is George Soros gnashing his false teeth.

In the wake of the Christmas massacre in Berlin, this warning about new ISIS-led attacks on Western civilians demands quick action. Never fear! Your guardians in DC know exactly what to do, as this USA Today headline shows: U.S. surpasses Syrian refugee goal set by Obama, expects more next year See? Nothing to worry about.
Chilling headline, huh? Yes, last month, an arsonist struck a black church in Greenville, Mississippi. The Southern Poverty Law Center wasn't there, but they claimed to have a magic way of knowing who was responsible, and why they did it: Trump supporters wanted to oppress black people, and keep them from voting for Hillary Clinton! After all, everyone knows the best way to score votes for your candidate is to burn a church. Besides, Trump supporters always sign their work, right? There couldn't be any doubt that it was voter intimidation. From Hatewatch:
Fire fighters arrived to find Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church “heavily engulfed in flames” with the words “Vote Trump” spray-painted on the side of the building, according to Mayor Errick Simmons, who spoke at a press conference Wednesday morning. “This kind of attack happened in the 1950s, and 1960s, but it shouldn’t happen in 2016,” Simmons said. “Last night’s attack appears to be a race crime: the church has always been a symbol of the black community and a place for communication around civil rights, the same rights black communities were deprived.”The moral and intellectual aristocracy who broadcast their indignation and morality in the Hatewatch comments section was quick to add its two cents' worth. A sampling:
Mary • 2 months ago Stay strong, Greenville. Please don't let this stop you from voting. Reporter Aron Pax • 2 months ago Given that the Ku Klux Klan has endorsed Trump and that the Klan has a history of burning black churches and terrorizing the community, isn't it just possible that this arson is exactly what it appears to be? The "dumbest racist" Klansman also knows that his endorsement hurts Trump, but that doesn't keep him from doing it.And so on. But that was then. Authorities have finally arrested the perp. It's a black man who's also a member of the congregation. Doh! I'm sure the SPLC will send a formal apology to President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters. Any second now ... wait for it ...

Yes, you read that correctly; there is a growing movement of patriotic Indians who call themselves Hindu cowboys. But instead of branding, herding, and driving their cows to market, these men see themselves as gau rakshaks, or cow protectors. These sacred cows have some VERY dedicated protectors:
The cowboy believes, most of all, in holy war against everyone whose culture approves the killing of the blessed bovine – Muslims, Christians, Hindu outcastes. The cow is for him a symbol not just of Hinduism, but of India itself. He believes the time has come to cleanse the country of cow-eaters. As the motto of India’s fiercest band of cowboys puts it, ‘To protect our culture and our civilization, we must do as the Vedas say. And the Vedas tell us this – if an infidel kills a cow, we are to pump his body with bullets.’This is just another instance of the popular backlash against the anonymity, rootlessness, and dead conformity of globalism. Take that, George Soros.

Here we go again. This time, a terrorist from Pakistan plowed into a Christmas celebration in Berlin:
Nine people are dead and about 50 injured after a truck rammed into a crowd in Kurfürstendamm when the lorry careened through the stalls. Officials said the truck's passenger died at the scene while a suspect, possibly the driver, was taken into custody.I couldn't help but curse when I saw this: German chancellor Angela Merkel is "in deep grief over the dead and hope the injured can be saved." Hey, Frau Merkel, do you have any concern about those who haven't yet fallen victim to the terrorists you've brought into Germany? This woman needs to be impeached and then tried for aiding and abetting terror.
The radical city ordinance that sparked the HB2 bill is no more. From the Charlotte Observer:
A Charlotte City Council Monday voted Monday to repeal its controversial non-discrimination ordinance, commonly known as the ‘bathroom’ ordinance. The council met earlier in the morning with with Charlotte area lawmakers. The ordinance was pushed through the council in early 2016, just months into Mayor Jennifer Roberts’ tenure, and required businesses to allow people to use the bathroom corresponding to their gender identity. In response, Republicans in the North Carolina General Assembly convened a one-day special session to pass its own legislation that rendered Charlotte’s ordinance null. The original ordinance had nothing to do with protecting anyone's rights; it was instead a thrust for Cultural Marxism and against traditional society. There wasn't any crisis of "trannies" being victimized that the ordinance addressed. In fact, these people have EVERY right anyone else possesses. What the ordinance did was to give certain people the power to bulldoze social norms. That is NOT a legitimate right. I wish I could say this was the end of the battle, but I doubt it.

Don't hate the latest Star Wars movie because it's anti-White. Hate it because it's bad and boring:
“Star Wars” movies have been dazzling, infuriating, heartbreaking, silly, witty, convoluted, gripping and overblown. But until “Rogue One: A Star Wars” story, I don’t think “dull” was the most appropriate adjective. “Dull” is a vague word, so let’s break it down: hackneyed, repetitive, unsurprising, under-characterized. This tale, placed chronologically between episodes three and four, has no reason to exist. We know the rebels will get plans that let them destroy the Death Star in “A New Hope.” Who cares how they did it, when the storytelling is so pedestrian? This scathing review, by the way, is from the Charlotte Observer's Lawrence Toppman, who I can assure you is NOT an alt-right reviewer.

Uh-oh. Another Democrat's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar:
Former U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, the 11-term Pennsylvania congressman and longtime advocate for more gun regulation, was sentenced Monday on a host of bribery charges. U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III sentenced Fattah, 60, this week following conviction in June on racketeering, bribery, wire fraud, honest services fraud and money laundering conspiracies. Bartle handed down a sentence of 120 months in prison and ordered the former lawmaker to pay some $600,000 in restitution. Born Arthur Davenport in Philadelphia, his mother changed his name to Chaka Fattah to acknowledge their African ethnicity when he was a child. Fattah, a Democrat, was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the West Philly area in 1983 and left the state legislature in 1994 when he defeated U.S. Rep. Lucien Edward Blackwell for Pennsylvania’s 2nd district, a seat he held for 22 years until he resigned following his conviction.Remember, money doesn't break racketeering laws, greedy politicians break racketeering laws.
This would be funny if it wasn't so creepy. Leftist professors are finding themselves increasingly threatened by the lunatic radicalism of the very students they helped radicalize:
I teach at Reed. I am intimidated by these students. I am scared to teach courses on race, gender, or sexuality, or even texts that bring these issues up in any way—and I am a gay mixed-race woman. There is a serious problem here and at other [selective liberal arts colleges], and I'm at a loss as to how to begin to address it, especially since many of these students don't believe in either historicity or objective facts. (They denounce the latter as being a tool of the white cisheteropatriarchy.)I predict these bratty social justice warriors will burn themselves out the same way their role models in the Chinese Cultural Revolution did. In the meantime, we should sit back and enjoy the spectacle of the children of the Revolution devouring their parents.
Friends of Hillary, Bill, and Barack are busy at work trying to destroy "our democracy" by refusing to abide by the results of the election. Hillary said that for Trump to do that would be a threat, but it seems that it's no threat if she does it. Double Standard??? A hard-hitting post by Al Benson, Jr.

Green Party loon Jill Stein knew something was wrong with the presidential election count in Michigan, but the problem wasn't what she thought:
Green Party nominee Jill Stein’s presidential vote recount in Michigan may have turned up massive voter irregularities — in the Democratic stronghold of Detroit. Now it’s Republican leaders who are demanding an investigation to determine why a third of the city’s voting machines registered more ballots than actual voters, the Detroit News reported. Ruth Johnson, the Republican secretary of state, is launching an audit. Republican state Sen. Patrick Colbeck called the probe a good start on the suspicious results turned up in Detroit, which Hillary Clinton won with 95 percent of the vote.Too funny!
Paul Moreno teaches constitutional history at Hillsdale College. His ideas on how California could break away from the DC Empire are worth serious consideration. From Fox:
Why couldn’t we cede California back for, say, $415 million (what $15 million in 1848 dollars is worth today)? Maybe that’s what candidate Trump and Mexican President Nieto were talking about last summer. The proceeds would pay for the border wall after all. San Francisco wouldn’t need to be a “sanctuary city” for Mexican illegals, it would be part of Mexico again. While easier than “unanimous consent,” retrocession would be difficult if it required an old-fashioned treaty and ratification by two-thirds of the Senate. While President Obama would feel free to retrocede by “executive agreement” with his “pen and phone,” President-elect Trump would have proper constitutional scruples.Dr. Moreno also argues California could reclaim its independence if the other States agree. No objection from me.

The good news is that Miss Sloane is the latest lefty flick to crash and burn at theaters. The better news is that it's not the only one:
The film, which premiered in select cities on Thanksgiving, hit more theaters this past weekend, and it fizzled in its wide expansion, earning $1.9 million from 1,648 locations. According to Deadline, “Miss Sloane” cost $13 million to produce. It currently has a score of 69 percent on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.Add this stinker to two other notable Hollywood failures this year: The Free State of Jones, which cost $50 million and earned only $25 million; and the repulsive Birth of a Nation, which is projected to cost Fox a hefty $10 million. Serves 'em right! Hey, Hollywood, how about some pro-Southern, conservative movies? You know, the kind REAL people want to see.

The city of Dallas, Texas, is losing its most experienced police officers:
Nearly 100 officers in the Dallas Police Department have quit or retired since October, according to multiple reports, worsening the department’s deficit of personnel. CBS 11 reported that most of the 99 who left since Oct. 1 were some of Dallas’ most experienced officers, according to the incoming president of the Dallas Police Association. ... The Morning News reported the department has a rising crime rate on top of troubled pension funds and low salaries compared to other cities. It isn't too difficult to guess why this is happening. The summer saw a rash of attacks on police officers. In fact, Dallas was where one self-appointed judge and executioner acted on the fiery rhetoric from Black Lives Matter and killed 5 Dallas police officers. At a neighborhood party last month, a veteran officer who lives nearby told me he was getting out. He'd faced down the rioters in September, which was just the icing on the cake for him. He already felt worn down by the hysterical, in-your-face attitude of the people on his beat. He said, "Let them handle their problems themselves." Who can blame him? When Dallas, Charlotte, and other cities start to look more like Chicago, then the BLM loonies can congratulate themselves for freeing their people of oppression by White cops. Yeah. Good job.

China doesn't need to go to war with America, not when American students are gutting the country from within, as these multicult thugs at UPenn did:
Students at the University of Pennsylvania removed a portrait of Shakespeare from a prominent location in the school’s English department after complaining that he did not represent a diverse range of writers. In fact, the chair of the department confirmed in a statement that the portrait was stripped from the wall by his students as “a way of affirming their commitment to a more inclusive mission for the English department,” The Daily Pennsylvanian reports. As if it wasn't bad enough these SJWs had to vandalize a portrait of one of the greatest geniuses of world literature, they replaced him with a third-rate lesbian writer. But then, SJWs scream that merit is a tool of white supremacy. Now you know.

Geert Wilders has a doozy for you:
The party of populist anti-Islam Dutch MP Geert Wilders has risen strongly in the polls since the lawmaker was tried and convicted of discrimination, according to a survey published Sunday. If legislative elections due next March were held this week, Wilders' Freedom Party (PVV) would pick up 36 out of 150 seats in the lower house of parliament, making it the biggest single political group, it found. Before the trial began on October 31, the PVV was credited with 27 seats. While this show trial was proceeding, I was impressed and heartened by Mr. Wilders' courage. He did not apologize for voicing the facts of uncontrolled immigration into his country. He did not issue a mealy mouthed release claiming his comments were taken out of context. No, instead he stuck to his guns. And the Dutch people -- the REAL Dutch people -- rewarded him. It is my hope we will one day have such a brave and authentic defender of traditional America.

Another call for California secession, this time from Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA):
"Rational people, not the fringe, are now talking about whether states could be separated from the U.S., whether we should have a Constitutional Convention. And I think as time goes on that is apt to become more the case unless we here can figure an answer to preventing the majority from being ruled by the minority."I'm so old, I can remember when advocating secession was purely fringe. The old "golden rule" of American politics may be proven true once again: "As California Goes, So Goes the Country." We'll see.
With yet another of its trademark shocking titles: “Ten Days After: Harassment and Intimidation in the Aftermath of the Election," the Southern Poverty Law Center put its special spin on a survey of teachers to give the impression Trump's election inspired budding White racists in grade school to bully their minority school mates. Of course, we've come to expect the SPLC to fan the flames of racial discord to keep frightened liberals to continue sending donations to the SPLC's bulging treasury. But this time, they got caught: Seems they, um, overlooked a question about anti-White incidents, as this report from the New York Post reveals:
Bokenkamp did not provide an explanation for the absence of such a substantial metric — at least 2,000 bias-related incidents against white students — from the report, which focuses instead on “anti-immigrant sentiment,” “anti-Muslim sentiment” and “slurs about students of color” related to the election. “They left that result out because it would not fit their ideological narrative,” former Education Department civil rights attorney Hans Bader said. “It was deemed an inconvenient truth.” Founded in 1971, SPLC claims to be a nonpartisan civil rights law firm. But it receives funding from leftist groups, including ones controlled by billionaire George Soros. And a review of Federal Election Commission records reveals that its board members have contributed more than $13,400 to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns. You want hateful bias? Look no further than the anti-White, anti-Christian SPLC.

General William T. Sherman, whose relentless war on Southern civilians, and his "final solution of the Indian problem,” set the stage for the DC Empire's brutality against Filipinos, Japanese, and Vietnamese.
I don't usually read the Carlos Slim Blog, which claims to publish all the news that's fit, but actually publishes leftist and pro-establishment propaganda. But this piece on how blue islands in a sea of red are re-asserting their power in defiance of the coming Trump administration caught my attention. Jeffrey Rosen sees renewed interest in States' Rights, the interpretation of the Constitution long advocated by conservatives:
IN the wake of the presidential election, as Democrats realized that Republicans will soon control all three branches of the federal government, progressives disinclined to secede from the Union rediscovered another exit strategy: states’ rights. ... Since the 1930s, progressives have unapologetically embraced Hamiltonian big government. But in rediscovering the virtues of Jeffersonian small government, Democrats and liberals are returning to a tradition of “progressive federalism” that they favored before the New Deal and the Great Society — and that they began to revive during the second Bush administration. Jefferson viewed American history as a clash between centralization and decentralization, between monopolistic financiers and agrarian producers. Jefferson proposed a constitutional amendment that would have prohibited Congress from chartering corporate monopolies and opposed Hamilton’s Bank of the United States because the claim that Congress had “implied powers” to charter corporations would clash with the 10th Amendment, which protects states’ rights. As I've noted previously (see here and here), leftist states and cities will tend to go their own way, paving the way to the ultimate devolution of the DC Empire into numerous, human-scaled, more peaceful units. Let a thousand flowers bloom.
In Italy, the referendum to centralize greater power in Rome was soundly defeated, dealing what may be a knockout blow to the already wounded European Union. By 59.1% to 40.9%, Italians rejected the measure, which aimed to prop up and expand the EU and its program of open borders and unlimited immigration. The nationalist revolt continues to surge.

Uh-oh. Looks like we have some fault lines in the multicultural paradise that's taking the place of the historic USA. The Anti-Defamation League sternly tsk-tsks Rep. Keith Ellison's latest statement on Israel. Ellison, who is Muslim, is a contender to take over the Democratic Party. He favors (surprise!) a less Israel-centric US foreign policy:
“The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of 7 million people. A region of 350 million all turns on a country of 7 million. Does that make sense? Is that logic? Right? When the Americans who trace their roots back to those 350 million get involved, everything changes.”And here's the ADL's response:
Rep. Ellison’s remarks are both deeply disturbing and disqualifying. His words imply that U.S. foreign policy is based on religiously or national origin-based special interests rather than simply on America’s best interests. Additionally, whether intentional or not, his words raise the specter of age-old stereotypes about Jewish control of our government, a poisonous myth that may persist in parts of the world where intolerance thrives, but that has no place in open societies like the U.S.American is quickly becoming the arena for all the world's conflicts. Jews vs. Blacks. Blacks vs. Latinos. Turks vs. Armenians. Haitians vs. American Blacks. And more combustible mixtures are forming under our noses. Yes, the US is gonna be a fun place in the next few decades.

Delicate Brooklynites realize the "other America" won the election, and they can't handle it. Brace yourself for some metrosexual trauma:
Three days after the election, my wife and I were shopping at the Fairway Market in Red Hook, Brooklyn. For those unfamiliar with it, Fairway is a less corporate, more co-op version of Whole Foods, offering pretty produce and exotic cheeses that don’t come cheap. The mood in the store was glum. As in most of Brooklyn, people stared ahead, moving slowly, still in shock from the political earthquake of Tuesday night. After getting our Brazilian Arabica ground for drip (I know, I should really use a French Press), Libby and I walked towards the organic maple syrup. That’s when it started. I suppose there had been music playing in the store, but I hadn’t noticed until a familiar guitar lick pierced the air and a soft voice said, “Turn it up.” Libby and I both stopped and looked at each other. “Seriously?” said my wife, a very disappointed Clinton supporter. She started gripping her soft Tomme Crayeuse a little too hard. By the time Ronnie Van Zant’s drawl started in with “Big wheels keep on turnin’,” everyone in the store was standing in shock. Brows were furrowed, people mumbled to each other. The song seemed to get louder as one of those New York moments happened, when everyone was thinking the exact the same thing. A woman in her fifties, wearing a Love Trump Hates button, turned to her Brooklyn-bearded husband and said loudly, “This is unbelievable!” She found the nearest store clerk, a young woman in a green apron who was staring up at the ceiling, looking for the invisible speakers blaring this message from the other America. “This is so inappropriate,” the woman said. “Can we turn this off?”Wow. And we let these people win The War?
