GOP nears the breaking point

It looks like the Republican Party is tottering toward self-destruction. From The Hill:

The presidential primary has been a wrenching experience for the GOP so far — and it’s about to get even worse.

Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich have all backed away from their pledge to support the party's eventual nominee, foreshadowing a fight at the convention and beyond that could cleave the GOP into warring factions.

"This race is kind of at its boiling point," said Matt Mackowiak, a GOP strategist and contributor to The Hill. "As ugly as it is now, the two losing candidates at the convention are going to feel even worse."

Instead of helping to unify the GOP behind a candidate, as the primary process typically does, the race has instead created deep wounds between the candidates that are unlikely to heal.
How sweet it would be if the Party of Lincoln sank back into the hellish slime from which it arose. This is one convention I intend to watch. Pass the beer and popcorn.

Bank of America calls for repeal of state LGBT law

Yes, it's time we allowed those overlooked, long-oppressed souls in the banking industry to have a voice in government.

Excuse me while I vomit.

Study: Government Surveillance Has People Scared to Express Views Online

As Hillary Clinton stated explicitly after the Brussels terror attack, it's unthinkable to restrict immigration for the safety of the American public. Instead, DC will amp up its citizen surveillance -- in the name of protecting us, of course. The inevitable result is to bring us one step closer to a Soviet-era culture of growing fear and distrust:

A new study from Wayne State University’s Elizabeth Stoycheff provides strong evidence that the growing perception of government surveillance of Internet communication is having a serious deleterious impact on the willingness of individuals to express “controversial” views online.

The study found that subjects primed before questioning with information giving them the impression the government is watching what they say are much less likely to disclose political views, and are reluctant to reveal any non-mainstream opinions they hold.
Our handlers in DC don't see the suppression of free speech as an unfortunate consequence of its "Invade the world/Invite the world" policy -- it's an added bonus. Citizen surveillanae = citizen control.

Postcard from a Failed State? Attacks Cast Light on Belgium's State Crisis

This eye-opening article from SpiegelOnline points out the REAL LESSON we should learn from the Muslim terror attack on Brussels:

Bart De Wever doesn't have much faith in his country. In fact, you can hardly call it a country, this artificial construct created sometime in the 19th century as the result of an accident of history, a power struggle among major powers. The centralized Belgian state is "slow, complicated and inefficient," says De Wever, one of the most powerful men in Belgian politics.

He represents a party that went into the last election campaigning for an end to this centralized state, and for an independent Flanders, which it argued would be more viable than Belgium, a broken construct.

De Wever heads the strongest party, the conservative right-wing New Flemish Alliance (N-VA). He is not part of the government, but rather the mayor of Antwerp, and yet he knows that people in Belgium pay very close attention to what he says.
Belgian security agencies totally mishandled the intel on the attackers for the precise reasons De Wever provides: Belgium is not a real nation; it is an artificial entity of two fractious ethnic groups. Cooperation without a shared culture is difficult at best, and the level of cooperation required in the fast-moving 21st century will determine what countries survive and which get tossed into the Dempster Dumpster of history.

Are you reading this, Frau Merkel? And how about you so-called leaders in America? It's time to wake up and smell reality.

Transgender Woman Raped In Stonewall Inn Bathroom

All the oh-so-politically-correct types are howling mad about North Carolina's HB 2, which struck down Charlotte's ordinance allowing "transgenders" to use the bathroom of their choice. Our moral and intellectual superiors claim it's just not true that allowing men in women's bathrooms would ever lead to sexual assaults. But such a policy has indeed led to a rape in enlightened New York City. And the attack took place at the Stonewall Inn:

A transgender woman was raped inside a bathroom at the historic gay bar Stonewall Inn this weekend, according to police.

The incident happened around 11:40 p.m. Saturday night when the 25-year-old victim was inside a single-occupancy unisex bathroom at the bar on Christopher Street. She told police that a man came into the bathroom claiming he only needed to wash his hands, then proceeded to grope and rape her.

The man fled the scene, and the victim also left the bar after the incident. She returned about an hour later, and called 911. She was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment.

Cops say no arrests have been made, but they're looking for a man in his 30s.
The ironic twist here is that the Stonewall Inn is where the "gay rights" movement began. If a rape can happen on what the LGBT's consider sacred ground, it can happen anywhere.

We now live in the Fabulous States of America.

Quote of the day

"The problem of terrorism in Europe is an internal phenomenon, not something that comes from the outside. The Europeans imported it – and, as Germany’s welcoming of hundreds of thousands of refugees from the war-torn Middle East dramatizes, they are continuing to import it. Now they are living with the consequences." - Justin Raimondo

So - will we learn from Europe's mistake? Instead, it looks like our so-called leaders proudly pretend importing more Middle Easterners is a virtue rather than a monumental error.

CIA-armed militias are shooting at Pentagon-armed ones in Syria

No, that headline is not from The Onion, but is an actual news headline from the Chicago Tribune:

Syrian militias armed by different parts of the U.S. war machine have begun to fight each other on the plains between the besieged city of Aleppo and the Turkish border, highlighting how little control U.S. intelligence officers and military planners have over the groups they have financed and trained in the bitter 5-year-old civil war.

The fighting has intensified over the past two months, as CIA-armed units and Pentagon-armed ones have repeatedly shot at each other as they have maneuvered through contested territory on the northern outskirts of Aleppo, U.S. officials and rebel leaders have confirmed.
These days, such cross-purpose fiascos are par for the course for DC. After all, DC has already declared war against itself by committing to demographic revolution through Third-World colonization. It can't get much crazier than that.

147 FBI agents involved in Clinton email probe

This election meltdown is getting really strange. We have The Donald with out-of-this-world unfavorability ratings for a front-runner. And then there's Hillary, who may be the first front-runner to be indicted:

A new report says 147 FBI agents are involved in the investigation surrounding Hillary Clinton's private email server and handling of classified material.

The Washington Post reports that the large number of agents have been deployed to run down leads in the investigation, citing a lawmaker briefed by FBI Director James Comey.

The Post reported that the FBI has accelerated its investigation because officials want to avoid potentially announcing any action close to the November election.
Things are looking mighty shaky for the status quo. Looks like something's gotta give ...

US Muslim Anti-Discrimination Group ‘Demands’ FBI Cancel Informant Program

Want a glimpse into the future? Here it is: Yet another ethnic/racial group has its hackles up over a government policy. In this case, Arabs in America demand the government end an anti-terrorism program. The Countering Violent Extremism program aims to prevent young Muslims from falling into the orbit of jihadist groups, whose recruiting efforts have been frighteningly effective lately. But such a program, claims the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, will only raise suspicions about ALL Muslims:

“The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee demands that the FBI cancel the launch of its controversial ‘Shared Responsibility Committee’ program,” the email states. “Since learning about the program last fall, ADC has frequently expressed serious concerns about the initiative, which is part of the government’s Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) program.”

Last November, the Washington Post reported, “The FBI has designed an unusual game-style Web site about extremism meant to be used by teachers and students to help the agency spot and prevent radicalization of youth, say Muslim and Arab advocacy groups who were briefed by the FBI on the program and fear it will foment discrimination against Muslims.”
Yep, that's our future. Instead of the "one united people" John Jay described in Federalist #2, a people, he wrote, "descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government," we'll have a seething population of mutually distrusting, prickly, snarling ethnic groups coralled within the same territory.

You know, like the Balkans, or Syria, or Iraq, where diversity is such a blessing.

Does the United States Still Exist?

Not when its Constitution, its founding document, has been nullified by the ruling regime, says Paul Craig Roberts.

Look who's opposed to the North Carolina Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act

Making men use the Men's restroom is oppression. And Caitlyn Jenner is a woman.

We Shall Fight In The Bathrooms ...

You start with a non-problem, then enact an ordinance with sweeping effects and ramifications. If it's done in the sacred name of "Equality," all right-thinking people should embrace it. At least, that's what Charlotte's radical mayor and a compliant city council assumed when they decreed that the "transgendered" have the right to choose the bathroom or changing room of their choice.

Instead, a rising tide of opposition sparked a state law that superseded local ordinances. The law responded to some basic concerns:
John Rustin, president of the North Carolina Family Policy Council, testified before the Senate, saying that the Charlotte ordinance "means men could enter women restrooms and locker rooms -- placing the privacy, safety, and dignity of women and the elderly at great risk."
Gov. McCrory agreed in a statement he wrote after signing the bill.

"The basic expectation of privacy in the most personal of settings, a restroom or locker room, for each gender was violated by government overreach and intrusion by the mayor and city council of Charlotte," he said. "As a result, I have signed legislation passed by a bipartisan majority to stop this breach of basic privacy and etiquette which was to go into effect April 1."
Of course, all the usual suspects shrilly condemn the legislature's and governor's actions. This quivering denunciation from the oh-so-politically correct Charlotte Observer is classic leftist rhetoric:
It was, in the end, about a 21st century governor who joined a short, tragic list of 20th century governors. You know at least some of these names, probably: Wallace, Faubus, Barnett. They were men who fed our worst impulses, men who rallied citizens against citizens, instead of leading their states forward.

This is what Pat McCrory did Wednesday. In just 12 hours. It wasn’t the stand in the schoolhouse door. It was a sprint past the bathroom door and straight into the South’s dark, bigoted past.
Yes, what could be more bigoted than requiring men to use the men's room? (Oh, and notice that gratuitous slam against the South, which is never "progressive" enough. Never mind that similar battles are under way in Illinois, Indiana, Washington and Wisconsin.)

What's going on here is the left's ongoing battle against traditional society, the latest quick-step in its Long March through the Institutions. As a bonus, "trannies" get official recognition as an oppressed class, the Cultural Marxist equivalent of a Christian martyr. The goal, as the Cultural Marxists see it, is to dismantle all social norms, those cultural standards built up over vast generations, which provide both meaning and guidance. Without those standards to shape their daily choices, people will be more dependent on the Enlightened Ones in government, thereby boosting the power of the ruling elite.

All part of the plan.

Quote of the day

"ISIL’s primary recruiting technique is not social or financial but theological. With frequent references to the highest sources of authority in Islam, the Quran and hadith (the collection of the sayings of the prophet Muhammad), ISIL enjoins upon Muslims their duty to fight against the enemies of Islam and to emigrate to the Islamic State once it has been established." - ex-Muslim writer Nabeel Qureshi

Toxic Tolerance

by Lisa Benson

Keep Digging!

Perpetual war and open borders created the threat of Islamic terrorism. In reaction to the most recent terror attack in Brussels, many argue it's time to stop DC's endless foreign interventions, and focus a reined-in military on doing the job it was meant to do, to defend our borders.

But of course, our moral and intellectual superiors in the news media and government soundly condemn such talk. We need bridges, they say, rather than walls. And "isolationism" (translation: Minding our own business) would be a bad, bad thing.

What's the ruling elite's answer to terrorism? To increase government surveillance on civilians. In Hillary Clinton's words, what America needs is an "intelligence surge." Of course. While it's undeniably true that ending foreign intervention and reinvigorating border security would stop both the motivation and opportunity to commit terror attacks, the ruling elite is quick to hammer down actual solutions to problems. As we've pointed out before, solutions are NEVER the answer to a problem; the answer must ALWAYS be to boost the power of the ruling elite.

That's why Hillary and all the other government goons want more war, more immigration, and more citizen surveillance. That way, DC can control protect us better.

At least 26 killed in Brussels terror attacks

Welcome to the War for Europe, where the latest news is both expected and shocking. The latest battleground is Brussels:

At least 26 people were killed and dozens more injured as coordinated terrorist attacks rocked the Brussels airport and subway system during rush hour Tuesday morning in the Belgian capital.

Bombings at Zaventem Airport and the metro station in the heavily Muslim section of Maelbeek were almost immediately confirmed as terror attacks. The attack at the airport was reportedly accompanied by shouts in Arabic and gunfire.

"What we feared has happened, we were hit by blind attacks," said Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel.

The attacks came four days after the main suspect in the November Paris attacks was arrested in Brussels, and even as Brussels was braced for new attacks.
For the last few years, Western nations have been competing with one another to show off who's more tolerant of Third-World colonization, and who's more generous with welfare benefits to their colonizers. The results in New York, Paris, and Brussels speak for themselves. Time for values-signaling to end. Now is the time for the West to choose life or death. Do we defend our people and our civilization, or do we lie down and let the invading hordes overrun us? Instead of sending our armed forces on ludicrous "democratization" crusades, we must now order them to do Job One, which is to protect the lives of their countrymen.

We might not get a second chance.

Stop Trump Movement Gets Boost From Mexico's Efforts in U.S.

Invasion USA - it's not just s movie any more -- it's for real, and it's happening in our own back yards. Now Mexico is joining the fight:

Mexico is mounting an unprecedented effort to turn its permanent residents in the U.S. into citizens, a status that would enable them to vote -- presumably against Donald Trump.

Officially, Mexico says it respects U.S. sovereignty and has no strategy to influence the result of the presidential race. Yet Mexican diplomats are mobilizing for the first time to assist immigrants in gaining U.S. citizenship, hosting free workshops on naturalization.

"This is a historic moment where the Mexican consulate will open its doors to carry out these types of events in favor of the Mexican community," Adrian Sosa, a spokesman for the consulate in Chicago, said before an event on March 19. In Dallas, about 250 permanent residents attended the consulate’s first "citizenship clinic" in February and another 150 in its second in March. In Las Vegas, the turnout topped 500.
We're being invaded, folks. And the Quislings in government and the media want you to like it.

'Shut Down Trump': Protesters Shut Down AZ Highway to Rally

The Totalitarian Left strikes again. They say their target is Donald Trump, but their real target is traditional America:

Protesters opposing Donald Trump have shut down a major highway in Fountain Hills, Arizona in hopes of stopping thousands from attending his event.

Footage shows crowds standing in the middle of the road with signs saying “Dump Trump” and “Shut Down Trump.”

Some 10,000 people were expected at the event, and many may now not be able to get there, Leland Vittert reported.
The left has lost the debate, and knows it. Unable to argue a coherent case, the left's only course is to silence the opposition, the Bill of Rights be damned.

Quote of the day

"In both parties, people are rebelling against failed policies that are repeated over and over regardless of which wing of the Establishment party, Republican or Democrat, is in power. The Establishment represents more stupid wars that kill our kids, more giving Wall Street whatever it wants at the expense of Main Street, and more stinking political correctness, which is really cultural Marxism." - William Lind

November Stabbings at UC Merced Terror-Inspired

When Faisal Mohammad stabbed four people at the University of California at Merced last November, folks were quick to shush those who suspected Islamic terror:

UC Merced Chancellor Dorthy Leland said: 'At this point, it would be irresponsible to draw such conclusions based solely on the ethnicity of the suspect.

'At this point in time, the preliminary evidence suggests that freshman computer science and engineering student Faisal Mohammad of Santa Clara appears to have been motivated by personal animosities, not a political agenda.'

Sheriff Vern Warnke added that it was an 'act of an individual for a vendetta... nothing to indicate there was any political or religious motivation.'
Yeah! So shut your Islamophobic mouths, you haters.

Wait a minute -- what's this updated report from the FBI?

The University of California, Merced, student who stabbed four people at the school in November before police killed him was apparently inspired to carry out the attack after viewing terrorist propaganda, the FBI said. The determination means there have been five ISIS-inspired attacks in the United States.

Police initially characterized the November 4 stabbings as the misguided acts of a disgruntled student. But the FBI said Thursday that Faisal Mohammad, 18, had visited websites for ISIS and other terrorist organizations before the attack, concluding that “he may have self-radicalized and drawn inspiration from terrorist propaganda.”
Strange thing, though -- Mohammad was born in the United States. Looks like our magic dirt failed to transform him into a loyal American.

Kurds to Declare Autonomous Region in Northern Syria

Oh, my. One region after another continues to defy our moral and intellectual superiors in the District of Corruption. Now the Kurds -- the Kurds! -- are deviating from the script handed to them by their masters in DC! Whatever could come of all this nonsense about self-determination?

US Congress Hears Testimony On Self-Determination Movements, Including Catalonia

Hmm - I wonder why the nest of thieves, perverts, and liars in DC is suddenly interested in independence movements?

The United States Congress' Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia & Emerging Threats heard testimony on Tuesday from three experts on the matter of self-determination movements, including references to the separatist process in Catalonia.

Jason Sorens, a lecturer at the Department of Government at Dartmouth College, said Catalonia was only one of six Spanish regions where some degree of desire for independence has been expressed, the others being the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country, Navarra, the Canary Islands and Galicia.
Most likely, Congress wants to know more about global self-determination movements for the same reason the Bloods and Crips want to know about police activity: They know this could end their crime spree.

Top liberal leaders call for 'massive' anti-Trump campaign

This is funny:

“This is a five-alarm fire for our democracy. A hate-peddling bigot who openly incites violence is the likely presidential nominee of one of our nation’s two major parties. It is alarming and dangerous. Donald Trump’s candidacy is a threat to the America we love, and we must respond to him and what he is stoking as such,” reads the letter, which was obtained first by POLITICO. It is signed by top officials of Sanders-backing groups like MoveOn.org and Clinton-backing organizations including the Service Employees International Union.
Wait a minute! A candidate wins the popular vote, and THAT'S a threat to "democracy"? And preventing the people's choice is going to preserve that "democracy"?

I'm not a Trump supporter, but am thoroughly enjoying watching the Establishment getting its panties in a wad over him.

124 illegal immigrants released by DHS later charged with murder

This is what open borders does to its citizens. What other crimes does the rogue regime in DC have to commit before a majority realizes it has no legitimacy as a government?

Quote of the day

“I think there’s real risk that the party is dividing. I think America will be a difficult place to govern under a three-party system, because we’re not a parliamentary system. I think it’s a big risk for the stability of our country.” - Shannon Smith, chief executive of the Charlotte-based Abundant Power Group LLC.

And by "the stability of our country," Smith and other plutocrats mean "our control over the country."

German voters' crushing verdict on open-door migration: Angela Merkel is punished in crucial state elections

Looks like more Europeans have decided they don't want to be turned into the Third World. The migrant crisis Merkel imposed on her own people has spawned a powerful backlash:

German voters turned to the far right in droves yesterday in a damning verdict on Angela Merkel’s open door border policy.

In regional elections she was humiliated by the anti-immigrant AfD – Alternative for Germany – party.

Formed just three years ago, it has surged in popularity following Mrs Merkel’s decision to roll out the red carpet for more than a million migrants.

Frauke Petry, who leads the Eurosceptic party, has suggested German border guards should open fire on illegal immigrants.
Survival as a people and protecting the borders are the most basic responsibilities of government. When a government fails to do its job, the consequences are not the fault of the people impacted by that failure, but are instead the government's fault.

Leftists shut down Trump rally

Congratulations, leftists! Your thuggish actions have energized another 10 million votes for The Donald, who is playing the attack for all it's worth.

Quote of the day

Is socialism a good thing? Let's ask someone who once lived in an actual socialist country, chess great Garry Kasparov:

"I'm enjoying the irony of American Sanders supporters lecturing me, a former Soviet citizen, on the glories of Socialism and what it really means! Socialism sounds great in speech soundbites and on Facebook, but please keep it there. In practice, it corrodes not only the economy but the human spirit itself, and the ambition and achievement that made modern capitalism possible and brought billions of people out of poverty. Talking about Socialism is a huge luxury, a luxury that was paid for by the successes of capitalism. Income inequality is a huge problem, absolutely. But the idea that the solution is more government, more regulation, more debt, and less risk is dangerously absurd."

Who's to blame for the mess in Libya?

With Qaddafi gone, Libya has turned into a prize for ISIS, as well as the main jumping-off point for hundreds of thousands of African and Middle-Eastern invaders who are storming Europe (and inevitably, the US). So whose fault is it? It depends on who you ask. Let's ask Obama, whose administration orchestrated an air war that enabled rebels opposed to Qaddafi to overthrow what had been a stable regime:

President Barack Obama has strongly criticized the leaders of Great Britain and France for their policy toward Libya after the 2011 overthrow of dictator Muammar Qaddafi, saying that he was mistaken to believe the U.S.' European allies would be "more invested in the follow-up" to Qaddafi's fall.

Obama made the remarks in an interview with The Atlantic magazine. The criticisms of British Prime Minister David Cameron, in particular, are some of the strongest of a sitting U.K. leader by a sitting president.

In the interview, Obama calls the situation in Libya a "mess" in part because he says Cameron became "distracted by a range of other things."
Interventionism says the world must be reconstructed by force. Hammer out the old ways, and Utopia will magically rise up to take their place.

Or so say the interventionists at home and abroad. The fact that intervention almost always leads to misery and chaos does not suggest to its proponents that they're wrong. In fact, as Obama argues above, such chaos only proves that MORE intervention was and is needed. So what happens is that they go on to plot their next bloodletting in the name of "progress."

What was Einstein's definition of insanity? Oh, yes ...

Surprise! NSA data will soon routinely be used for domestic policing that has nothing to do with terrorism

When the Patriot Act was passed in the wake of 9/11, those of us who warned that the Feds would inevitably misuse these new powers were slammed as "paranoid" and "unpatriotic." But that was then. Now, we're seeing that the Feds have indeed twisted the language of the Patriot Act to justify unconstitutional police powers:

We’ve known for a couple of years now that the Drug Enforcement Administration and the IRS were getting information from the NSA. Because that information was obtained without a warrant, the agencies were instructed to engage in “parallel construction” when explaining to courts and defense attorneys how the information had been obtained. If you think parallel construction just sounds like a bureaucratically sterilized way of saying big stinking lie, well, you wouldn’t be alone. And it certainly isn’t the only time that that national security apparatus has let law enforcement agencies benefit from policies that are supposed to be reserved for terrorism investigations in order to get around the Fourth Amendment, then instructed those law enforcement agencies to misdirect, fudge and outright lie about how they obtained incriminating information ...
You can't trust the central government. When will we learn?

Real Federalism: Switzerland

A better title would be "Confederalism in Switzerland," but I nit-pick. The Swiss system of government makes it impossible for one person to launch a war, import millions of aliens, or issue executive orders that violate the rights of its citizens. As more overgrown megastates age and die, the peoples of the world will increasingly look to little Switzerland as a model.

The UnDemocratic Democratic Primary

Here's the crooked set-up that's put the Sea Hag ahead in delegates over Red Bernie:

The DNC doesn’t allocate delegates by simply heeding the will of the voters. Instead they calculate their tallies from a combination of “pledged delegates,” which are earned from the actual votes of real people, and “unpledged delegates,” better known as “superdelegates.”

Superdelegates consist of Democratic officeholders, as well as 21 “distinguished members,” a group made up of former presidents, vice presidents, DNC chairs, etc.

In non-political speak, “distinguished members” are really Democrat political insiders and D.C. powerbrokers, not the everyday voters Democrats claim to represent.
"Democracy" is a magic word used to fool the simple-minded into supporting a brutal and corrupt regime.

Documents Reveal US Army Indoctrinated Soldiers on Dangers of ‘White Privilege’

It's not just the government schools indoctrinating kids in the guise of educating them - seems the Imperial Forces are doing the same thing to recruits. From Judicial Watch:

Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained documents from the United States Department of the Army revealing that in April 2015, 400 soldiers in the 67th Signal Battalion at Fort Gordon, Georgia, were subjected to a “white privilege” briefing, including a PowerPoint presentation instructing the attendees: “Our society attaches privilege to being white and male and heterosexual …”
Read the whole thing if you have the stomach for it. So now it's undeniable -- the official ideology of the DC Empire is Cultural Marxism. Remember that if your son says he wants to join the military.

Pentagon admits it has deployed military spy drones over the U.S.

From the fine folks who plotted Project Northwoods comes a bizarre semi-admission and half-hearted apology. From USA Today:

The Pentagon has deployed drones to spy over U.S. territory for non-military missions over the past decade, but the flights have been rare and lawful, according to a new report.

The report by a Pentagon inspector general, made public under a Freedom of Information Act request, said spy drones on non-military missions have occurred fewer than 20 times between 2006 and 2015 and always in compliance with existing law.
Yes, that's very reassuring. Which do we believe, a gang of uniformed parasites, or James Madison, who warned:

In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence against foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home.
This is something the pro-war, any-war crowd doesn't get -- the Empire's standing army is a threat to liberty, not its defender. We were warned from day one.

Harvard Law School might remove official seal over links to slavery

The War Against History isn't confined to the South any more -- now even Harvard is being pressured to bury its past:

"Too many people think the shield has become an impediment," he said. "Too many people see the association with slavery."

The shield, officially adopted in 1937, depicts three bundles of wheat, an image borrowed from the family crest of Isaac Royall Jr., under the university's motto "Veritas."

Royall donated his estate to create the first law professorship at Harvard University. His father, Isaac Royall Sr., made much of the family wealth on the backs of slaves on Caribbean sugar plantations and Massachusetts farms.

Minow created the committee after some law school students formed a group called Royall Must Fall to denounce the shield.
This makes me wonder just how far America's Cultural Revolution can go. Look at the Democratic Party, where the oh-so-politically-correct have already distanced themselves from its founders, Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, who not only owned slaves but were - gasp! - Southerners. But how many Democrats know that the Democratic donkey was originally Andrew Jackson's mascot? Does the Democrats' continued use of the donkey mean they intend to honor the slaveowner behind the cultural cleansing of the Cherokee? Hmm?

And don't even get me started on the namesake of Washington, DC.

Prayer Dispute Between Somalis and Plant Reshapes a Colorado Town, Again

Big business can't get enough cheap labor. And when Third-World immigrants are brought in, the expense of accommodating them goes to the taxpayers. In Fort Morgan, Colorado, new interpreters had to be hired in the government schools, where over a dozen languages are spoken.

The Muslim population's clout has grown with its size. And now that clout is being wielded against the meat packer that hired them. Muslims demanding special privileges to pray to Mecca on the job have gone on strike. Here's betting they win.

There is no "melting pot" here. All assimilation must be done by a shrinking, spineless majority.

Pork banned in German cafes and schools to 'not offend refugees'

More acts of utter surrender to Muslim invaders.

Let's see them try to take away my North Carolina barbecue. Just try it.

‘We Own Texas’

Senor Ronald Gonzales of Dallas, Texas, has something to say about demographic change:

Speaking outside a Donald Trump rally in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday, a Hispanic demonstrator warned the GOP candidate’s white supporters that there would be consequences if Trump manages to make it all the way to the White House.

“If these people get what they want, Trump in there, I guarantee you — you think the Mexicans are going to lay down that easily? We don’t ever say nothing,” Ronald Gonzales, of Dallas, said.

After explaining that he isn’t an advocate for open borders, he argued that many of the illegal immigrants living in the U.S. “already got families and kids that are here” — and they wouldn’t allow a Trump administration to break up their families.

“It ain’t gonna happen,” Gonzales said. “You really want the Mexicans to really, really stir, really get mad? Y’all don’t understand — we aren’t the minority anymore. We own Texas. Texas is Mexican-made.”
Folks, that isn't assimilation he's talking about, but invasion. Senor Gonzales is saying the invasion's over, and we'd damn well better welcome our new Latino overlords. And we know how the media will respond:

Hard right stuns with huge election gains in Frankfurt

Both of Germany's "mainstream" political parties lost votes to anti-immigration parties. Has the West turned on the open borders globalists? This could be the turning point.

German swimming pool forced to segregate men and women

How can the West cope with its Muslim invaders? Fortunately, there is a politically correct response that guarantees peace, and that is surrender. It works in Germany:

A German water park that has been the scene of two sex attacks by migrants have announced plans to segregate men and women.
The plan will involve banning men and teenage boys from using the waterslides at certain times when only women, girls and very young boys will be allowed access.
It comes days after police arrested two asylum seekers from Afghanistan for a sex attack on two girls on the slides at the Arriba water park in Norderstedt in the Schleswig-Holstein region.
Segregate the sexes, just like they do in Muslim lands, and that problem's solved. Next?

If you decided to remove your front and back doors of your house, you'd be the proud owner of an inclusive, tolerant home. Instead of discriminating who could and could not enter, anyone with the notion to enter your house -- whatever their motivation -- could sashay right on in.

Yeah, it sounds insane, but that's what DC has decided to do on a national level. And it seems Open Borders has its detractors:

“The folks down there have never gotten any relief from illegal crossings,” said Caren Cowan, executive director of the Albuquerque-based New Mexico Cattle Growers’ Association. “And things have ramped up. These people are desperate. They are absolutely desperate. We have had countless meetings with government agencies over the years, and I say this with all due respect, all we hear about is what they are trying to do and nothing gets done.”

“The main reason for this meeting is this incident,” said Meira Gault, whose 20,000-acre ranch lies just north of the U.S.-Mexico border in Hidalgo County. “People feel they aren’t protected. Everyone is scared.”
The mainstream media will respond by publishing some pictures of dewy-eyed Mexican kids and claim they represent those who violate our southern border, and if you don't agree, then you're a white supremacist neo-nazi hater. End of discussion ... but not for those who have to live with this nightmare. A nation that doesn't control its borders isn't a nation anymore. No wonder more folks see the central regime as illegitimate.

Obama Cuts 2.6 Billion from Vets While Allocating 4.5 Billion to Migrants Moving to US

Yet another obscenity from the Obama regime. And the politicians wonder why the American people are so angry.

When Libertarians Attack!

The enemy of liberty has been found. Now it’s only a matter of exposing the monster for what it is, and it shall die from humiliation.

That monster is -- conservatism.

It seems conservatism is an ideology, like communism or Nazism, that demands a powerful, centralized government, a police state, regulation over every aspect of an individual’s life, and a militaristic foreign policy.

Or so says libertarian author and blogger Tom Mullen. His book Where Do Conservatives and Liberals Come From? claims to expose conservatism as the ugly and vicious love-child of those ancient apologists for despots, Thomas Hobbes and Edmund Burke.

Wait, what? Edmund Burke?

It takes only a cursory look at Mullen’s assertions to see just how sloppy and poorly researched they are. In doing so, I will let conservatives define conservatives, rather than libertarians. Seems only fair.

First, let’s consider how ludicrous it is to claim conservatism was co-founded by Thomas Hobbes and Edmund Burke. In fact, Hobbes belonged to a camp of political science that was directly opposed to Burke’s. Hobbes was a rationalist philosopher. Rationalists, as Michael Spicer explains in The Founders, The Constitution, and Public Administration: A Conflict in World Views, view human reason as sovereign. Reason, say the rationalists, is the ultimate authority on how humans should conduct themselves and organize society. Rationalists believe man can perfect himself and create utopia on earth. Because reason is the same everywhere, its principles apply to all peoples. Spicer observes that “rationalists distrust ideas derived from customs and traditions,” and therefore customs and traditions “are seen as impediments to obtaining true knowledge and must be swept aside.”

That’s why rationalist philosophers look to violence, whether by revolution or state-sanctioned force, to sweep out those musty old traditions that impede their programs.

Edmund Burke, on the other hand, was an anti-rationalist. As Spicer explains in his book, anti-rationalists do not believe human nature can be perfected. Instead, anti-rationalists “see the world, particularly the world of human affairs, as simply too complex and hence too unpredictable for any one mind, however wise, to comprehend and control.” For that reason, anti-rationalist philosophers look to established customs, traditions, and institutions as the most reliable guides to human conduct.

I cannot improve on this summary of Burke’s thought from the Edmund Burke Institute:

Burke is commonly regarded as the founder of modern conservatism. In his speeches and writings, he articulated the concept of an organic society: a social order that is sacred, natural, historical and traditional. He believed that social change was best achieved when eschewing abstract thought divorced from experience; instead, he favored renewal of the polity in harmony with a regard for individual liberty, respect for the accumulated wisdom within existing institutions and a concern for the greater good of the community. His political theory can best be summarized by his most famous phrase: "Society is a contract between the past, the present and those yet unborn."

Traditional, organic society, then, is the foundation of order. Russell Kirk argued that traditional society is the only -- the ONLY -- source of our rules for mutual interaction -- in other words, our rights:

Traditions are not abstractions; they are particular beliefs and customs closely related to private life and faith. The American Republic has its traditions, and so has the Cambodian Kingdom; but traditions are not created by political authority, and ought not to be debased into party slogans.

Only for the past century and a half has the word “tradition” been employed to signify “ancient customs” or “established habits of life in society.” Edmund Burke, for instance, writing in the last years of the eighteenth century, used the word “prescription” to convey these meanings, rather than the word “tradition.”

When we speak of tradition in America, then, generally we mean prescriptive social habits, prejudices, customs, and political usages which most people accept with little question, as an intellectual legacy from their ancestors.

The stable of rationalist philosophers includes Jean-Jacques Rousseau, John Dewey, and Irving Kristol. Rationalists believe in the sovereign individual, whose chief concern is economic, and from that assumption, they derive their advocacy of the unitary, consolidated state; open borders; economic globalization; and the eradication of all traditional restraints on individual choice.

Among the notable anti-rationalists are David Hume, Adam Smith, and Joseph de Maistre. Anti-rationalists believe in the social nature of man, whose chief concern is the preservation and well-being of one’s culture, and from that foundation, they argue for small, culturally based political units; mediating institutions, such as families, churches, and voluntary associations to shelter and nurture the isolated individual; border security to insure demographic continuity; economic nationalism to protect jobs; and respect for traditional morality, which strengthens families and communities.

Mullen’s sloppiness is most apparent -- and grating -- in his conflation of neoconservatives and conservatives. Neoconservatives, despite their misleading name, are rationalists who view America as a “creedal nation” rather than a nation founded on Western traditions. Neocons base their ideology on Trotsky’s strategy of the “permanent revolution,” which called for supporting socialism in other countries to protect socialism in the USSR. So when Neocon handpuppet George W. Bush launched his US-led “global democratic revolution” beginning with Iraq, he argued that exporting democracy would help protect democracy in the US. When real conservatives, such as Pat Buchanan, Charley Reese, and Sam Francis aired their objections to Bush’s crusade, National Review’s David Frum denounced them as “unpatriotic conservatives.” Nevertheless, Mullen equates “militarism” as a defining conservative value.

There’s also an amusing aspect of Mullen’s intellectual confusion. On the basis of a few quotes, Mullen claims Edmund Burke fundamentally agreed with Thomas Hobbes, despite Burke’s radically different politics. While Burke believed in an organic society, Hobbes argued that man is not a social animal. Hobbes even went so far as to claim that society could not exist without a powerful government. The foundation of conservatism is that culture precedes government. Despite this breathtaking contradiction, Mullen frequently (obsessively?) uses Hobbes to discredit conservatism. Yet, Mullen applauds John Locke as one of the good guys, despite Locke’s frequent citation of Hobbes and partial agreement with him.

Why is this important? If we are to defend liberty, we have to understand where it came from, how it can be preserved, and what threatens it. Today we are faced with an out-of-control and self-serving central government that is busily importing a compliant Third-World population. Libertarians such as Mullen claim to defend liberty, but vocally support open borders and economic globalism, the same double-edged sword the ruling elite wields against us, its subjects. Without a Western majority, we cannot hope to preserve Western standards of behavior and governance.

El Chapo entered US twice while on the run after prison break, daughter claims

Now this from The Guardian is just scary:

The drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán bankrolled the election of senior Mexico politicians and twice secretly entered the United States to visit relatives, according to his eldest daughter.

Rosa Isela Guzmán Ortiz said that shortly after an interview with Hollywood star Sean Penn last year, her father dodged a massive manhunt with the complicity of corrupt Mexican officials and evaded US border controls to sneak into California – despite being one of the world’s most wanted fugitives.
Border security? What border security?

Trump Softens Immigrant Visa Stance After Cementing Front-Runner Status

Il Donald is already setting his supporters up for the inevitable letdown:

Two days after cementing his front-runner status for the Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump softened his position on legal immigration in Thursday's debate, and made no apologies for it.

“I'm changing. I'm changing. We need highly skilled people in this country,” the billionaire said. “And if we can't do it, we’ll get them in. And we do need—in Silicon Valley, we absolutely have to have. So we do need highly skilled.”

“I'm changing it, and I’m softening the position because we have to have talented people in this country,” Trump said.
How could ANYONE have trusted this narcissistic poseur and show-off?

Miley Cyrus pledges to leave US if Trump wins

Dang it! Here's another reason to hold my nose and push the Republican button on the voting machine come November.

Come to think of it, this would simply be switching one vulgar exhibitionist for another. Zero sum.

Quote of the day

"Building a wall between Mexico and the United States is a terrible idea. It is an idea based on ignorance and has no foundation in the reality of North American integration." - Luis Videgaray, Finance Minister of Mexico.

Two questions: 1 - When did Americans vote for "North American integration"? I want the idiots who blubber about the US being a "democracy" to explain that. 2 - Does Senor Videgaray not realize that he's helping Trump by attacking him this way?

The DC Empire is self-destructing

What happens to a bloated, corrupt regime whose machinery of power breaks down? It's called "collapse." Consider what's happening to DC's twin instruments of mass command and control, the Democrat and Republican parties. The Republican central command is now at war with its apparent nominee for president:

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will deliver a scorching indictment of Donald Trump on Thursday, calling the candidate a "phony" and a "fraud" who'd threaten America's future.

Romney is due to speak Thursday in Utah at the Hinckley Institute of Politics Forum on the state of the 2016 presidential race. Already a vocal critic of Trump, excerpts released ahead of the speech show Romney will go a step further in his attacks by accusing the GOP frontrunner of "playing the American public for suckers."

The repudiation of Trump — who endorsed Romney's 2012 run — will be the latest in a growing anti-Trump movement among some Conservatives.
And Hillary Clinton, the Democratic front runner, is in deep, deep trouble:

The Justice Department has granted immunity to a former State Department staffer, who worked on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, as part of a criminal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information, according to a senior law enforcement official.

The official said the FBI had secured the cooperation of Bryan Pagliano, who worked on Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign before setting up the server in her New York home in 2009.
This is a crisis of leadership unlike anything the regime in DC has ever seen. If there's no one who can fool voters into submitting to continued control from the central government, that's it. Game over. Tick-tock ...

Refugees buying one-way tickets home after finding Germany intolerable

Third-World invaders are self-deporting from Germany. Ardalan Hassan, the head of the Dania Travel Agency in Berlin, explains the reason why. It's VERY instructive. From the LA Times:

"They thought they'd be warmly welcomed in Germany," he said. "Some thought they'd get a lot of money, that the state would give them big houses to live in.... It's only after they get here that they see how poor their prospects to earn a living are."

Hassan said that he tries to tell Iraqis to stay home in the first place, that life in Germany isn't as easy as they think. "But no one believes me," he said. "They have to see it themselves to believe how difficult it is here."
Pat Buchanan has argued for decades we can stop the flow of illegal aliens by cutting off benefits. So now let's wait for all those who claimed self-deportation could never work to apologize. Still waiting ...

On Texas secession, Syrian partition, and imploding nation states

From Asia Times:

Dr. Christina Lin is a Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at SAIS-Johns Hopkins University. She is the author of 'The New Silk Road: China's Energy Strategy in the Greater Middle East' (The Washington Institute for Near East Policy) and a former director for China policy at the US Department of Defense.

Dr. Lin has surveyed the geopolitical map and can see that the times they are a changin'. In her words, "it would appear the world is slowly entering a post-Westphalian and Huntingtonian remaking of a new world order." No doubt. The Hegelian megastate considered individual, community, and ethno-religious loyalties inferior to the territorial integrity of the "greater nation." The carnage of the War Between the States, World War I, and World War II is the legacy of big government. The 21st century, on the other hand, promises to be a time of great change and realignment, and it's clear the rise of historical cultures as political entities will continue to gather momentum.

And here's the message to the apologists and hangers-on of the dead, old empire: Tick-tock ...

Legislator files bill to allow St. Louis to secede from Missouri

The Kansas City and St. Louis city councils don't like the control exerted over them by the rural, conservative majority. What's the answer? Self-determination.

Welcome to the 21st century.

Kerry: If Ceasefire Fails, Partition of Syria is ‘Plan B’

This is quite an admission from DC's Secretary of State:

Speaking to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee today, Secretary of State John Kerry suggested the latest push for a ceasefire in Syria could amount to the last chance for one, and suggested that the US would see a partition of the country as “plan B.”

Kerry didn’t offer any details on how this would work, of course, but that fact that the US is mentioning partition at all is a huge step, as the US has fiercely resisted similar considerations in neighboring Iraq, which itself is facing a near identical war with many of the same combatants.
One of DC's goals in its bloody Middle East interventions is to prove that a multicultural nation can work, provided enough coercion is brought to bear. And if the different peoples can't be beaten into getting along, well, there's always the option of self-determination; in other words, letting the different groups have what they wanted to begin with.

It's uncharacteristic of a top DC official to admit the regime's policies are on the brink of failing. It's even more unusual to see one look to small government as a solution. My, but times are changing.
