House bill seeks to repeal 'ban on secession' in NC constitution

The 21st century is speeding right along. The overgrown and bloody superstates of the 19th and 20th centuries continue to totter, finding themselves replaced by smaller, culturally based political units. The latest to test the water is the sovereign State of North Carolina:

A new bill in the North Carolina General Assembly is looking to make changes to the state Constitution, removing the portion that prohibits secession.

House Bill 147 was filed Tuesday by representatives Michael Speciale, George G. Cleveland, Larry G. Pittman, and Bert Jones. All four men are Republican lawmakers. ...

According to HB147, the sponsors want to put the repeal up on the ballot during the general election in November 2018. They say if the voters approve the amendment, it should be made law.
There's no telling how this will go, but one thing's for sure: It'll be a hoot to watch the liberals, Neocons, and other defenders of big-government squirm if this comes to a popular vote. They'll have to come out either for or against government by the consent of the people. Pass the popcorn and a beer, 'cause the show's about to start!

That's great news! It looks like you're right that secession is a growing force working its way through the democratic process.

I keep debating Neocons online who try to sell me how vital Central banks and US Empire are to the world. I assume most people are fooled into believing how necessary they are.

And on NPR yesterday, an expert declared the US had supported the European Union since its inception. It was publicly acknowledged. It was argued how it's somehow in US interests to maintain the EU. I assume this means both spending money and actively getting involved. So, hopefully Trump stops all meddling.

So, our empire then is perhaps to blame for destroying Europe.

They may still be distracted by California and hijinks in the North, to even notice.

Wow!! Talk about starting an old man's day off right! Sometimes you say "know hope," but now we might just be looking right into hope's bright and shining face. Thanks, Old Rebel, for posting that.

American liberals, Neocons, phony republicans, and phony conservatives go into their psycho dance anytime that Russia points out that the Crimeans had a referendum and voted to be part of Russia instead of the crazy ass Ukraine. (And there will be more.)

As for any U.S. State, I salute laying the groundwork for a future vote.

Being by yourself is scary, but once a Confederation of states is formed, the jump may actually take place.

It will be interesting to see how the leftists react to this, considering they seem to be all for it in California. But then I suppose they will be able to come up with some convoluted reason why California should be allowed to secede but North Carolina shouldn't. With the Leftists logic makes no difference--it's all in the agenda. But this will make them squirm and I will love it.

This news has been out for three days, and it hasn't made HuffPo, yet.

Don't hold your breath until HuffPo gives it any coverage. This is one of those news items the managed media has determine the public does not really need to be aware of--for our own good naturally!
