In Referendum on Refugees, Rutland Mayor Loses Reelection Bid

Former Rutland Mayor Chris Louras, an Angela Merkel clone in left-of-center Vermont just got booted from his job for importing Syrian refugees into his small town:

Rutland Mayor Chris Louras, who endured months of withering criticism for his plan to bring Syrian refugees to the city, lost his reelection bid on Tuesday.

In unofficial voting results, David Allaire, a city alderman and leading critic of the resettlement, trounced Louras, a 10-year mayoral incumbent, by a 776-vote margin, according to results cited by the Rutland Herald and WCAX-TV.

"I'm simply wishing him luck and I'm moving on," Louras told Seven Days Tuesday night. He declined further comment, saying he would "not hazard a guess" as to what the election results say about Rutland's support for refugees.
I'm sure the Deep State is watching and learning. Lesson learned? Don't let the rubes vote on the important issues.

As one of those despised 'Yankees' who reads REBELLION faithfully (because I cannot recall ever disagreeing with anything written on REBELLION) I can honestly say sometimes good things do happen in Vermont.

And here I thought yankees welcomed "diversity".

How silly of these Vermont politicians...........Had the referendum been on "Sending refugees to the Deep South it would have been 99% YEA!

After all, "Bernie Sanders" is the "Blue chip Marxist Candidate" for Utopia.

Louras said he is moving on? Probably means he is moving out of the State because of all the immigrants that have moved in.
